  1. Well I hope the ones that got to go had a great time. All I know is that Axl cares for his bands safety and his own safety. I give him props for ending the set.

Maybe the 'fans' that threw bottles on stage were the ones that were going to miss the transport home due to the late start.

  2. i think the reason why the press 'dislike' them so much is that fact it's not the original band.

that really fucking frustrates me to my wits end.

Radio 1 & the idiots on bbc three lap up shit like qotsa - well that's not the original band either (nick oliveri was a very integral part of the band), but they never ever mention it.

oasis are (were) another band that didn't keep all the original members......once again, never mentioned.

that list could go on & on.

i would like to read a proper, proper review from someone who was there commenting on the crowds reaction more than anything else.

  3. He concludes: "There's no grudge against Guns N' Roses and rather than point the finger elsewhere they'd do better to acknowledge that fans have had enough of being treated so shabbily. I haven't read or heard one good word from anyone else about that show last night - the worst headline performance I have seen in the 11 years that VF has been covering festivals. I was embarassed to be a Guns N' Roses fan and desperately hope they can salvage a trace of their former glory at Leeds."

Yeah right, no grudge. Fucking asshole :rofl-lol:

erm....take off your rose tinted specs.

good lord, if they play Leeds, i fear the trainwreck will go to another level.

  4. Guns N' Roses hit back at Reading boss

Guns N' Roses have claimed they had the power pulled on them last night at Reading due to a personal grudge against them by festival boss Melvin Benn.

Despite arriving on-stage an hour late and having their curfew extended by an unprecedented 30 minutes, the headliners are now claiming that their set was cut short as the result of a historical vendetta against them and had less to do with council legislations as officially stated by the organisers today. Click here for our report of the show.

The sensational accusation was made by new guitarist DJ Ashba on his Facebook Page, posting: "They pulled the power, but failed to kill the connection as 90,000 people sang Paradise City."

Responding to fans' comments, he subsequently added: "Apparently the promoter has had a personal grudge with GN'R stemming from 8 years ago, if this was the case why book the band? He knows our show. Let me guess... To take our fans money and then not allow us to give them a show that they pay...ed (sic) for."

The '8 years ago' refers, presumably, to GNR's headline appearance at Leeds Festival in 2002, when they once again went on an hour late and Benn was forced to obtain a license extension during the show. On that occasion the band were allowed to complete their set in full. However, the Festival Republic boss had stated publicly last week that this would not happen if the band came on late this time at either Reading or Leeds.

On this, Ashba notes: "The promoter was already being a cocky f$#k in the press before we arrived, so yes we went on a little late, and for this we apologies (sic)."

He extends his personal attack against Benn, stating: "This was clearly not a curfew thing because after cutting our power like a selfish money grubbing (sic) prick, he allowed music blasting through out the venue till the early morning. For us this was all about the fans, the show and the music. For the promoter it was all about the money and not about the fans or the music. Our fans payed (sic) to see a show, and that's why we showed up, too give them just that."

In defense of the festival organisers, Virtual Festivals founder and self-confessed Guns N' Roses obsessive Steve Jenner, who was in the front row for the whole show, says: "DJ Ashba is doing his duty and rallying behind his team, as he should, but his comments are well wide of the mark."

On the grudge accusations, Steve adds: "Reading's license permits amplified music to run later in certain areas of the site and smaller arenas, but explicitly prohibits this from taking place on the main stage. Furthermore, we have seen Melvin and the Festival Republic team bend over backwards to accommodate the nuances of this band, including extending the license to midnight - something I have never experienced before at this event and you can bet that Arcade Fire and Blink 182 won't be getting the same treatment.

Despite Axl Rose claiming on-stage at Reading that their Leeds show was off "due to tonight", representatives of the festival have confirmed that the band is still scheduled to headline.

Stay tuned to VF to find out what happens and follow the rest of the action from both Reading and Leeds festivals.

    -----------------------------------------------

might mean gnr changed their mind...

    jesus christ!

i fucking hate this band lol!

  6. What the fuck is going on.

There's a stream that says "live" on BBC's Reading and Leeds site right now, but the band that's on isn't GnR...

that guy playing guitar looks like an uncle. (on the nme stage)

  7. No GNR stream tonight...

WTF is wrong with GNR managment???!

I don't think this has got anything to do with GNR management.

    please explain.

why o why wouldn't the bbc show coverage of the headline act @reading?

this stinks of the_ fucking bumming each other, in the circle wank-off tossers that think gn'r are some ultra exclusive band.

  8. These mega lol guys have over done it with their personal stylists.

the lead singer's haircut just needs to be a little longer and he would resemble a cupcake

the singers vioce is fucked he sounds awful lol

the band is the lost prophets for fucks sake!

so the ginger nutjob is backstage then?

  9. hi all, really really looking forward to tonight. (the wife has even got me beers in)!

i'll be recording the 10.30 show on my v+hd thingymebob, if it goes to the red button for extensive highlights can i record that?

  10. Yep, heard it on the radio today in London. Tickets go on sale Friday.

What's the chances we'll see another sell out?

if they win the 'doubters' over at reading/leeds, it'll sell out no problem - i personally think they'll go down a storm this weekend, gn'r are getting good press coverage in the uk at the mo, fuckinghell even radio 1 are getting excited!

  11. Here in the UK, as place where Guns N’Roses used to mean a lot, today (4th August 2010) Axl gets a mention in The Sun news paper (one the most popular tabloid’s in Britain). They mention GUNS N’ROSES, then go on to refer to the band as AXL ROSE and Co, which is about right really. They didn't show and photo's which is probably a good thing, as we all know, they tend to show images of UYI era GN'R ;)

    AxlandCo02Arena2010.gif

    gordon smart does like gn'r.

he said good things about chinese democracy when it was released, & i bet any money he'll be there at the o2.

  12. Well, I got back home today from Moscow… Wow, it was historical moment of my life I never forget. It`s just so surreal to see the MAN in 15 steps. Ok, here my review. We`ve been waiting for Danko Johnes around 20 minutes. And there were people who were waving photos of Slash. I had one too, we got it from the chicks around Olympiyskiy with T-shirts “I LOVE SLASH”. They were promoting show of Slash which will be in Mocsow 14.07. Then I looked at people waving pictures of Slash I hoped they stop doing it at Guns show (some bad things might would happen). Anyway, show of Danko James started. I didn`t know anything about them. But ~m going to know better, cause I liked them. I liked their funny and charismatic singer. I liked their music and the way they played. I think it was kind of rude then Danko was talking to the audience about how here glad to be in Russia but the crowd didn`t listening to him and were screaming GUNS N ROSES. Ok, nevermind. They played their set and we began to wait…. We`ve been waiting 1.5 hour. We all were dehydrated. Some people got angry. Some began shouting “Fuck you Axl”. That made me nervous. But suddenly the lights go down…. And I saw the MAN. I just can`t describe my feelings. It was so surreal. Chinese… then Jungle… I think I hurted my voice in these 2 songs already (anyway I sang all songs). The band was so tight and cool. They were always smiling. There were 5 year girl in VIP zone and they often show here on screen. That was really cute. I think in SCOM video Axl pointed at her to Ashba. Ashba was so friendly, always smiling and giving respect to the audience. Love him so much. My favorite solos were Bond`s theme by Fortus (liked the way he played it) and Dizzy`s Stardust (liked then people clapping during the music). Solo of Bumlefoot were great too. He was in t-shirt Fuck up and pointed finger at these two words. Oh, also he was in traditional Russian winter hat called “Shapka-ushanka” (“hat with ears”). And Axl wore some interesting stuff. At the beginning he had shirt with Lenin who had a finger pointed at smth and on Paradise city he had shirt with USSR and the emblem of it. That made me laugh. During KOHD Axl looked at me, and I was screaming KNOCK KNOCKING the hell out of me. I was waiting when Axl woul sing his part and after that we would sing it. But we just sang all the time and Axl gave this song to us. That was really cool. There were some haters around me. They didn`t even shout at the end of the sond and didn`t clap. All what they did is bitching shit like that: They don`t play Estranged cause it`s hard to play technically, but slash would do it…. Or Their guitar solos are too clean, but slash always played it roughly…. I even heard then after 3 song some jerk said It`s fucking shit (it would be roughly on Russian just don`t know these words), my mother would play better…. I just don`t undersand why the fuck those people going to the shows. Hey haters, if you reading this, go fuck yourself, we don`t need your negative energy, fuckin energetic vampires. As you once said, FUCKHEADS GO HOME!!!

Well, that was greatest show I ever seen. I liked the end of PC with salute. And then they came on stage… all with good mood…Axl with beer… I didn`t want to go away… I wanted to take some vodka with all these guys till I drop… Axl said some kind words… Hope he visit us again.

Fuck reunion. Axl is the best frontman EVER. GUNS`N`FUCKING`ROSES FOREVER

    sounded like a great gig.

the one thing that's slightly worrying is the haters in the crowd. you think that was harsh, wait 'till they play reading , not leeds (they'll go down great there), reading is the real test if you ask me.

  13. There's a pretty big bounty for ChiDem instrumentals on one of the major bit torrent music trackers. Thats all I want from these files. instrumentals. The old 2006 instrumentals of TWAT, Better and IRS were fucking awesome. Even though the quality was shit.

which major bit torrent music trackers?

i'm a member of 2 of the most exclusive ones & there is nothing about the multitracks on there.
