  1. I wonder if Curt would have gone to the Zeppelin reunion???

    who knows..

I'm pretty sure Nirvana did a Zeppelin cover early on. I don't think Kurt was exactly anti-rock n' roll like some people make him out to be.

Nirvana did play Heartbreaker in the beginning of their career, and they also have a song called Aero Zeppelin, a tribute to Aerosmith and Zepp. At least, Kurt was a Zepp fan.

  2. Add Tales Of Vesperia on that list for anyone who's a RPG fan. I only have a Wii, which I love, and which will always be my "main" console, but I'll buy a 360 soon, for Tales, Banjo-Kazooie and, of course, Resident Evil 5.

  3. Dude, you're 17 years old. Don't you think you're old enough to see this band for what they are: a bunch of losers. God, I hate Tokio Hotel. ffrankwhite: Don't check them out, they suck. For some reason, they've gotten fairly big here. I saw the video for Monsoon once, and it's the worst piece of trash ever.

  4. The Almost Famous soundtrack is brilliant. Great stuff on it, such highlights as:

    Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

    Led Zeppelin - Tangerine

    Stillwater - Fever Dog

    Simon & Garfunkel - America

    Elton John - Tiny Dancer

    +++

  5. I'm glad to see people getting into Grunge. It's easily the last great period of music, and housed so many great bands. On MTV Unplugged, the best performance is Where Did You Sleep Last Night, isn't it. It's haunting.

  6. In no order:

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction

    Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion Vol. 1 & 2

    Pearl Jam - Ten

    Soundgarden - Superunknown

    Nirvana - Nevermind

    AC/DC - Highway To Hell

    Deep Purple - Machine Head

    Led Zeppelin - IV

    Alice In Chains - Facelift

Temple Of The Dog - S/T

  7. Don't worry, Given To Fly, we'll see them soon. On a joint tour with Pearl Jam, yeah?

As for the thread, I've seen Chris Cornell and Muse this year.

Chris was insane; first row with one of my favourite singers=awesomeness.

Muse were great too. And in February I'm seeing Queens Of The Stone Age. Should be good.

  8. Pearl Jam:

    1. Once

    2. Glorified G

    3. Do The Evolution

    4. World Wide Suicide

    5. Leash

    6. Spin The Black Circle

    7. Hard Sun

    8. Inside Job

    9. Better Man

    10. Nothing As It Seems

    11.Rats

    12. Hunger Strike (Chris Cornell joins)

    13. Porch

    14. Severed Hand

    15. Last Kiss

    16. Man Of The Hour

    17. Even Flow

    Encore

    18. Alive

    19. Daughter

    20. Given To Fly

    21. Dirty Frank

    Encore

    22. Guaranteed

    23. Jeremy

    24. Immortality

    25. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town

    26. Wishlist

    27. Black

    28. Yellow Ledbetter

    Setlist for Oslo, 2008:)

  9. Medusa Stone: So fucking Black Crowes-ish. Bought their album and EP. Good stuff.

Rattlesnake Remedy: I remember being told of this band way, way back, when Drag You Down was a single. Loved it, they became one of my favourite new bands. Pity they haven't played in Norway (yet).

    Recommendations:

    Nine Black Alps

Released their second album recently, debut back in 2005. The songs on their Myspace page is from their second, and even though they're great, the first album is slightly better. Check out Unsatisfied, Get Your Guns and Just Friends on Youtube. Great band, probably my favourite new band.

    Underride

From Seattle, However, they don't play grunge. Kickass Rock N' Roll, released two albums and an EP. Working on their third album now. Check out the song Violate Night, it's a bitchin' song.

  10. Their first album is pure awesome. It's too bad The Pick of Destiny was so shit.

What!? Are you serious? I love that album, and the film.

Tenacious D rocks, would love to see them live someday.
