  1. Great thread idea.

I can sleep fine most of the time. My biggest problem is that I don't like going to bed, unless I'm ill or particularly tired I feel at my best in the early hours so I push it further than I should. I'm a bit anti social at heart so I like having a silent house all to myself and this rarely happens before midnight.

I slightly regret it every single morning but never learn.

This is kind of my issue. Not the antisocial bit, as I live by myself. My problem is that I'm a major night owl. I work in schools, so this is totally fine during the breaks in the school year, when I can stay up and sleep in as late as I want. I struggle a lot during the school year though because I just can't get myself to bed at a decent hour. On the occasion that I do make it to bed at a good time, I have a hard time falling asleep because I can't turn off my brain. I just end up thinking about how weird life is or wanting to check things out online for a while. Then my most sound sleep isn't until right before my alarm is gonna go off. I roll out of bed super tired, and promise myself that I'll go to sleep earlier that night, but it just doesn't happen. Womp womp. I take melatonin pretty frequently, but I'm not sure it makes a difference. If anything, it might just have a placebo effect on me at this point.

Anyways, thank goodness for the weekends and breaks in the school year. TGIF, motherfuckers.

My biggest success at improving my sleep is taking magnesium.  Magnesium helps the body stay asleep.  Its also essential to help the body absorb calcium and calcium aides in falling asleep.  Good news: dark chocolate is very high in magnesium.  As little as two squares gets you started with a good percent of your daily value.

Never heard of magnesium as something that could help before. I think I'll try this dark chocolate trick. In the name of science, of course.

Just got Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

I'm actually partway through Dracula now. Started it while on vacation this past summer but let it sit until about 2 days ago.

I worked at a bookstore in college and picked up this bookmark right before I graduated. I've been slowly trying to knock some books off the list ever since. Totally thought Dracula was on the bookmark but am just now realizing it's not. The book's obviously a classic, so I'm looking forward to getting through it regardless.

    Foo Fighters- Concrete and Gold

I am seeing them in a few weeks, can't fucking wait! They always put on a good show.

They do put on a good show! I didn't realize how much I liked the Foo Fighters til I caught them live a couple of years ago. So much fun. Managed to snag myself a ticket for their show in my college town in November, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I've been really into "Run" and "The Sky Is A Neighborhood" lately, but have only given the album a full play once so far. Second listen commencing now.

Where is the meetup?  Any idea on if they are going to be putting merchandise on sale earlier than the show??

What has been decided for the pre-show?  I'm going to try to make it.

The fan meetup is tonight at Hair of the Dog, which is at 1212 Washington Ave. in STL. It starts at 7 pm, but I read that the bar is open til 3 am, so I imagine the party will be going strong for a pretty decent amount of time. :P I don't believe there are any "official" plans for a pre-show gathering tomorrow, but it sounds like there are lots of bars near the venue. I'm sure those will be full of fellow fans doing some celebrating.

As far as merch goes, I do think that some stands usually open outside the venue prior to doors. I'm not sure what time the merch stands usually open, but maybe someone else can answer that better than I can.

wow my hotel just called me a hour before i leave to inform me my hotel is out of power and won't be able to stay

That totally sucks. Have you checked out America's Best Value Inn on 3rd St.? It's super close to the Dome, and has by far been the cheapest place that close to the venue available these past couple of months. Doesn't seem like the nicest of places, but if you're just looking for a place to have as your home base, I'd say check it out. I was originally planning to stay there, but ended up scoring a nearby Airbnb earlier this month.

The show last night was amazing. I flew in from LA yesterday morning just to go to it. I got front row center tickets off stub hub at the last minute and had the time of my life. Axl's energy, mood and performance are completely different with AC/DC. You can tell he is genuinely having fun up there. There are times when you just see him watching angus and smiling like a little kid watching his favorite guitarist. It's awesome.

Also, me and my lady were going to a bar late last night after the show and drove by the sheraton hotel and saw tour buses and crowds of people, so we stopped and went there only to find ac/dc was signing and taking photos. I just missed the line for Angus but waited around about an hour and Axl arrived and signed for everyone (unfortunately by that time it was mostly dealers) and took pictures with everyone. He was really nice and even mentioned that he remembered us from being right up front at the show.

What a memorable trip! That is awesome. Out of curiosity - around what time did you run into Axl?

How does one go about upgrading?  Looks like there are some standard tix closer than my current seats in B5

Just call Ticketmaster and explain that you would like to upgrade your tickets. You can tell them specifically what section you would like to upgrade to and they will hopefully make it happen. The number is 1 (800) 653-8000. You'll need your order number, phone number linked to your account, and the last four digits of the credit card you used on the order.

The first guy we reached this morning said we couldn't do same-day upgrades. Called again immediately after and an amazing lady was able to make the change for us. So, if you have any trouble on your first try, try again. :)

yes  just got a Pit 1 On ticketmaster now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting. I was able to upgrade my last seats in A6 to GA just before they ran out.

Sooo, now I'm selling just one pair in GA Pit 1.

Also, I am ridiculously excited for the shows this weekend. Can't believe it's finally here!!

Edit: My extra pair has sold.

Okay that's kind of what I figured.  I'll have to check if they lowered the face value on any of the tickets for that show...anyone know if they ever do that if a show is struggling to sell like this one is?  Worst case I should be able to move quite a bit closer in the same level.

I know they've lowered the prices on tickets to the second Chicago show, so maybe you'll be in luck. Not sure if prices have dropped for any other cities or not.

Forgive me for being the noob here AND asking what is probably a dumb question...I see people mentioning calling TM and some having luck exchanging tix for the shows that still show plenty of tickets available.  I have 2 tickets to Sunday's show in Chicago that's still showing a ton of tickets available.  Okay, for the dumb part: Do you have to pay the difference in face value of the tickets or are they doing this for free in certain cases?  I'm also a Nighttrain member if that helps at all.  Thanks for having me!

You have to pay the difference if you're upgrading to a more expensive seat. If your desired seat is in the same price range, though, there should be no charge.

Olga, I requested an exchange for my 2 tix to the PIT and they said they will let me know within 72 hours due to Box Office Discretion.Did you have to wait at all? Hope they let me know within 72 hours, cuz  the show IS this Friday...

I didn't have to wait. It took about a 20 minute phone call, but the representative was able to confirm that he made the switch before I hung up. My boyfriend had called earlier to upgrade his tickets and had the same experience that I did. Hope they're able to make the change for you! They put you in a tough position by saying you have to wait to find out if it went through or not.

  11. FYI, Ticketmaster has now released GA tickets in both sections. I was able to call earlier to upgrade my seats to GAs. Hope that helps some of y'all.

I'm still selling 2 in A6 and 1 in GA1 right now. I know I'm not likely to sell now that seats are readily available in all sections on Ticketmaster, but if any kind souls need tickets, I am happy to share mine.

Edit: The GA has sold. A6 still available.

Edit 2: I was able to upgrade my A6 to GA Pit 1 this morning, so I am now selling a pair in that section.

Edit 3: All tickets have sold.

Bought this week a plane ticket from Amsterdam to Chicago and one ticket for each show (will go on my own). For 1st of July, no GA was available anymore two days ago, so I bought a ticket in section A3. Now suddenly GA tickets appear again, and I was wondering whether anyone has (positive) experience with Ticketmaster exchanging tickets for a better section within 7 days of the event? Or should I try on the day of the event at the "will call" office?

My boyfriend and I both called earlier and were able to upgrade our tickets with no problem. :)
