alfa75 Posted May 6, 2011 Share Posted May 6, 2011 Having seen GnR several times (in various incarnations) I am puzzled by the seeming omission of most of the UYI material live, I can only remember You could be Mine and November Rain having been played live since the UYI tours in the 90s. Don't Cry and Heaven's door as well , but these were played live well before UYI was released. I am referring specifically to songs written between AFD and UYI, ie Estranged, Coma, Civil War, Perfect Crime, Double talkin Jive, etc. I would understand if the the purpose was just to promote Chinese or whatever the current record may be, but the the setlists usually contain well over half of AFD, which is great, by why the neglect of some of the great UYI material? Is there some reluctance to play that material either by you or the new guys, who didn't help write it? Did the new guys not learn those songs? Do you no longer like or relate to that material?
