Tickets were in my pocket at 10.01 this morning!!Is anyone going to the concert who wouldn't mind a strange friend to walk along side??????????? Because I want to go, but I am alone. One of my (hardrock) friends has quit liking GN'R and the other is on that same date going to a festival in Belgium.
Help me.
(I'll be looking for other friends who would want to go myself but just in case......)
Well, i'm going with my girlfriend, she told me she wouldn't mind. I will come back to this after my holiday. I'm leaving to Egypt tommorow to work on my tan ! Fuck the dutch weather!
Where do you live by the way? Because I'm going to Rock Werchter the same weekend and we will leave there sundaymorning and drive straight to Nijmegen!
You're going AND to Rock Werchter AND to GN'R. That'll be some cool days. I live in Houten (near Utrecht).
EDIT: Yes fuck the dutch weather and have some nice days in Egypt.

Velvet Revolver. I haven't got anything from Audioslave. They never really attracted me, possibly they are very good.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Darn me, I thought that was the original

I heard this song today on the radio, It's a well known one. But I don't know the name. Can you help me?
It has piano as mane instrument (it's not the pianoman) and a stand out sound is that he sometimes repeats the words:
Into the night night night (softening while repeating) He sings pretty high in this song.
-
it started great end has great riffs. But it got a bit boring after 1,30 minute. Some lyrics could spice things up though.

Metallica is a great band. But it's opinion (yet again, like every conversation here on this forum). Metallica's sad but true, for whom the bell tolls and my friend of misoury are uncredably good songs. There almost as good as GN'R but you can't beat the king.

I heard slash will work with Robbie on Robbie's new album
-
I haven't heard it, but I got 40 licks, and that's more than enough Rolling Stones for me. Null vote.
-
null vote, I only know good charlot, and I don't know anysong from them.
-
Juliette Lewis is under-rated... Lead singer from The Donnas?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
isn't she from juliette and the licks?
-
hmm... some GN'R fan who doesn't like the dylan songs enters this thread. What do you think he'll vote?
Me? I don't know, I pushed the null vote button.

I hate you
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You sound just like my mother.
-
Check out some Bob Dylan lyrics. Then come back and say that lyrics have no meaning. I'll laugh at you if you do that.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
laugh all you want.............
Anyway. Sarah, is indeed about someone >> Sarah. The Hurricane aswell. Lay Laydy Lay much less and Dust in the wind... I don't know. Maybe he thought it sounds cool, maybe he didn't.
Don't get me wrong, I said MOST lyrics seem to be about nothing, some lyrics are about something, like Iron Maiden't Aces High and GN'R Mr. Brownstone.
But most of the pop music is about nothing and loads of other stuff aswell.
-
Metal lyrics are often notoriously cliched, and sometimes get to the extent of being laughable.
Yet if you look hard enough, you can find some intellectual or witty lyrics penned by a lyrical genius.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
take for example this Darkthrone song, Unholy Black Metal
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
These lyrics are exactly what I'm talking about, it's about nothing. When this and this happends....... That doesn't happen, what does he mean with it? nothing, that's what I'm talking about.
-
I think lyrics are very often about nothing, they're just like that because it sounds cool or the words rhyme.
If not please explain why the following lyrics are written:
- Harvester of sorrow- I mean, the lyrics are cool but what does he ACTUALLY want to say with it.
- Ozzy: No more tears, what it's about seems to be changing during the song.
- And (I'm going to hear it for this one) GN'R Coma. I mean, I understand the essence of the beginning perfectly. But than the last part is actually about nothing at all.
the same goes for the garden of eden, explain this:
You got a glass jawed toothache
Of a mental disease
An they be runnin' round back
See 'em line up on their knees
'Cause the kiss ass sycophants
Throwin' penance at your feet
-
well outside of the real "overdrive" you also get overdrive when you put your amp as loud aspossible (you get distortion). Led Zeppelin played with that and some other bands.
But the real effect, I'm not sure. Cream used it. I think they're probably the first.
-
I myself went to see Iron Maiden about a year ago (or 2) and Bruce Dickonson lost it for a moment aswell. Maybe he isn't as sweet and nice as he seems. Steve Harris actually came to Bruce and talked to him.

singer: Ozzy (because of the mellody line from "I don't want to save the world")
Rythem Guitar: James Hatfield (metallica, great riffs)
Lead Guitar: Rhandy Roads (Ozzy, even dead he rules) or slash (GN'R)
Drums: Lars Ulrich (Metallica)
Bass: Cliff Burton (RIP Metallica) or Lemmy Killmister (motorhead)
^Them because they each are great at their instruments but also are great song writers)
-
Cliff Burton or Lemmy Killmister

well to me the metallica, but as a fact> I don't know, I don't think anyone does, it's a metter of opinion.

Can anybody tell me why (if the song really existst) Billy joel made this song about Michael Jackson?
Billy Joel - He's Always A Woman Lyrics
He thinks that he's cool when he unzips his fly
He looks like a girl but he says he's a guy
He only unpeels when he's on MTV
He acts like a child but he's almost a woman to me.
He smashed lots of glass on his latest release
I guess that he's no longer fighting for peace
He thinks that he's BAD
how much worse can he be?
He can moon walk for miles but he's almost a woman to me.
Oh
and he touches himself
And he thinks he can sing
But he's out of his mind.
Oh
all his shows get sold out
Did he keep his same face
Or did he change his mind?
He filmed "Black & White" now he's singing the blues
His antics got onto the ten o'clock news
He got burned up on Pepsi
not coke
or RC
He sings like he's twelve but he's almost a woman to me.
Oh
a thriller he's not
We've all seen what he's got
And it isn't that much
Oh
and he just likes to beat it
And we need not repeat it
He likes his own touch.
He could be a New Kid if he weren't so old
And he's pissed that the Elephant Man won't be sold.
It seems like he hasn't yet reached puberty
We're not sure what he is
he appeared in "The Wiz
But he's almost a woman to me.
-
oh, thanks man, got it completely wrong.

By who was Sweet Home Alabama originally written?
I thought it was lynard Skynard. But I just heard it was from Neil Young.
EDIT: Oh, just listened to the lynard skynard version. Neil young was first. well, atleast he gets metnioned in the lynard skynard version.

hmmmm...... should I buy one soon then, even if I have no one to go with yet... (except for some friendly forum people, but I don't want to be a third leg (or even a fifth wheal))
