its more like 13 yrs.

i told you that axl has to deliver a succesful tour first before the record company decides to take him seriously again...so all he's doing now is completing the job he started in 2002.

that's all.

it was called a chi dem tour then also....i don't see why you're so surprised about all this, when it is pretty clear what they're doing.

On topic: MJ has sold over 300 million albums, had 6 albums reach #1, and had 41 #1 singles.........I'm sure Axl wishes he could boast those kind of numbers.

Some truth there though.

There are acts that do stadiums over there that couldn't do a stadium over here without giving away free tickets.

I agree there probably are bands like that, but to say ALL bands is just fucking bollocks. And Europe is different depending on what country you're talking about. Selling out a stadium in Germany and England is very different. It's just ignorant t say "Europe" like we're all the same.

Axl is such a pretend badass, but deep down inside, he does care what the media think and how the reaction is by us internet losers. That's why he rants. Back in the day, Axl never had to deal with this sort of backlash. Sure he was criticized for his wild antics, but he was cool and the band was the original lineup and America loved them! America does not love this new band, in fact, most of America thinks Axl is a dipshit for breaking up GNR. While some people on this board think Axl is a god, the poor ticket sales are proof that the Axl show is of no interest to most.

Here we go again. So this, what, 4 show old tour is already an abysmal failure, despite the raving media reviews (save for a few criticisms, generally punctuality-related)?

America does not love this new band because they don't know this new band. Blame that on the lack of CD and the lack of media coming from the band's management.

The poor ticket sales are an indication of one thing, and one thing alone: Lack of media coverage. There is virtually no advertising and no promotion for these shows. It really has nothing at all to do with how popular Axl or the new GNR lineup may or may not be.

Also, once CD drops, it's not going to be the flash of lightening people think. GNR concerts will not just miraculously start selling out. When people go see their favorite rock band, they go to see members of the entire band. Nobody in America gives a fuck about seeing Robin, Tommy, Dizzy, Richard, Bumble...they just don't. All of you die hard fans that lick Axl's nuts, open your ears at the show and listen to the people around you as they go, "Who's that?" "Where's Slash?" "Who's in the band?"

It's not? Hey, since you've heard the album, can you send me a copy? I'd love to hear it. Again, this all has to do with a lack of promotion. When we start seeing music videos after an album has dropped from this lineup, and then people still cry about the new lineup, then maybe you'll have a point. Up until now, all we have is a live act, pretty much.

In essence, this is the same tour as 2001-2; minus the promise that CHinese D will ship this year (funny, no release date and Axl doesn't mention it in concert, that's wonderful promotion!). People, 5 fucking years later and it's still the Chinese Democracy World Tour featuring all of your favorite songs from Appetite. Retarded.

After watching Axl's rant in Puerto Rico (is this guy an idiot, bitching about Iowa to Puerto Ricans?), I almost feel sorry for Axl because he's such a total joke now. He says they want to put on the best show possible? How can the best GNR show possible include songs like My Michelle, Out to Get Me, YCBM and not Estranged, Yesterdays and Don't Cry? Regardless.

This is not the same tour. It's a totally different situation. We have (unfinished) studio material that we've all heard. And we hear a good 3-5 songs from an album that hasn't been released yet at every show. Have you been to a concert lately? I've never been to a show where a new album got that much play time, and that's after it's been released. They play the old shit because it's what people know. 99% of the world goes to see GNR to hear Sweet Child, Welcome to the Jungle, and Paradise City. They don't even know Better exists yet. There's no reaction to the new songs during the shows because people don't know the lyrics...what are they supposed to do, hum along?

And yes, Axl ranted about Iowa to the crowd in PR. Damn those potatos. That was one line, a sarcastic one at that, in a rant about something completely valid. The point was about people who don't go to shows but still cry about them. Sounds familiar.

The best show would not include Estranged, Yesterdays, and Don't Cry (A.) which Axl has good reason for not wanting to play, and B.) Ron DOES play this song as an instrumental, in case you've been under a rock), because the show is already slowed down too much by various things. Don't get me wrong, Estranged is one of my favorite songs, but it just doesn't belong in a show that already includes Madagascar, The Blues, November Rain, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, and twelve solos.

Dude, really. This stuff is getting old. Think of the children. :no:

Tell me you're not arrogant enough to actually believe that. If you think Europeans think all American's are just gosh darn swell, and anyone of them that comes here can sell out a stadium, I've got some upsetting news for you buddy. The reason GNR fare better in Europe is because Europe is a bigger rock market (proportionally) than the US. I've seen plenty of American artists get bottled off the stage, so think again.

Leigh I'm very disappointed in you! Hostel is just pure shit! Boring, laughable (not in a good way) in places, and has the worst ending ever! Is just pure gore with some soft porn thrown in! Saw 1 & 2 had me on the edge of my seat with suspense.. Something that was severely lacking in Hostel!

Aussie, I'm looking forward to seeing it! All the clips I've seen online have been hilarious and the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

Leigh, I'm not into horror movies, but they've already started working on Saw III.
