  1. Best show I've been to. The band sounded great despite some of the drumming, thunderchucking songs that don't require it. Sorry sounded great, was surprised with Slash, really did a great job.  Though that song caused everyone to sit down or make a food run. People were just not familiar with it. Better and CD got the best reception of the CD material played. Was hoping for Slither during the Encore, I think that would be a great song to replace the seeker. Glad we got Don't Cry which was great. It was a great live show, 9.5/10.

  2. After these shows the guys should just go into the recording studio for a few months and come up with all new songs entirely. 10-12 for the new album. This would be a great reconnecting and bonding experience for the band, instead of rererecording songs that are like 15-20 years old now. Maybe release those songs as a bonus or something. If that material was great, I'm sure we would've heard it by now. Slash is probably more interested in that instead of rerecording parts first done Finck, then Buckethead, then Bumblefoot, then DJ Ashba. Those songs are probably a mess now with parts from 3 decades. Wipe the slate clean, record brand new gnr music. Bring in Izzy if he is willing, though the lyrics to that new song he released "walking down the street" aren't much to write home about.

  3. I can see him being out If it's about the money. I mean, why pay an extra keyboardist/synth member? Maybe he just got his pink ticket in the mail. Or maybe the final lineup isn't/wasn't finalized and he got the boot to make way for a full reunion. I can't see him being that dumb to tweet about being told to shut up unless there was a shake up. Or that's just his way of telling fans to stop asking him about GNR topics since he can't talk about it.

  4. Perhaps a last minute decision to cancel because it's a live show on when half the country is asleep. May not be the best time for the official annoncement. This has been known for a few hours now, I'm sure if this meant that things were off Slash and Duff would've said so and moved on. Though I would've expected something from Kimmel saying it has been cancelled unless they are still searching for a fill in guest and break the news on tonight's show. Though the 1 ton elephant in the room is this being Axl and GNR -- things don't go according to plan in most instances.

  5. I agree, some songs just didn’t warrant a release on a major GNR record, but they are still good songs, with the exception of 1 or 2. Keep the ten best songs on each disk:

    UYI 1:

    Dust N’ Bones

    Don’t Cry

    Perfect Crime

    Bad Obsession

    Double Talkin’ Jive

    November Rain

The Garden (Perhaps have Axl sing the whole song, might make it better)

    Don’t Damn Me

    Dead Horse

    Coma

    UYI 2:

    Civil War

    14 Years

    Yesterdays

    KOHD

    Breakdown

    Pretty Tied Up

    Locomotive

    Estranged

    You Could Be Mine

Don’t Cry Alt (perhaps replace with Garden of Eden here)

    Package it as one product.

Put the others on an added bonus disk.

We have a package that could’ve outsold Appetite.

  6. I think Axl should stop trying to make the records sound like other styles or try to force an influence on the music because that approach doesn’t work so well. It has to be so unfulfilling because he’s trying to make the songs sound like something else than what they were formulated as. Adding sounds here and there to what end? Just take the guys into a studio for a month or two and create a proper/original album that reflects the musicians in the band like other bands do. When you go in trying to make the album sound like this or that, the issue is being forced and the potential of the music being created greatly diminishes. But that’s just like… my opinion. Every musician is influenced by their peers but doesn’t mean you have to try to create songs that directly showcase your influence. If you want to create an Elton John type ballad or a NIN industrial rock song, go in with that in mind, but let the other musicians evolve the song and create a song that represents the entirety of the band. ONly one album (a good album) since the old band broke up is telling of that struggle.

  7. At this point, GNR is just Axl touring the old albums with a sprinkle of CD to keep the guys thinking they’re in a band. Either the label is not interested in a new album with original material or Axl is too paranoid, lazy or demoralized to hand over a record to the label. I think the label would rather release a CD with old material anyway because it would sell more. A best of album would most likely be released within the next few years if a new album isn’t released. The label probably still holds out hope the original band will get back together and make an album that’s why they probably haven't released another greatest hits or best of albums to rid them of GNR. Whatever the contract is, it’s getting pretty damn close for the label to go nuclear and start releasing shit without Axl’s consent. Love GNR, but nothing is ever going to change. It's always been this way. When it's official that's when we will know. There will be no chatter or hints. Only a handful of people know whats going on and that doesn't include the rest of the band members. Buckethead left because of this same exact shit. It took a deal with best buy to release the last record, I don't see another deal like that happening, especially with the current "management." As long as the paycheck is big, the Band (employees) will stick around.

  8. In a few years if the cash flow begins to deteriorate because there are no more new albums and the current band begins to breakdown because members are frustrated with the lack of new material… Perhaps, a very cynical perhaps, money will change minds and a reunion will occur with a world tour. Doubtful, but that’s the only way a reunion will occur from this point forward in my view.

  9. I was somewhat disappointed with Burn after Reading. The idea of the film was hilarious and the cast was awesome, Malkovich owned, but the film fell flat a lot of times. There were only 4 scenes that were very funny. It's not in the class of Fargo, Lewbowski, or O' Brother. I put it in the class of the likes of The Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruelty.
