Is history repeating itself or what? I wouldn't even be surprised if Friday's night show at MSG isn't the last concert these guys play (the same way it was in 2002). There's just no interest for this glorified cover band until they drop and album and with the poor ticket sales, Axl cancelling shows, the backlash that will result, Axl's fragile ego will want to "quit" once again.
You know I keep trying to figure out why this half-assed tour/no promotion/cryptic releases/blame everyone situation continues to unfold. I think it's quite obvious: Axl Rose has pissed off everyone that ever cared about him or was willing to work with him to succeed, and he's surrounded himself with "Yes" men that don't know what the fuck they are doing. I think it's sort of obvious that Axl needs that counter weight to succeed, but he doesn't have it anymore. To say Merk is the biggest pointless piece of shit manager ever is an understatement.
I work in Public Relations, and that GNR press release that went out yesterday was the worst press release I've ever read. They sound like a bunch of babies blaming everyone but themselves. Poor baby Axl can't light off his fireworks so the show is off? Get the fuck out of here.
Since the beginning of this tour, the end was eminent. When you tour with no album, tour to promote an album that doesn't exist and use hired guns to play music others made famous, and top it all off with hitting the stage at midnight, Axl Rose has produced the worst comeback of his career. At least in 2002 we had Buckethead to wow us...this shit now just sucks.
shut up

Del was 100% right
some people need to get a life and stop feeling the need to over-analyse every little thing as if they're owed something by this band
In other words, stop expressing your passion and you appreciation for this band.
no but stop bitching about things like the band owe it too them to make it different

XFM in scotland, and the DJ started talking about 3 of the biggest albums of the year coming out here on the 20th of November. She said U2's new album, someone elses new album, and then said Chinese Democracy (at this point i almost crashed my car, thought i'd missed something cause i haven't been on here in a few days) but then she added in at the end that it's one of the most eagely anticipated albums, and "Rolling Stone magazine are pretty confident that this is the date."
I've never known disappointment like it..

Axl says he's done most of the sessions for the next 3 albums. so i think most of the stuff will be under lock and key, as it's going to be the material for the next 2 albums. dont see much of it leaking..

Offtopic, but why did Axl say "Fuckin off in G"? What does it mean?
In Rock In RIo this year, before november rain, they did a jam and axl said "that was fucking off in G"
Yes I know, I was there. So he meant the scale. I'm still not sure what the fuck that means though. Doesn't make sense to me. In other words, he plays largely in G scale? Ehh. Whatever. Weird shit.
it was a joke. they were having an impromtue jam, which happened to be in the key of G. so he was trying to give it a funny name, ie. "Fucking Off in G" ..

Looks like there might be some truth afterall to that much-publicized "roast lamb" story.
Here's another article about Axl's appetite for food - whenever and wherever he wants it.
This article appeared in the Aug. 7 edition of the Sydney MX in the "MX Gloss & Glam" column.
Here's the excerpt that talks about Mr. Rose:
GUNS N' Roses singer Axl Rose hit London club Kabaret's Prophecy late last week and after sinking $9960 of vintage Krug champagne, demanded bosses order in a takeaway, Britain's Daily Mirror reports. "At 4am, he was hungry, but didn't want to leave so the club ordered him crispy duck and spare ribs," a reveller said.
so you think richard fortus is a liar, then?
No, I just think Richard Fortus might not be the end-all-authority on what Axl does. After all, most the time Fortus isn't around for the partying. I don't think Richard's even earned the right to travel on Axl Force One.
I think it's reasonable to believe that there are times Richard might not be around to personally witness everything Axl does.
But even still, what do you expect him to say when somebody asks about the roast lamb? He's not going to say, "Oh yea, my boss is a hungry asshole who makes his fans wait." No way.
Honestly, yea, Axl does most of his late night partying with models and other random celebrities, not the rest of his band so how does Richard really know what Axl is or isn't consuming?
who axl does his partying with after shows is irrelevant to the point. this was supposed to have happened during the show that night. richard said he was with him all day, i'm sure that probably includes 10 minutes before the show.
but then again, for those of you who won't believe richard, im sure believing a rumour started by some out-of-the-loop security guard at the arena that night is a better source..?

-
i got some picks on a disposable camera, i've still to get them developed
-
I had a camera in my back pocket in glasgow last night, and only had my front pockets frisked. so i got it in, but most people had all their pockets frisked and didnt get stuff in..
-
I will be drinking beer before the show. Watching GNR. Then getting laid. Such a perfect day.
hah, good times
-
actually i will be the true fan when i stay in the pub till the support band are on and i'll still be at the front for the start of jungle..
-
the SECC tickets say the doors open at 6.00pm
but the ticketmaster website says 7.00pm
does anyone aehv any idea when the doors are actually opening?

i see richard's a good mac user
Probably took him so long because his computer was broken.
why would his mac be broken? given that the quality, security and design of the mac beats the piss out of any pc
that's funny.
It's not funny. It's true.
That's even funnier. Macs are like America Online, for those who can't work computers.
you've just lost all the respect i had for your opinion on the matter..
-
I can't believe you didn't get a pic taken with frank, he was in the background in one of your pics. i bet he felt left out
-
probably something to do with the extra 3000 miles (at least) after england on a plane
You know things are bad...
