    cool.. have a blast :)

A bunch of mediocre bands, but music is music.

I remember I used to go to any gig. Its fun, so I'll go if I live there or anywhere in the visinity.

  2. damn - i think they should have re-created the old Wembley, it was just the right size to get a great stadium feel.. not too small and not too big, the ironic intimacy of a rock show in that place is gonna be ruined - even if the pictures do look pretty cool :)

yeah I agree, even the games too.

  3. cool! does it still look the same as on the video for Sunday Bloody Sunday? thats the song right? ::)

It should, but wouldn't it be cool to have a payperview there. I vote for that venue...sweet.

  4. hey- i saw the show- deffinately kickass. i was sick as hell that night, i had a huge headache, and believe me, Mix master Mike didnt help... but the minute the band took the stage, i felt great. the show was awesome- i didnt really know what to expect, but i deffinately felt like Axl still had it...most of it, anyway. Even tho the new band played really well...i did notice myself closing my eyes a few times, picturing slash, duff, izzy etc. on that stage with Mr. Rose...but hey, what i saw was deffinately better than nothing.

    the shortest review ever.

    Well said though :)

  5. Sadly I havent been able to find a setlist for the exact Troubadour show that I went to, guess cause they played there a lot not every show before they made it was recorded. Luckily though I found setlists for the GNR concerts I saw in 89, 91, 93 and 02. Infact its cool cause the one I went to on 10.10.89 was the video shoot for Its So Easy so I can watch that back!

    NO way...

Don't you remember just a little?

  6. New Years eve '92. Great show

cOol set list Jive, is it from Miami? What year? Must have been an awesome show! ;D

Soundgarden Opened with "Searching With My Good Eye Closed"...they also played "outshine" somewhere in the middle and "SP00NMAN" at the end. Some concert goers booed, I guess since Grung was beginning to rise. I love Soundgarden

GnR was awesome, they did made me wait for an hour or so before they took the stage. We were at the consesition stand  during the wait. I tell you, you can see and smell pot fumes. People were stoned ha ha.

What was the setlist to the one you went to?

I believe you went to The Troubadour '86.

  7. I also agree that it would be great if more UYI tracks were played... and also more Chinese D, although I think Axl is holding back cause of bootlegging and he doesnt want his stuff ripped until it's laid down properly.. which is fair enough i spose. i guess we'll just have to wait for that all important album ;)

Well I can't say much for Chinese other than I can't speak it, I could tell about Illusions.

This, ladies and gentlemen is a real fuckin' setlist

  8. No bootleg I've seen or heard can compare to being at the show. I would say each bootleg is 100x worse then beings at the concert it is held.

Listen Im sure the show you went to was awesome, but there's different levels of awesomeness(lol), it wasn't a terrible concert, I'm sure you enjoyed it.

But Axl didn't performed Civil War or Double Talkin' JIVE and an arcenal of others, that in and of itself is an inferior show to the one I went  to. The other reasons I stated above in my earlier post.

If we were to compare the pre'93 bootlegs to the 2002 bottlegs with all their deficiencies and short comings, pre '93 wins it hands down no questions asked.

Don't get me wrong, I was ready to go to the Florida show the week after Philly, unfortunately it was not possible. I stayed home holding my ticket, then got my refund.

  9. I'll start by saying this new band is ok at best.

I witnessed a monstrous wicked show on new year's eve 1992. It may have been the greatest show at the peak of GnR success and glory. After viewing tons of video bootlegs of Axl's infamous 2002 Chinese Democracy failed tour, there's no equivalent, in my eyes, of the grand spectacle I enjoyed. The rawness of Axl snake dancing on stage sporting his now diseased throaty voice, along with Slash soloing before and after every song with cigarette dangling & foot on the wah-pedal under the spotlight and rippin' into the Godfather theme, was what brought 100s of thousands to the football stadium shows. No new NiN knock off band can pull that off. Sorry if I offended anybody. There can only be one real NiN, it only shows Trents brilliance.

                Great Miami New Years Show

12.31.91 -- Joe Robbie Stadium, Miami, FL

opening act: Soundgarden(I was lucky there was no rap act)

    set:

    Welcome To The Jungle

    Mr. Brownstone

    Live And Let Die

    Attitude

    Nightrain

    Bad Obsession

    Double Talkin' Jive(mother fucker)

    Civil War

    It's So Easy

    Wild Horses [intro] - Patience

    Rocket Queen

    Piano Solo, November Rain

    You Could Be Mine

    Drum Solo

    Guitar Solo

    Godfather Theme

Sail Away Sweet Sister / Bad Time [intro] - Sweet Child O' Mine

    Don't Cry

    Move To The City

Only Women Bleed [intro] - Knockin' On Heaven's Door

    Estranged

    Paradise City

notes: Cool New Year's Eve show! This is GN'R's first stadium show as headliners in the US. Axl talks about New Year's resolutions. Slash dedicates 'Rocket Queen' as a Happy New Year song to all of Miami. 'Paradise City' is played through the New Year, as Axl leads a '5-4-3-2-1' chant towards the end of the song! (as taken from GnRontour.com)

Thats my review...a little late sorry. ;D
