i find it wierd that alot of people in here got to know GNR as a result of hearing the GH. i don't hate the idea behind it- it's just they didn't put millions of hits in there- instead they stuck AIF. WTF??

a friend of mine has once showed off and was saying like "your music style is shit"- and the next some minutes we went to a 'Hard Rock' link in a site he knew and downloaded tones of music including GNR, Iron Maiden, Metallica, alice in chains etc. i loved listening to Eminem and Tupac back then. so one day i wanted to delete all this shit he put in my PC but then i said to myself that it can't harm me- all this 'shitty music' can do is open some doors for me. so i randomly picked an album (UYI 1), randomly picked a song out of it (Dust N' Bones) and started listening. and guess what? you are right- i were hooked as fuck. i was sure that Izzy is the singer- since that was the first song i heard- and i thought he is brilliant. personally, i hate it when people dowlnload things- so i went a copule of miles to buy the famous AFD and the two UYI (it was at 2001).

so the rest of it is pretty obvious- i discovered that axl is the singer and liked him a lot- i saw that they are a GREAT rock band- and never stoped liking them since this wierd incident i once had. (damn that was a long one.)

i don't need ROCK/METAL to come back to the industry to assure me its the best there is. i am satisfied with what we already watched and heard back in the 70's-early 90's. you have got to admit- even if artists like Eminem and J.Lopez etc. sold more records than lets say Guns N'Roses- they have never "caught" as many titles and spotlights as our rock idols (hmm music stars arent idols for all of us- but thats an easy way to present the situation) used to.

personally i am not a big fan of bands whose number of songs is very very limited (i think GnR have about 70 songs- including the shitty part of TSI?.) you listen to they classic and the famous hit but all the sudden you feel like you heard enough and you can't stand the same thing anymore. ACDC, on the other hand- have plenty of songs and CD's (luckily with different singers) so you can never get enough- there's always something new that you accidently find and starting to like.

Sabbath's song are mostly short so it take the average down- but i still say 5-6 minutes.

I love you all, but this reunion talk has got to stop. It's just ridiculous. Axl obviously wants to experiment with different styles of music. He wants to do something new and creative. Slash and Duff are obviously just interested in playing their old brand of generic bluesy/traditional hard rock inspired by Aerosmith, Van Halen, ect.

At this point, Axl wouldn't mix well musically with the former gunners. It's like combining Cher and Tommy Lee together. It wont work out and nothing will come out of it. It doesn't make any sense. The only thing it would do is make concert attendance go up. It would not improve the future music. As far as I'm concerned, Axl has reached a creative wall with the old band members. They can't work together on anything new, the collective creativity is over.

We should be more interested in what Axl and his new band have to offer us. Those guys might have elements that weren't present in the old GNR. We should be optimistic for what will be on CD.

That is all, flame me if you wish, but I'm right about this. There will be no reunion and there shouldn't be a reunion.

that why i think GNR shuld be taken of this list- they're one of my favourite bands- but they arent as big as most of the bands mentioned in this list (like Floyd or Beatles or U2 or queen etc...)

Agreed, but you can't deny that in Axl's response there is a level of qualification. The words he uses are deliberately chosen, IMO, to be ambiguous. Axl could have said ..."yeah the record will be out by the end of the year".. but he purposefully chose words which suggest otherwise to me. Yes we will hopefully hear new music, but a release of Chidem?? Doubt it.
