I’m not one of those “you can’t say anything negative” folks, but I’ve read this entire thread now and the handful of people who continually tell us they hate the song are a serious fuckin’ drag. It’s just the incessant complaining, not the criticism, that sucks.

The stuff being said about the way it’s mixed is likely valid, though it sounds good to my ears. I’m listening through Spotify connect via Denon receiver and Polk 3.1 stereo sound. Or on my Bose quiet comfort 2 cans. I’ll test the car stereo out in a minute when I go for my beer run.

Dude, put Duff “too hard school” higher in the mix  WHAT THE HELL, I can’t even hear it unless I’m wearing headphones.

The stuff being said about Axl not being bothered to record new vocals is also valid. Like, what happened, man? I don’t expect new vocals on the already excellent verses and chorus. But they had to sample “Eye on You” for the bridge. That’s telling. Man’s couldn’t get in the studio to drop some “hey, heys.”

Still, what a time to be a GNR fan. Excuse me while I go crank “Hard Skool.”

    It's Guns N' Roses m8

The band with the most miserable fan base

Most just want to listen to another November Rain, SCOM "but new"...

And I guess with the most experts in production/mixing, record creation, song structure, etc.... and of course Spotify at 268kbps for critical listening opinion judgment.. 😁

Have you been living under a rock? They haven't played more than 1 show because the entire worlds concert industry is shut down, there's this thing called covid 19, you should wear a mask outside.

Also, they absolutely wouldn't need to have done something before for it to be a possibility in the future. Where us the logic there?

And... it's 5 years at a push... officially it's 4.5yrs since they got back together, definitely not 6yrs considering 6 years ago nugnr were still touring around now.

    My oh my🤔🙄😄

    I don't get it honestly,

Why are people asking for new music in such an agressive manner?, like desperate, and insulting and all? is everything good at their lives?

I want new music too but i'm not gonna shoot myself in the head if they don't. They must have their reasons.

In all fairness the music industry is in full fast food mode. In order to stay relevant you have to release new music every week/month to make the headlines. Is just the way things are and Axl is not known precisely for releasing music just to please others.

I will support them whenever i can, will go to their shows as i have been doing these last few years, but my expectations on new music are flat. Cool if they release something if not, bummer, but not going crazy over it.

Maybe they know this?. I mean the world was waiting for Chinese Democracy to release, everybody was in expectation of what was that going to be, even as Rock was not important anymore. But this happened 12 years ago, they blew it and the world is 100% different. Even with the reunion, the world doesn't have the same interest as before. So why bother?

I do agree with that, despite what I said earlier about Andrew Watt's producing. I'm liking it more and more as I listen to it.

    Yeah man, totally... i mean

On my Ozzy playlist i have 8 songs from this album, only ozzmosis comes close with 6....

I dig it, all songs sound different from one another... maybe thats why Ozzy wanted a different lineup

I only didn't like 1 song (Today Is The End), and it'll grow on me I think. His best since No More Tears imo. He really needed to do something different instead of doing the same old thing with Zakk, it yielded so much better, inspired songs. But I do hope Zakk is on the next album somehow, maybe he too is gonna learn something from his album and help write better songs than he has the before. This album sounds really "fresh"

Yeah man i agree, i mean Zakk hasn't really released anything decent recently since Mafia, and with Ozzy since Ozzmosis...

This really sounds fresh, modern and its Ozzy not Ozzy and Zakk.

I love Zakk and all but whats right is right, BOS II had some 2 or 3 tracks ok, but apart from that...

If you listen to the solo you can here it  saying the chorus. It was never intended to be a masturbatory effort on Slash's part (I love when he is allowed to just wail away but this wasn't the place.

Song will likely be edited down to 4 minutes for radio, so we weren't going to get NR II.

I agree whole heartedly with your  point about people feeling he mails it in if there isn't a 2 minute epic solo when he is working on someone else's song with likely parameters.

This was all about  being tasteful, emotive and fitting into the song.

I like that word, masturbatory hahaha,

    Cheers

Nice solo, not the greatest ever but it'll work

    I like it a lot...

i don't understand how everybody seems to think if Slash collaborates with any artist it must have a Novermber Rain or Sweet Child O' Mine solo.... why? i'm glad he's still recording releasing and playing with high quality, unlike most of his contemporary musicians...

Even Zakk's been releashing shit for a while...

I dont like Slash’s actual playing.

His past live performances were muuuuuch better for me.

He now noodles everywhere, and doesnt follow melodies as he recorded them.

Ive always LOVED his live performances (80’s 90’s) and now I feel that is someone else played the exact thing he does, we would be complaining.

He doest play Dead Horse’s solo right, like WTF...same goes for Yesterdays...he made it simple and great, just stick to the style that made you my favorite guitar player ever

Sorry, I had to write this somewhere

Is true though, i love Slash and he's the artist i've seen the most live (with VR, GNR, Conspirators)... whilst he still great i feel he's lost some of his melodic style that was his signature style of playing....

He's not playing bad or anything, actually he's a lot more precise than before, but his Melodies have faded a lot....

  8. Slash has always been a band player/musician. and tbh in GNR there's a weaker link than Axl and it definitely influences his playing. Frank.

He HAS improved a lot as a guitarrist, and he has released very good music even after GN'R. I'm 100% sure if we see new material in GN'R, serious material he'll deliver. in a live environment i think he needs another drummer to be more dynamic.

Slash was more animated at the willie basse all star jam last month at palladinos. But I also think that was zero pressure, messing a around with friends and not under any scrutiny whatsoever. There is not any room to run around at the troub, so what should he really have done?!

Exactly, this is a totally different thing, not just for Slash, for ALL OF THEM
