  1. A few words from a GNR spokesperson 12/19/02.

I'm not sure if this was posted already but here it is.  I got the link from the Bucketheadland.com site.

    Band still intact...

    Album still coming...

NEWS - Guns N' Roses Intact, Putting Finishing Touches On 'Chinese Democracy'

    12/19/2002

(12/19/02, 6 p.m. ET) - Rumors that Guns N' Roses ended its tour because of the departure of guitarist Robin Finck and bassist Tommy Stinson are false, according to a spokesperson for the band. The spokesperson wouldn't give any details surrounding the reasons that Clear Channel and Guns N' Roses ended their tour affiliation, but did say GN'R is very much intact.

The band and its members, vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Buckethead, drummer Brain, bassist Tommy Stinson, guitarist Robin Finck, et al, are currently on vacation. They will return to the studio in January to put the finishing touches on Chinese Democracy, which the band is releasing in the spring. If it is released next year, it will be the first full album of new original music from Guns N' Roses in 12 years.

  2. I'm not sure if this was posted but I saw it on another site and thought it interesting.   Prior to the official Guns tour cancellation.  Buckethead and Brain were/are scheduled to play with Les Claypool on 1/3/2003.

That would have been the same date GNR were supposed to do the Forum in Cali.  Like I said I guess some people want to play.

  3. It's definitely not over.  Ten years ago it wasn't over.  Maybe it came back with a different makeup. But the Guns N' Roses/Axl saga returned.  I'm not taking sides for or against new or old members.  I saw six shows back in the day and I saw the last show at MSG.  All were good shows.  No it's not over, but I wouldn't hold my breath on a new installment to the story soon.  I think what most fans are thinking is  "Where do we go now?"...

  4. Well said Phillyguy22.  I was at the Philly melee.  I saw the MSG show on Thursday and then the Philly attempt on Friday.  I sat in my seat with 6 friends from beginning to end. And at no time did I see a riot or feel like I was in danger.  I did see stupid people doing stupid things.  A hand full of chairs went on stage.  All the floor seats were knocked over.  In upper levels people took down ceiling tiles and broke chairs and threw them.  I heard there was a chair or tv thrown from a box seating area.  In fact one guy behind me tried to break his chair off and throw it. And I grabbed him and asked him "what the hell are you doing?  stop."   He stopped and just walked away.  People were just pi**ed.  So was I.  A few idiots actually went down to the floor and threw chairs at the sound board and then pushed it over.  Security stayed clear of the floor a while and then just started grabbing people and telling them to split.  Hardly a riot.  Not that what people did was better.  But Philly people being animals,  I agree there were no animals in the FU Center that night just a few fans who were ticked at the band and vented the wrong way...

  5. Recheck your ticketmaster link

I've checked it several times today  In fact two minutes ago.  Vegas tickets unavailable.  San Jose and Sacramento have been confirmed cancelled.  But like you said it all changes depending on what link you read.  The only think certain is once the arena announces its cancelled it doesn't change...

  6. Just checked ticketmaster

    Tickets for Vegas unavailable

    Tix for Dallas were available

    Tic for Florida were available

A side note.  These dates were kind of set up as pre release dates for the album.  Axl told the MSG crowd "We'll see you next summer"  Maybe these shows were just to check public interest...   Who knowns.

  7. This was posted today at 6:00 p.m. eastern time.

(12/10/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- The Guns N' Roses tour is down, but apparently not completely out. The promoters, Clear Channel, still would not acknowledge that the tour is finished. A publicist for the band admitted the tour is in limbo, with some dates still on and others off.

The show scheduled for Wednesday (December 11) at Greenville, South Carolina's BI-LO Center was canceled mid-afternoon on Tuesday (December 10), but the band claimed that it was pulled by Clear Channel, not the group.

This article also stated the Vegas show is off too...

  8. Hey NCGNRFAN I would still drive to that show.  I thought about it and I live in Philly.  I'd like to hear what Axl would have to say about it all.  I was in the FU Center it wasn't really a riot, more like tons of pissed off Guns fans..  And I sat in the 200 section right up until the police made rounds and herded people out.   Maybe they're waiting to see if the show sells out first??

    Good Luck

  9. How about this.   I went on the Bucketheadland site to post a message about the CKY statement of Bucket and Finck arguing.  Other message went up, but this post never got posted??    coincidence?

Ponder this one.  I was at the MSG show.  Several times Buckethead walked off stage in mid song.  Usually when Finck was soloing.  Bucket and Finck never came within 20 feet of each other the whole night  This is fact.  I thought it was strange watching him come and go whenever....

Maybe the illness is true   one member sick of another

  10. Add this to the mix.  CKY was on Philly radio twice today and said tour over...   Was that true or just a way to get rid of the opener?   Add to that if Clear Channel wanted to cancel the tour there may be legal issues where it's not that easy...   just ideas
