Why'd you say that?  I know Money was saying that if he did come back it would be for Garcia, have there been more developments?  Floyd will wipe Garcia out.  Shame, i would've liked to've seen him rematch Amir Khan for that 0.

Saw a few tweets that apparently promoter Eddie Hearn mentioned it on Sky Sports when talking about Brook.  If Mayweather comes back, I'd like to see him embarrass Broner, just because.

Edit:  Here's the interview with Hearn mentioning it at 17:30:  http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/10248941/eddie-hearn-on-anthony-joshua-kell-brook-tony-bellew-and-more

Sounds like it's just his opinion, but we'll see.  Some of the other tweets and articles I saw on it kind of blew it up.

True but as a reflection on young Spence its good, he TKOed him in 4, he went the distance with Pacman and Amir Khan.

No way Stevie Smith has won this.

Yeah, I really like what I've seen from Spence so far in his career.

Rumors that Mayweather-Danny Garcia could be a possibility for September.

Ah, I see.Yeah, that could have been sweated out if they really wanted to. I wonder why they dropped the belt then?

Think his trainer mentioned not wanting to hurt his body, but he didn't even try to lose it--started drinking Gatorade right after stepping off the scales.  He just didn't care enough.  Wouldn't mind seeing him step up in weight again and getting knocked out.

  4. I liked the announcers at the beginning talking about how everything was going against Broner this week and then Broner giving himself a pat on the back at the end.  Pretty sure he brought all of that on himself this week--both the assault and not making weight (and not even trying to drop the 0.4 lbs.)...

Side note:  Who bets thousands of dollars at the bowling alley at 3:30 in the morning?

  5. Lol at Broner calling Mayweather out and Mayweather just laughing at him the whole time. I wish Broner's corner would have let him go after Mayweather at the end of the fight when he tried to leave the ring. Bring Mayweather out of retirement in the stands.

  6. So, Pacquiao's last fight will be April 9. Think he gives Crawford a shot, or chooses to go out with a win against an easier opponent (although, I guess Arum said either Crawford, Bradley, or Khan)?

If he doesn't get Pacquiao, I wouldn't mind seeing Crawford vs. Bradley or Provodnikov next.

  7. Glad to see the Seahawks blow a game they should have won.

Axlsold - what are you feelings on Sherman only playing one side of the field? I just read this on espn or sportsillustrated or a site like that. But it basically said that the bengals were able to exploit Kam Chancellor for several completions because of Sherman's refusal to play both sides of the field. He only plays on one side (say the right)...meaning opposing teams can have their super star wide receiver stay on the left side of the field. So against the Bengals, they just ignored Sherman's side of the field and blasted Kam's side - which led to the comeback.

Most superstar CB will cover the opposing team's best receiver.

How do you feel about Sherman not doing that - which apparently cost the Seahawks big time yesterday, as Kam couldn't cover his man?

    **************

If Brady continues to play at this high level and the Pats go 13-3 or 14-2, would the NFL give Tom Brady the MVP award?

To be fair, Sherman did shadow Green after the first few series (and did a good job, at that, when Seattle made that change). A big part of the Bengals' comeback came when they finally started playing aggressive on offense again. Same thing happened in the Baltimore and KC games--the offense comes out aggressive, gets up early, then the play calling gets really conservative through the second and third quarters. Not sure why they do that with the offensive weapons they have--should be taking advantage of them at all times, not just the start and end of games.

In the Seattle game, the Bengals started attacking Cary Williams through the air again in the fourth quarter (like they did in the first). He was really struggling against Jones and Sanu (not only on the completions, but he also had two big pass interferences in the fourth on plays that he was beat). Seattle also really struggled matching up with Eifert (along with a couple of blown coverages against him in the red zone).

  8. Liked Frank Thomas as a player, but just saw a three minute clip of him as an analyst talking about Votto and it may have been the most ridiculously bad thing that I have ever seen. He was trying to argue that Votto wasn't a top ten hitter and that with 29 home runs and 79 RBIs (because he says he ranks hitters based on RBIs first, home runs, then batting average...) Votto should be looking over his shoulder for someone trying to take his job. Nevermind that he just tied his own Reds record for number of times reaching base in a season, or tied Pete Rose's club record of 48 consecutive games reaching base, or that he'll probably just miss joining Bonds, Ruth, and Williams as the only players with a .300 average, 30 home runs, and 150 walks in a season (needs one more home run and eight walks). No...he's apparently just hoping that he'll have a starting job come next season.

  9. Forgot Adonis Stevenson was on tonight. Should be an easy one for him, but he's usually good for a knockout. Errol Spence, Jr. on the undercard. Is usually entertaining as well. Would think there's a pretty good chance of seeing knockouts in both fights.

  10. Also I thought it was a great, but slightly uneven opening. I'm sure it'll get better with time (as the Colbert Report did). Also wasn't Kendrick Lamar suppose to be the guest musician?

Kendrick Lamar was on it last night (haven't watched the episode yet, but heard he performed a medley).

Thought it was a good first show. Liked the Trump/Oreo bit as well. Enjoyed the performance at the end. Looking forward to it going forward.

  11. Before reaching base four more times tonight. Forget how many times Bonds reached base during his hottest streak--Luckhaupt said it before when he started tracking this--but, it was something ridiculous like 140-something. Still, watching how Votto has been hitting has somewhat helped ease the pain of racing for the top draft pick.
