I went to the Ford Field show and thought he was amazing. It's 5 O Clock Somewhere to me has not aged well-I think the stuff he is doing in the studio also is much better. The first Slash solo album was his best IMO

20 years of questions about Slash are over. Life in your mid 50's is a lot more different im sure

I would love to hear the new songs..the reworked songs would be neat to listen to once ot twice. There is no way I would pay $1,000-I would feel forced to listen to them all the time, good or bad, because of what I spent. I would go $100 probably.

That guy who used to run the "GNRNEWS" Twitter account did some reserch on Tobias. I imagine this would have been 2013/2014. The dude used to hang out at MSL's forum all the time and kiss MSL's ass. From what I remember, Paul works some kind of finance job now, but still talks to Axl every now and again. Axl consulted him on liner notes for Chinese Democracy, Paul still gets a Christmas card and gift from Axl very year, and he received one of the platinum record awards for Chinese Democracy (DJ Ashba and Frank posted pictures of theirs online).
Honestly, I have no beef with Paul. I cannot vouch for what it would feel like to hang out in a room with the dude, but it seems like the problems that caused Slash to bail were brewing long before Paul became a part of the band. Had Paul not been invited, someone else would have pissed off Duff, Matt, and Slash.
I was lucky enough to be at the 01/01/01 show at the House of Blues. The crowd was buzzing about a lot of stuff (what would Axl look like, would they play old stuff, would new stuff sound like "my World"), but people were legitimately stoked to finally see Paul Tobias: the dude who "broke up" Guns N' Roses. After a few songs, I think everyone was a little let down to see he was just some random dude.
Interesting read. Didn't know this. Imagine getting a finance job somewhere and you find out you are working with Paul. I don't have a huge beef with him, whatever happened, happened-in the end a lot of things were Axl's call. It would be great if he gave an interview somewhere, or even wrote a book someday. I'm sure he would remain loyal to Axl in it, but it sounds like he's out of the business, so maybe he would let loose a little

Paul Tobias, Rob Gardner, Chris Weber, Tracii Guns, Ole Beich: all irrelevant guys some people insist on attaching to Guns N' Roses name, fame & success, for the weirdest reasons.
On GNR Truth, there was an obsession if you mentioned the original lineup getting back together, people would say "it's only the original lineup if Ole is in it!!". It's like whatever.

They were all very talented, and she seems like a great person-she sings on Gilby's solo record, I think-she does a great job. That said, I was never a fan when the band added backup singers and the horn section. It seemed like there were 15 people out there during Paradise City at the end.

I would rather see VR reform than a Slash album, but I can understand Slash not wanting to do it-he would probably draw the same if not more crowds than Velvet Revolver with a new singer. It's been 10 or so years since that band.

But if any other band or artist disappeared up their own ass and released one record in 25 years, I don't think they'd have multiple fan forums with folks dissecting every coming and going. What is it about GNR that commands this level of interest amongst us? Other than the fact that we're all obviously glutton for punishment.
I think you are forgetting that people visited the boards through the years to keep up on what was going on with Chinese Democracy, the various side projects, Velvet Revolver, ect....

It seems like SLash likes to work a lot-I would have liked to have seen a different singer. Myles is ok, I guess

Final thoughts on NITL tour
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
Highlights were Axl showing up on time-I was at the first Detroit show, and could hear people around me going "no way" when the Intro started.
The amount of Chinese Democracy songs, and 10 years ago I thought there would be no chance in hell Axl Rose would be singing a Velvet Revolver song during a Guns concert.
The length of the tour-I went to 2 Vegas shows, and the Detroit show-I'm glad I got to see Axl and SLash together before I kick the Bucket
I think the concerts overall were very good
Lowlights:
the lack of press or interviews from the band is frustrating, and has been frustrating for years.
Was hoping for at least one new song.
The setlist not changing much. I do understand it's a tour for a much larger audience that the boards.
I think this tour kind of wraps up GNR in a way for Axl. He seems happy, has nothing left to prove. I'm glad for the reunion, but I think back to 2002 and thought there were at least 3 or 4 more albums coming in the next 10 to 15 years.
