my own personal guess for the errors is nobody at the label is providing anything but the most basic support for the band after their last record took 16 years, cost $14m and then they disappeared off the face of the earth for about a year when it came out

rememer when Axl Rose was dressed like an eccentric head shop owner and he dove headfirst into a photographers face and caused a riot

couple extra hours to lean into a few deep cuts, we might finally get Billionaire w/ vocals and Nothing

Shackler existed in the locker leaks as a raw instrumental (titled "Shancler's Revenge"). It was developed at some point later and combined with another Buckethead tune (don't remember which one). Definitely that was long before Ashba was in the band. Ashba joined after CD was released.
it sounds like a combo of the original Shankler's demo and parts of Dub Suplex

I queued for five hours outside Liverpool, near front of the line, met Del James who came to say hello, got to the front barrier, Axl came on 3 hours late, but it was absolutely worth it. Got to see him up close all his expressions, he smiled and waved at me. We expected the lateness. Called venue beforehand and asked about curfew and they said “We make an exception for Axl Rose” 😂😂
I was at this and it was funny watching people have to leave among everyone else booing because Axl decided to head out at somerthing like 11pm on a Sunday, the crowd was absolutely tons of dads with sons and people with jobs to go to and by the time they got on it was just a bad atmosphere. Drinks getting thrown before they'd even got on stage, Axl stopping Jungle to threaten to go home if any more drinks went by his head and THEN spending the ENTRIE show anxious someone was going to throw another.

So, I asked this the other day, but, didn't get many takers in the leak discussion thread, so, I'll ask here:
For those who have heard the recent leaks, what will your reaction be if the "R" side is just what we know of as The General, but, it does not include an official release of Monsters?
nobodys getting nine minutes of music on one side of a 7'', don't expect it

Tell me how did you find it in a porn site.
ha! it was one of the only relevant search links, I just Googled some verson of GUNS ROSES ROCK RIO 2001 JAPANESE and the only result I could get to work and see was on there (honestly!)

did that whole Rio 2001 show from Japanese TV make it online? i've only just found out about it through ths thread and could find exactly two videos on a porn site and the sound is a LOT better, I dont think im hearing things either the drums are mixed quieter and arent twatting about over the top of everything
EDT this sounds so much better, I think the guitars are boosted too

also like to know what sort of confguraton they had in mind for the album in 2002 with the supposed 18 tracks and bonus disc mentioned at the 2002 London show
-
I can't stand the newer intro to Hard Skool, it doesn't do the riff any favours when it kicks in. The stupid bell too! ahhh!!! otherwise it's a fine rocker, kind of prefer the Rough Mix version though

I am fairly certain, at this point in time especially after listening to it om good headphones most of these 2 days that it is Slash on all lead parts save for the second half of the outro solo which is Fortus
TG has Slash's signature wah sound and listening closely the runs are very Slash-esque especially when comparing to the Slash-isms I heard live a few weeks ago
they've done this sort of crash edting before so it wouldnt surprse me but 4:06 to 4:09 of The General sounds like Buckethead, the finish to the solo too before it goes into Monster, but then the rest could be anything, fully ready to be wrong though

i'd like a rip of every minidisc, CD-R and DAT tape Brain and Buckethead came up with while sat in the chicken coop

this has maybe already been answered but who owns the publshing and all the important stuff for the Chinese Democracy sessions? is it just Axl? would anybody with a writing credit need to sign off? EDIT - found the thread
-
Buckethead had the coop but you can see in the extras for the first Brain DVD that it's basically a rehearsal room with all the gear set up and a wire fence put around it, nothing you'd look at and say was halting production or causing shit.
when the Zutaut leaks happened I was convinced then and i'm still convinced now you could/they should have made a great album out of the rough mixes on the first four CDs, a version of CD with Perhaps and Atlas in place of stuff like Scraped would have been it, man. Like that's the stuff I was hearing in my head when Axl spoke about an abums worth of music with a bonus disc of other shit, with that line up once Fortus settled in. Way before Better, way before they had the chance to add anything else

probably to give them some sort of performance fee as a thanks

It's totally possible that "plans changed" at some point after the release of Hard Skool and nothing will be released at all while Axl is alive.
not as unusual as you might think - friend of mine once met Robert Plant who told him first off no photos in case people figure out which pub he was at and bother the shit out of him, and second he apparently told him re some bootlegs and unreleasd Zeppelin stuff that he had it written into a contract that certain things werent going to be released while he was alive because the effort and headaches and bullshit that comes with releasing it all was too much for him to want to deal with it

great read, love that era and reading about it now even if it was hell to endure

You know what else was happening 2 and 3 years ago? You guys complaining about the same exact thing. Just as you were 2 and 3 years prior to that. And you’ll be doing the same thing 2 and 3 years from now.
The same broken record gets released year after year. It’s time to name the broken record “Narcissistic Entitlement”.
this is the same band charging house prices to hear half assed songs from nearly 40 years ago and a couple of new ragers written something like 22 years ago by other people, who're the ones with narcissistic entitlement here again?

I'm watching Brain's old drum instructional DVD from 2002 and in the extras there's a tour of the Village studio while GNR were set up there and at one point you can see him looking at the musical notation for Quick Song

DJ Ashba is a musical non entity

the rhythm of the vocals almost sounds out of time with the music during the verses. I played it to two non GNR friends a few weeks ago and everybody caught the timing. Sound wise the closest we could get as similar was Killing Joke which would be weird enough for GNR but 2021 GNR moreso.
