I would be the first in line to defend the guy if he had hit the gym and took his own voice seriously between legs of the endless ChiDem tour. It seems he doesn't record albums anymore so touring is his primary job. He has no excuses.

You are just setting the bar ridiculously low for someone making millions by performing his work from 20+ years ago at a very poor level. I don't expect to see a 27 years old on stage. I do think that he should be somewhere between 06' stage presence and 10' voice. The problem is that he doesn't give a fuck and still has lots of delusional enablers to keep him going.

Heck, have you forgotten this was the guy who disappeared from stages for almost a decade? You would expect someone like him to push harder, esp. after what happened to MJ, but no, he's just pulling out an Elvis at this point.

Someone else made a point that "the media" is supposedly praising the concerts. Are you saying we care what the media thinks about this incarnation of the band now? If you do, all I see are snarky comments about black towels, Axl being the only original member and the concerts starting late. I am fluent in Portuguese, so don't BS me with "ermahgerd, the Brazilian media is in love with the band now". They couldn't care less but will report on it. That's the same media reporting that Paris Hilton landed in Rio. They will write an article about any foreigner that was/is a celebrity reinforcing whatever stereotypes were set beforehand.

Not sure when this was taken, but to me this was the best he's looked in the Nu-Gunz era - a great mix of old and new.

I don't see a reunion happening at all. I'd be surprised if Axl shows for the ceremony, but my expectations are some crappy young bands covering some classic Appetite songs with awkward TV cuts to Slash and Duff rockin out.

Thanks for that summary coga. I live in South Philly and am considering PATCO instead of driving (mostly because I don't want to struggle to find parking in my neighborhood when we get home at 3 am) - your info was helpful.

I think the ferry stops in October. Besides, no guarantee it will be around when the show ends at 2 am. PATCO might work, but you'd probably have to take a taxi from the closest station to the venue (not sure which one goes closest).

Maybe it's my eyes, but that looks barely half sold to me. For a Saturday show in a major city on a holiday weekend, I expected more. Oh well, we'll see.

My wife (then girlfriend) and I had real good floor seats for that show. We were in front of someone who was on the phone with a relative who was working security at the FU Center as Mixmaster Mike went on and on and then eventually stopped. This woman got word over her cell phone that "Axl's not coming" and like 10 minutes later we heard the crowd start to murmur. We got out of there before any announcement was made and bolted before the riot started. Crazy night.

Pit tickets were available this morning at 10. I got a pair, then decided I wanted to try to be more center-oriented and back a few and scored a pair in section 102.

I guess the Pit sold out shortly after I got mine.

These tix are gonna be impossible, thats all I can say. I"m going to do everything I can to get them....

why would you run to Merck and tell him that tracks were leaked right away? that makes no sense. make him come to you and explain what happened. if they cared so much about these tracks getting out, they'd make a statement.
