  1. Memorable Axl rant at 1:30:00 from this show just before Patience. The Boston gig shortly after Albany was more tight in my opinion. Great memory of going to the last 3 shows of that tour. For me the highlights in 2002 were: Nightrain with the Buckethead solo, Patience was nice, Madagascar is stronger with Finck back vocals at the end, Think About You was played at about every show.

I just wish the 2002 lineup would have got the chance to play This I Love and Better.

  2. If the old band from the mid '90 would have stayed together, I think they should have rather wrote something more in line with Appetite without even putting out an obvious radio single. Something 100% written by Izzy with vocals from Axl, guitar solos from Slash and bass lines of Duff. This would have been killer to have something closer to the roots.

Listening to the Like A Dog album from Izzy, that's what I would have seen to be working out.

This other Izzy song from his Smoke album could have been a GNR classic with the rest of the band adding to it.

  3. It's too bad former and present members have to be separated like this

It's just that the band moved on. Some wants to enjoy the ride while it goes. Others cannot accept it and nearly insist the clock should go back. These two visions how things go aren't easy to put together.

In 2012 the simple fact is that neither Slash nor Axl wants to work with each others. It's kind of pointless to say much more about it the way I see. People can always argue who's right who's wrong, but that does not bring much.

  4. The way it has been going since 2009, we are far away from the dark time in 1994 to 1999 and also 2003 to 2006.

I just saw the band earlier this week. People can argue about details, but overall it's a much stronger show than in 2010. The overall show production also seems better. They even cut on the cheesy formula one footage during You Could Be Mine. I noticed the crowd reacted more strongly this year on the Chinese Democracy tracks. In Strasbourg, people went nuts during Shackler's Revenge and the applause was strong after This I Love. Compared this to 2002 and even 2010 which had more quiet reception to the new songs. I'd love this band to play Prostitute, There Was A Time and Catchers. I think they would need to add these songs to the regular setlist for a few weeks until they would be played strongly. Still to hear a band play 7 new songs during a show, it's not bad. It's not like we've been hearing This I Love, Sorry and Shacklers' played live since a decade yet. The playlist order changes are cool when you read set lists on the net, but when you actually attend the show it's rather satisfying to hear what they play now.

I'm ready to get a new GNR album. In the meantime, I had a blast at their show this year. I will be happy if I see them again next year.

  5. I totally dig Chinese Democracy. This clip of Sorry is great. I look forward to hear it at the show in June.

For those who like Slash, he got a new album and new tour. It's totally 100% Slash and they will have fun with it. Whoever dig Adler as a drummer can hear his album and also read his daily interview. Good for them. I guess Duff will get around doing some more music.

Everyone will get more music out of these guy and should enjoy it. You cannot hold them to get back together. Live goes on, things change, and if you don't like that just keep watching your old DVDs at home. ;-)

  6. I fully agree with Axl. The RRHOF set the tone by trying to ignore what Guns N Roses did in the last 15 years or so. Steven pushed it further in the days following the announcement by already splitting with Sorum the drumming duties at the celebration. It sounded like "Ok, fine with Axl messing around, but lets get back to where 1993 left". It would have been the minimum to at least invite people who contributed to Chinese Democracy.

On a side note, I am delighted to see these reunion wishers calling it the end for them. We can finally get back to the European tour and hopefully to talk about a new album sometime in the future. A couple of negative bashing jumping out of the ship will only make it more enjoyable.

  7. It's laughable that people keep whining that promoters or even the record labels don't make the highest profit when dealing with Guns N' Roses. Obviously Mojo Concert did very good business with the packed venue. I'm thankful about the bus organization which was well worth its 4 Euro ticket. There were a couple of people throwing drinks on the crowd before GNR got on stage, but they continued during the show as well.

Whenever I see a club show, the headliner won't start before 22h or 23h. Perhaps some people should stick to Rod Stewart or Supertramp to get an evening that better match their lifestyle. Were all these reviews coming from retirement home newspapers? ;-)

Oh and by the way the show was awesome. My highlights were Street of Dreams was played much more tight during that show than what I expected, Shackler's Revenge was nice to have, Don't Cry was so smooth and Welcome To The Jungle was played to perfection.

  8. Does anyone can recommend a way to reach the venue and how to return back to the city center without a car?

I'm traveling to Arnhem by train tomorrow. The last time I saw the band was in New York City back in 2002. Their set will be a bit different this time, with more new songs!
