The Slash quotes from earlier in the thread sound like a different incident. He talks about going up to the bungalow, which sounds more like the house most known from the black and white photo with the keg. The Hell House studio definitely wouldn't be described as a bungalow. Also, this would put the timing much closer to the release of Appetite and hence more likely to be referenced in the liner notes. So just like Raz initially merged 2 separate incidents, I suspect the same is being done here.

Way more importantly though, to Little Michelle it sounds so horrible what you have been through and I hope you have been able to find a way to work through it. As much as I like the music it was always well known the guys were low life's (as much as ppl like Duff try to re-invent the history now), but this is next level again.

As much as people say Axl is entitled to a presumption of innocence - which he is and he hasn't been jailed without trial over this, so he's got that. This story is consistent with plenty of other things that have been written / come out in court (ie Everly, Seymour) and Michelle goes into a lot of detail that fits with other things I've read, so it all certainly seems plausible. I think it is worthwhile people pausing and considering this because the temptation will be to jump to the defence of someone they have been a fan of for a long time - but the risk the other way, that is of attacking someone who has gone through something so horrific for speaking the truth is one you probably don't want to get wrong either.

Back to the original point of the thread Duff already looked pretty stupid and hypocritical in the virtue signalling he has been doing of late, given how much is on record to the contrary and how illogical his argument is (ie if we say something in the past understand it is a joke and/or shit talking and we aren't like that, but if someone else says similar assume they are serious and it is how they are), but this definitely makes it worse. Duff is big on this 'how to be a man' business, well he should be taking a look to Raz as he certainly hasn't manned up the way Raz has - it would have taken a lot to take the time to look into things, admit you were wrong, admit you made mistakes in the book and publicly call out a famous friend.

In the court of public opinion, we've reached the point were Axl no longer deserves any presumption of innocence.  The number of allegations of violent and abusive behavior have to be taken seriously.  We can admire the music and still recognize that he's an awful human being.

Duff on the other hand would be better off limiting his interactions with the media.  He never comes off sounding particularly bright or insightful.  However, his history of drug abuse makes any kind of coherent sentence is an achievement.  Most of his interviews are full of virtue signalling and bland PR word salad.  Sid Vicious would be very disappointed.

  2. Probably. I think CD may have actually come out in '05-06 if Bucket hadn't left, and Axl hadn't felt the need to have Bumble re-record a shit ton of songs. We'd probably have 3 albums at least by now.

How long would it really take to rerecord the guitar parts on CD? Even if he rerecorded the guitar parts on a few extra songs that didn't make it only the album, it would only be a few months at most. A lot less if they really wanted to get it done quickly. The albums get released when Axl decides to release them.

  3. Its sad Guns N Roses hasn't been around since 1993. Honestly, I don't know how people can watch this video and say anything we've had since 2000 is anything remotely close to this. Its only when I watch videos like this that I get really sad that all of these guys are alive and healthy and they've never shared the same stage again. Its like pouring salt on your tongue while the person stands just out reach. Why can't we get this just one more time?!

Axl and Slash don't need each other. They have what is colloquially known as "f**k you" money and don't have to work with someone they don't like. It's the same reason why Pink Floyd won't tour again. My bank account is full and I don't want to spend time with that asshole.

  4. What do you think of her and her writings and philosophy? Found this interesting. I think she was a pretty evil woman, personally. Consider that Ayn Rand is the chief influence of Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate for Vice President. Ryan was a stalwart devotee of Rand and her philosophies to the point that he got into politics because of her:

Why don't you tell us what you think accompanied by a rational argument, instead of spamming us with crap from leftist hate sites. I get the feeling that you think that everyone who is outside of your little ideological box is evil.

No mentally stable person has eyes like that. He was drugged I think.

Maybe it's a coverup and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps it's the CIA doing some kind of mind control, Project MKUltra.

Would someone of this kid's background and income be able to pull off something as complex as he's accused of? Booby traps, body gear, shooting accuracy and while arrested, under the influence of some kind of drugs.

What shooting accuracy? He had a rifle with a drum magazine, a shotgun and a semi automatic pistol with an extended magazine in a movie theater packed with unarmed people. If it had been someone who knew what they were doing, the death toll could have been much higher.

  6. News just broke..he bought the guns legally.

"A right to bear arms"...woo-hoo! :jerkoff:

The guns were held legally - so what?

I own guns and I've never walked into a theater and shot it up and neither have any of the dozens of gun owners that I know.

    You didn't..this guy did.

    12 people are dead,over 50 injured,and you're asking so what?

If a small number of people abuse a right, we should take it away? Cars get used in murder, people use free speech to advocate hate and murder. Should we start banning those too, so you can feel "safe?"

The gun grabbers can go to hell. It's our right and they're not taking it away.

“Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

    Benjamin Franklin

  7. Do you think gun laws in America are appropriate or too lax and allow this sort of thing to happen? When gun laws have been tightened there are less of these incidents happening, people say they keep guns to protect themselves but this shows that it just doesn't work. Very sad situation & I hope it turns out not to be as bad as first reports come through.

Actually since the UK banned guns, the number of murders committed with guns has actually increased. How does this incident show that keeping guns for protection doesn't work? Movie theaters don't allow people with concealed carry permits to bring their firearms inside and I've no reason to believe that this theater was any different. The victims had no weapons or ability to defend themselves.
