  1. I don't know what you guys are listening to. Even if you don't like it, it's pretty inoffensive. What is utter garbage about it? What sounds like shit about Scott's voice?

Yeah ok I don't like weilends voice so I admit I'm being judgemental to a degree but the first track was just a generic rock/metal shite boring riff with effortless (in a negative not positive way!) vocals.

Second - that's the type of recording old old rockers like Ozzy get when when they're signing abilities are gone, IMO -- affects? Yeah, layered shite. Hated it.

    Hey, you asked! Ha.

Ok UK SUBS... you know nothing about music and singing and rcording I guess, am I right?

    Im a music fan

Not sure how less qualified that makes me? I'm offering an opinion based on my experience of music - and good ears.

    How's your resume?

I'm also a music fan and a musician myself. Also with good ears :D

And these samples sound pretty kick-ass!

  3. SIXX: A.M. frontman James Michael says that the band is "planning a big tour" in support of its upcoming third album, "Modern Vintage", which he calls "our best record so far."

Due on October 7 via Eleven Seven Music, the CD "taps into a classic energy and transforms it into focused, fresh, and fiery ass-kicking anthems that encompass everything from sexy, swaggering rock 'n' roll, alternative expanse, blues bliss, and even a little ragtime flavor," according to ARTISTdirect.

Regarding SIXX: A.M.'s approach on "Modern Vintage", Michael tells Lithium Magazine: "We wanted to make a record that was in the spirit of the type of rock records that we liked growing up, from bands like QUEEN, Elton John, David Bowie, T.REX — those types of records. And it wasn't so much sonically that we were aiming for, it was to capture the spirit of how those records were actually made back then. And that really speaks more to the performances and to the songwriting side of it."

He adds: "In this day and age what we have come to realize is that people's perception of what makes a rock record, or what qualifies as a rock record has become very narrow recently. And we want to let people know that rock and roll is bigger than what is currently being peddled out there."

In addition to Michael, SIXX: A.M. features MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx and GUNS N' ROSES guitarist DJ Ashba. The band was formed formed to provide the soundtrack to Sixx's autobiography, "The Heroin Diaries", but quickly evolved into something much bigger than was originally planned.

"I have said this a lot, but it really is true: SIXX: A.M. is three friends that were brought together by music, but we're absolutely not held together by music. SIXX: A.M. music is a by-product of this terrific friendship that has grown between the three of us," Michael tells Lithium Magazine.

Once MÖTLEY CRÜE is done with its farewell tour, there are plans afoot for SIXX: A.M. to do a major international tour for the first time.

"It's a very thrilling time for us," James says. "MÖTLEY CRÜE is doing its final tour and a lot of doors are going to open up for us.

"We are so excited to be able to put SIXX: A.M. at the forefront of all of our lives.

"For the first two records, we weren't sure we were a band. And now we are so excited with this new album and the future that we know we are. We truly feel the sky is the limit.

"We are planning a big tour right now, and everything feels like it's happening at the right time."

  4. Silly question. One is the last great rock n' roll band, the guys who actually wrote the songs, on the biggest tour of their career in support of an actual album. The other is Axl and a bunch of hacks playing 'the hits' in Vegas to a bunch of tourists.

Well, they do play five Chinese-era songs, along with the classics. Plus Tommy plays one of his solo songs.

The 2012 is just a far better performance, IMHO.

    2012 better performance? :D U must be high :D

Watching Appetite For Democracy now--it's fucking great. I don't agree with the notion that this is a "tribute band;" this is Guns N' Roses circa 2012 and the current lineup does a fantastic job playing the classics. Maybe the band had an off-night on the 1992 show--but they sounded and looked bloated, tired, etc. The Guns N' Roses that plays the Vegas show looks and sounds far more invigorated and puts on a far better performance. Plus, in terms of cinematography and sound, the new DVD blows the Tokyo ones out of the water, hands-down.

But Axl's performance that night just ruins it :(

  6. But still, if there was something I could do to help the band I would have. I wouldn't feel responsible to do it, it would just be a consequence of enjoying the band and preferring that it moves in the right direction.

    Same here ;)

If the band management decisions were made by me GNR image these days would be much much better than now :D

  7. Yes, we can help: stop going to shows.

This way, Axl will have no choice except to release new music.

Actually, he'd probably just disappear and never be seen again.

That's not a solution... the shows are awesome, band is awesome. I see GNR every time I have a chance. The problem is not in shows... the problem is in how the band is managed!
