ffrankwhite
Thanks Frankie. What about Kind Of Blue?Brilliant. but its more of a tasters choice kinda selection. Not that BB isnt, its just BB is kinda...dark as well as free and freaky, its kinda different. if ya dig BB then Miles is the man for you

Lithium
I think the best place to start would be Kind of Blue, followed by one of the earlier albums like Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet and then either Bitches Brew or Sketches of Spain. Miles is really great, he got me into jazz. Edited July 23, 2008 by Lithium
SunnyDRE
I actually think the best way for you to start is to read his autobiography.

Randy Lahey
My favorite Miles Davis album is In A Silent Way. I also have Bitches Brew, On The Corner, and Kind Of Blue. I'd recommend starting with the Charles Mingus album, The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady. It's the greatest jazz album ever recorded in my opinion. bax
You really can't go wrong with Miles, but I'd have to agree Bitches Brew is the shit. It's an absolutely mind-blowing album.
Lithium
Bitches Brew is perhaps one of the best albums ever made, but I don't think the best place to start is an album that is so experimental and unique. That's at least my experiences from that sort of albums.
