This thread is lame and many of you seem to underestimate Axl.

How will it sound?

I expect it to vary like UYI 1&2.

The record companies don't want an "old school" rock album?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

All the record companies in the world would kill to get their hands on another UYI or Appetite.

History repeats itself and music trends go in circles.

I think the music of the past 5-6 years have been terrible compared to what the early 90s.

Axl knows that the quality of the record matters and that the style is irrelevant.

If Axl has made 10 songs for this album that truly reflects his mastermind, then this record will get GNR on everybody's lips again and it will be the downfall of many modern rock bands.

My guess is that Chinese Democracy will set a new standard that many others will try and follow.

Bottom line is:

IS Chinese Democracy an imminent release?

If so, of course Axl would proudly have the honor of being the first guest in a historic new Satelite Radio company with Howard Stern.

What an honor! What a confirmation that Axl is still among the biggest of the big!

And why wouldn't he tell us about CD on there?

I think Axl would welcome the chance to unveil a release date himself instead of having the label doing it for him.

Topic is obviously speculation, but I think the idea is quite likely.

Just wanted to share this.

Norway's biggest newspaper had a big article yesterday about new releases in 2006.

Guns 'n Roses was listed.

Don't know where they got that info from, but I doubt they got it from a forum.

The list was detailed, with info from record companies.

I guess there were 200 artists and albums listet.

Guns were listed under "Expected releases - no date set yet" together with many 100% certain releases.

I think it's a good tune also.

Teddy, I speak english quite fluently.

But no particular accent.

It's like when I go to London I pronounce the word "water" very differently from when I meet americans in for instance Italy.

I don't see what's the big deal with my accent anyway though. I don't twist my words on purpose, I just sing what feels natural at the time.

Guys, I'd love to share the first 3 songs that my band wrote with you.

These were recorded 8 months ago after we had only played together for 2 months.

We improve all the time, but more importantly; some of the songs we have written since are quite tremendous in my opinion. You'll hear them sometime..

I haven't been around here for as long as most of you guys so I don't really have the experience that some of you have when it comes to judging how credible rumours and stuff like that is.

I'm very curious though.

If this interview with Slash had happened in 2003, wouldn't you have believed it?

I have a feeling that the main reason why people in here undermine the importance of Slash saying CD will be released in march is the fear that history will repeat itself.

Coz in fact, this is a quite heavy statement from him. (And I have no reason to believe the interview didn't take place).

To me, this tops the Amazon-story easily.

I don't think we should get carried away or anything, but I find it very destructive and negative to just write the story off.

We should keep the faith and I think this story is promising.

One doesn't have to get devestated if proven wrong.

But right now there's hope in my opinion.

I think we have only seen the top of the iceberg.

Surely there are 50 songs we don't know of.

The Blues and Madagascar are probably two of the best songs written pre-02.

I think Axl really regrets saying "You haven't seen the big guns yet.."

That's a statement able to postpone a new album on it's own.

It's like a sprinter saying: "I do the 100 metres in 9.75 secs in training every day.

He'd never show up at an athletics event before running at least 9.90.

Slash is an awesome guitarist but how good is he really?

Composing his solos I'd say he's definately one of the best. Imagewise and on stage he's a legend. His sound is breathtaking.

But how skilled is he? Did he ever care to be a super-fast player? I

My friend and I always have the same discussion: which band is better? Guns or Metallica?

I say to him, listen, I wouldn't ideally compare the two because of their different styles but if I must I'd say Guns are faaar better than Metallica.

He says no no no. Metallica have 10 songs better than all of Guns' big ones. I TOTALLY disagree.

What's your takes on the subject guys? Metallica and GnR are kinda "enemies" between some sets of fans, but don't I have a point in stating: "They really are too different to compare?"
