Cmon now, you know that Slash's only goal in life since birth is to make Axl look bad.Do you really believe that Slash would damage his own reputation just to make Axl look bad?? I highly doubt it. -

Axl In NYC
in 2006
Good one!i don't know if this is true or not but if you are one of those people who lie to make themselves look interesting then "plz die". -
Well, at least you narrowed it down.jesus. -
Who hasn't??slash has lied before. -
Axl's driver
in 2006
Yeah we do. Madison, S-p-l-a-t, Mysteron, and Darknemus confirmed it. And to top it all off, Budweiser confirmed that Axl drank a diet coke.We don't even know for sure that Axl really played CD in that club -

You didn't know?? While Mysteron and Jonah are on vacation, and while Darknemus takes a nap, Budweiser is our "insider".Well if what "Budweiser" said was true and he spoke to Beta, then Beta was in Axl's room.
What makes you think Beta was there??
Well if what "Budweiser" said was true and he spoke to Beta, then Beta was in Axl's room.Hoe does "Bud" know about him talking to Beta. Where is this crap coming from??

Axl's driver

Pics-source?On a related note - - The driver was driving an Escalade in NYC this weekend. -
It wasn't that nobody cared, it was the song selection that was a major fuckup, probably the biggest fuckup in the history of the band. Its lukewarm response is most likely the main reason we're still waiting for an album, when we should already be burnt out on 2000 Intentions and Chinese Democracy. It was obviously used to test the waters, and it failed miserably. The second it was released he had to know it was a huge mistake. It obviously caused him to question what he was doing, and back to the drawing board(and cave) he went. When I see people mention just wanting a single "to tide us over", I cringe. A single release without an album is just asking for a repeat of the Oh my god chapter, and would be worst case scenario.
That makes no sense. If Axl wants to put the final nail in the coffin of his career, he'll release a single and wait two years to release the album. Its not 1989-90 anymore. Its CD or bust.obviously everybody loves THE BLUES im sure axl must have picked up on that, so maybe the blues will be released as a single this year and the album CD will come out in 2008. makes sense
I agree, agora. Nobody will care about a single. Remember Oh my God ? Nobody gave a fuck.
Remember, in 1999 he was coming out of his shell. some interviews, Woodstock rumours, Live Era, mentioning CD, soon, etc. Then Oh My God changed all that. We do NOT want a single.

Or maybe you should ask people who have actually experienced the effect that Axl has when he actually does something. I dont know where you are, but here in California there was a huge buzz when the 2002 VMA's happened. Gangbangers talking about it, teens, kids, old people, even my 50 something year old drug dealer was talking about it. oh fuck it. I'm not even gonna finish what I was gonna say. You're just one of the people here that likes to argue about everything.Oh for God's sake ! You should go once in a while to sites of other bands... Or talk to rock fans in general... Most of 'em don't care too much about GN'R and CD release. -

No such thing as a subtle release for CD. He could announce its coming out next week, and not only will the internet explode, but it will be one of the top stories on every news, tv, and radio show, probably worldwide. It doesn't need promotion. The words Axl and Chinese Democracy are enough to guarantee global curiousity. Even starving kids in africa will be trying to barter crumbs of bread for a bootleg copy.trying a subtle release of chinese democracy is crazy. -
You're not kidding. I love that album. One of his more obscure records(I think), and any Neil Young fan should own it. Any Neil Young fan should also have that Philadelphia soundtrack, just to hear his song Philadelphia. It puts Bruce Sprinsteen's award winning 'Streets of Philadelphia' to shame.I have Rust Never sleeps and it is really awesome. -
I totally agree. How can anyone consider Madagascar an anthem?? Or any of the new stuff. Nothing we've heard even comes close to being an anthem. That doesn't mean its bad, its just not gonna catch on like the AFD hits. It doesn't seem like Axl is even aiming for any 'anthemic' music anyways. If he was, he would have pulled one out of his hat during the 2002 tour.the new songs can take a running jump!! no way are they anthemic in the slightest!! -
You wanna hear Get in the Ring?? He would get laughed off the stage if he played that. The song was cheesy back then, because the media conspiracy never existed. It would be pointless now to resurrect it. I see what you're sayin though. I would like to hear some obscure UYI songs as well, but hopefully nothing from AFD. I'm tired of AFD rehash. It dominated the last tour, and made for a weak show. The 2002 tour needed more variety. I would prefer that he play mostly new songs, while throwing in a couple different hits each night for the people that wont be satisfied with just hearing new material.
-
You consider Madagascar and The Blues anthems? Interesting. Those songs must be played alot where you live. In my opinion, the only real GNR anthems are the 3 hits from AFD.
-
Thanks for digging that tidbit of info up. No, it doesn't rule out GNR. Just look at Interview with a Vampire as an example. DVC is gonna be big, and it seems like they would start mentioning GNR in their hype very soon. It would bring even more attention to the film."Oscar®-winner Hans Zimmer will compose the score to Ron Howard's film adaptation of Dan Brown's best-selling novel, The Da Vinci Code."http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=12722
Does this mean that the entire movie soundtrack will most likely just be a score, and not include songs from individual artists?

Dude, I'm not saying CD isn't good. From what little we've heard, its probably going to be great. I just think its odd how the same words are always used to describe it. I think you missed my point. I know that Axl has commented on it, as well as several producers, etc. I was referring to posters who waltz into a forum and say their best friend's grandma's lesbian lover talked to Axl at a bar and was told it was 'amazing'.
I agree. How does everyone pick and choose which of these stories to believe? Do you guys put these peoples names in a hat, pick one, and thats who you believe? Isn't it funny how the word 'amazing' is always used? Or 'mindblowing'? Or 'earth shattering'? They always use terms that bandmembers have used to describe CD, and never go into any detail whatsoever. What does that tell you?If "they" have said it sounds amazin, can "they" tell us anythin else? I dont see why we should believe this and not the other rumours that are remarkably similar to this one!
Grimo.
Maybe CD is actually good? Besides, all I've heard is amazing. I haven't heard 'mindblowing' or 'earth shattering'. Quit making shit up to exaggerate your point. Besides, people have described it. Axl said some arrangements are like Queen, yet some of it may not sound like GN'R. Some others have said it has a Zeppelin-esque vibe to it. You are just choosing certain comments to back up your story, while in reality, people have described the album. If you don't believe it, that's fine. I will agree that people seem to pick and choose which sources to believe and it's annoying, but don't tell me that no one has gone into any details whatsoever. That's shit.

The only way March happens is if Axl doesnt care about major promotion and will let the album sell itself.
Did you realise... ?

This what I think has recently happened. I think the real "insiders" are gradually shutting the forums out of the loop. It has gotten absolutely ridiculous. Certain people bragging about their contacts on a regular basis, and a bunch of fake insiders corrupting what real info is out there. Its bullshit. Merck trying to discredit S-p-l-a-t is the first sign of this. The hotwires from merck to a select group here will also ground to a halt. His info to those few helps nothing in the community. There's always more bragging than any info being told by these people. Dont think for a second that Merck and other insiders dont see what goes on at these forums. Its almost like a 'cult of personality' type situation. The fans worship these people with contacts, while these people gloat about it and think of everyone else as garbage. Its coming to a stop. I'm pretty sure the only reason Mysteron bothered to confirm the Club thing is so the fakes didn't blow it out of proportion. We have heard very little from Merck and other real insiders about the latest happenings. Expect more of the same. The impostors and the self righteousness have basically blew up in our faces.
