  1. Jason Newsted fitted much better in Metallica than their current bassist.

It's funny you say that. I never appreciated Jason until he left (sad... sounds almost like a life lesson ). I was so hard core Cliff Burton, like his death was Jason's fault or something... fans are fucked up. Anyway, when he left I realized that when Cliff was in Metallica, he was the coolest guy in the band, and then when Jason came in, he turned into the coolest, "let's keep it real", "band therapy is for pussies", "Lars, stop suing Napster like a jackass", guy in the band.

Rob's alright I guess. Maybe I'll like him after he leaves

  2. This is not the Misfits. Even the scab singer is gone. Now it is Jerry Only and a whole lotta scabs.

Exactly... Danzig was the Misfits. Keep beating the streets Only.

If Only wasn't "out for the money" as well, he would have called this band something else.

  3. This has got to be the funniest thing I've ever read on this forum...

Who was GNR's keyboardist before Dizzy? No one. GNR's original Keyboardist was Dizzy Reed.

Who was GNR's third guitarist before Buckethead? No one. GNR's original third guitarist was Buckethead.

Who was GNR's second keyboardist before Pitman? No one. GNR's original second keyboardist was Chris Pitman.

Who was GNR's... oh fuck it, everyone even remotely associated with GNR is an original member, even Jarmo. His percussion on Appetite was flawless.

  4. Bach has his nose so far up axls ass its not even funny

You are so right. Bach really has turned into, a, ummm... help me out here Axl...

"kiss ass sycophant throwin' penance at your feet"

    that's it! thanks man :P

  5. I will force myself to play TSI until I have paid for my belief in a false god.

Then I will walk on red hot coals to numb the pain from the serious ass fucking axl gave me.

C'mon, TSI isn't that bad??!! It has its moments.

    Anyway...

I wasn't planning on buying CD when it first comes out so I don't care when it's released. Don't get me wrong, I will buy it eventually, just not right away. Call it my own little protest for making us wait so long. Of course, it's a protest that Axl won't give two fucks about.

    :P

  6. It would kind of silly for a 44 year old multi-millionaire to write songs with the same lyrical content as AFD.

Exactly, when you're in your 20's, write like a twenty year old. When you're 44, write like a person approaching middle age.

  7. I wonder if it was hard for Del James to write that while kissing Axl's ass at the same time.

Wow, this has been said before so I'll just repeat. This whole "Guns N' Roses family" thing has turned into one giant group of yes men. Axl signs their paychecks and in return takes all of their independent thoughts and opinions. And now Del James, on payroll mind you, is writing an article about "how things really are."

And with regards to Slash and Duff... what "vision" of GNR was never theirs??!!! It must have been the whole 13 years of silence since TSI. Maybe Axl is trying to wait until all the old fans die off and start fresh in 2087.

And last I checked, that last Guns album featured both of them. So what is he saying? That the overall vision of Guns N' Roses is "Oh My God"?! That's just great.

Del James has turned into such a yes man that if Slash running GNR and Axl were out, he'd write something bashing Axl. Anything to get paid.

And then he goes on talking about how rock n' roll is an all nite party that's rebellious and non-conformist, then in the next paragraph he's talking about yoga, chiropractic adjustments and massage therapy?!! Rock n' roll forever baby!

This whole thing is just getting sadder and more discouraging.

dude, are you serious? i really can't understand how you could form such an opinion...

Can you really imagine someone like Del James, or anyone else closely related to the band, publishing "free thoughts" that criticize GN'R? I mean, honestly, what do you think they would say? Of course they are obviously going to play up the band- people tend to play up most things they enjoy and are passionate about...

    I mean... just... ????

That's my point, Del James can't publish "free thoughts" on the band because he's on the payroll. That's fine, but it takes away his credibility. It can only be one or the other. My problem is that an objective reporter with no connections or loyalties would never be allowed the inside access Del James has. Why? Because god forbid, his thoughts or opinions might upset Axl.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not believe that Axl is motivated by money. Axl could have sold out many times over but has refused. But I do believe is that everyone around him, his band, his camp, his whole GNR "family" IS motivated by money and will do whatever it takes, be it walking on eggshells, playing AFD repeatedly, or just being flat out yes men, to keep this money train rolling. And that's the problem. The artistic tension and compromise in normal bands is what harbors creativity.

Del James' article was a sanitized, calculated PR move that I can all but guarantee was proofread and edited by more people than just him. Rock n' roll indeed.

  9. CD's sales will depend solely on whether or not it is (surprise surprise) good or bad.

I'm not sure which magazine it was, but I back in '87 some review of AFD said something to the tune of "they're guitars sound like chainsaws" and "with bands like LA Guns around, there's no room for a Guns N Roses"... and we all know how that turned out.

so, like LUKINX said, I wouldn't worry about reviews :P
