Hmm, pretty expensive - and the graphics cards in both aren't brilliant for that sort of price (especially in the latter).

That isn't to say they're not decent, but for future proofing (although you'll pay through the back teeth because of the new i7 series) - the second option is perhaps the smartest.

Equally, the i7 series release should see subsequent price drops on other processors, so picking up a Q6600 would tide you over brilliantly, plug that with four gig of Crucial/Kingston/Corsair, a TB HDD for about £80 nowadays (although might just be external, so depends) - and then depending on what engine games you play, a card suited to that - and you'll be sorted!

But equally good - I mean, you're paying for the name, brand and labour - they'll do you proud.

On dell config, i chose the cheapest card purposely, with the intent being to sell that and buy a 9800 gt.

Agreed on the first point, only tapping their potential now (and that's the high end dual cores).

Even with top of the range, you don't get a massively increased performance with either - the former just adds about 50 quid on, the latter - in most cases, won't even increase your fps. Even £800 for a top spec PC, that'll last you what - five or more years? Is a great investment. Better still ones you can upgrade (Gigabyte DDR2/DDR3 mobo - although not always 100% stable) will future proof it effectively. What was the spec/price of the one you posted up in the Christmas thread?

Equally, does anyone know if the GTAIV bugs have been ironed out yet in the PC version?

We already have one cover, we know that there are 3 versions of it, there will be also vinyl release.Best Buy, which have exclusive deal witch universal to release it in USA have it already on their website (with release date November 25). This is really it. I know, it's hard to believe after that years, but this time, there is only one thing missing - official announcment from GNR. It will be there in few days, likely tomorrow.

Until I see an official announcement from GN'R... I really can't believe it
