much agreed,some of you americans need to get ur asses to england and start listening to some decent music!! The Libertines,the Streets and hundred reasons for examples.

If nothing was ever released again I would be more then satisfied with my music collection... When I was a teen I was always looking for new bands (back then the music was just better) I don't have the same desire to find new music if that makes sence ,revolver was a nice suprise for me..

I have seen the video with bowling for soup and it's fucking lame, 1985... I don't even listen to the radio anymore...CLassic rock is my thing..

bowling for soup?? my god i really feel for americans. Like rufus said you need come to england, watch vh2, the amp, mtv2 and listen to great new music, like the libertines, the stands, KASABIAN, razorlight!!! There are so many great new bands out right now, i just love it so much.

each to there own mike!! but i think that some pople maybe not you need to open up there eyes and search for new talent,go out and buy an album on impulse and just give new genres and styles a go!!!

Remember as a kid (well i don't know your age) there was so much fun in finding new bands and hearing music for the first time.. You were in school, hanging with friends ,drinking enjoying new music, etc.. It was a great time and you shared great times with friends... You always had tons of friends with new albums to sample..

When you(me) get older it's just not the same anymore.. To me the big part of music was going to a concert getting drunk, laid n partying... It's just not the same for me, I don't get excited like I use to..I use to hang in the school yard with mates and have the stereo blasting metal, it just went hand n hand..

Sure I enjoy a tune every now and then that's new, but my desire to look and find it is gone.

Sound like an old timer, but for some reason I love classic rock, and I can listen to it forever..he music of your youth is always treasured the most, it's hard to duplicate the feelings again...

I can see why you wouldn't like them though- i think that a lot of the older people here who went to the GNR concerts and everything dont understand its just not their generation anymore music wise... me being 16, i dont mind if they look/are 15 whatever.

I guess I was different the bands when I was growing up looked older and sounded different... I will admit they were glamed out, but sex drugs n rock n roll was the theme.. "Only one" is so pussy to me, but I can understand a younger girl enjoying them..

It's like when I was a kid and saw axl, james hetfield, dave mustane, steven tyler, ozzy, vince neil, etc, etc...;..... I saw older people rocking, the vibe was different... WHen I see yellow card, new found glory, and someone like hoobastank I see these nerdy kids.. Rock on though and enjoy what you like...

I don't think anyone should vote for backstreet, because it's something that goes away as quick as it comes... Boy bands are a different breed then other bands...It's a surge every 5-10 years they take over everything and then never do music again..New kids were the group when I was about 11-12 in which every girl loved.. I just hate sucky rock groups...

Everytime I hear linkin park one guy raps the other screams... That is pure shit as is breaking the habit.. Only thing that is cool is one said afd is the best album, ever in the top twenty two albums of all time..

what does nationality have to do with anything? Anarchy in the uk is a very delicate song... that should not be covered by most bands.. especially bands like motley crue.

Knocking motley crue for their clothes/hair during a time when most bands dressed like that and did things of that nature is like knocking nirvana or pearl jam for dressing grunge/dirty..

You don't have to like their music, but there's no denying their success, and you can't get on them for dressing the part of the time... Even gnr was glammed out on the strip, it didn't take anything from their music though...

Afd sales were at like nine million when the band was still original then by like 92 it was already at 15, beating boston for the best selling debut album..I think alanis broke it with jagged little pill.. So since the start of the 90's afd has had the label of 15 million... To this day the album itself when asked how many albums were sold. is known for selling 15 million...

I wouldn't be suprised if it's doubleby now, but for some reason the numbers never get passed 15 million, it must be something where the numbers are counted in a certain time period, like why did it stop at 15 million??Maybe when it feel offthe charts for good??

Those numbers are ancient, afd had sold 9 million when the band was still one... It seemed by 91 afd was at 15 million..I think the numbers stop at 15 but continue another way..Even today afd would get 15 million in sales..Don't know how long the period last...Lies had sold 2 million, who knows how they add to that... Both illusions I saw in a mag sold 7 million each, but I''m sure that was over a year or two...

The britney's, christinas and jessicas are there to entertain the youth. Not many 10 year olds want to listen to Bob Dylan and Metallica.

Britney will be successfull as long as 8-18 year old kids enjoy her POP music. And as long as the songs have a dance-beat that people at clubs can dance too.

yes I understand all that.. I jusr remember in the 80's there was more of a selection, there was pop like tiffany, new kids, and debbie gibson but there was also alot of rock too.. I could deal with it because there was a selection...Now it's not like that you have tons more rap, tons more R&B, everyone is with someone, it's a big mess and the rock is barely there... Even the rock is terrible, we are in a shitty movement....

Take the 90's , you had such a selection of videos... PJ, nirvana, gnr, metallica, soundgarden, NIN, AIC, etc,etc.. You get the point...

Back in the day you/we had Headbanger's ball, it was awesome so many good bands ,now there's like tons of trash and sucky music... We use to have three hours of pretty hard rocking music... Now we have reality shows on alot... I can deal with a simpson song, but must she be on a show too, should ashley have a show?? I'm all for kids enjoying music, but seems like older people were forgotten, we never get a cool video unless it's some countdown
