  1. Thats great for the people that are going there...

To the RIR I have Xutos e Ponatapes and some two other unknown bands... Xutos is awsome and we will see about the others...

Montley Crue are an awsome supporting act also...

Uhh.. Sorry to mention the Crue are anything but an opening act. Their tour was in the top 5 of ticket sales in the year 2005. The Crue's comeback tour kicked the GnR 02 stint out of the water and over the moutains. Dont let your love of GnR make you post dumb comments like the Crus are a good supporting act..

    I thought their we're 9th in 2005?

Also, they have something to promote, had all it's original members, and had some promotion.

GnR had nothing to promote (Axl himself said that CD wouldn't be done for awhile), 1 of it's ORIGINAL members (Dizzy isn't from the first lineup) and their only promotion was a performance on MTV.

Was it 9? Last time I had checked they were at the five spot. Yeah I understand all that with Axl and Co. but The Crue is not an opening act.. ESPECIALLY to this version of GnR.

I agree, and I doubted that the Crue would actually go through with the gig...

I mean, if the original GnR reunited...then maybe the Crue would open...

  3. If You Have...I'm not exactly sure which DVD, whether it's House Of Blues 2001, or VMA's 2002 Rehearsal (I think it's that one), the studio version is playing on the menu.

01.01.01 DVD has a studio demo version on the Menus.

I find that hard to believe... Im sure i would have it by now if it was... you sure its not a mega touched up live recording?

No, it is the demo, which is why a certain someone that has it is refusing to trade it or anything. (That, and other reasons...)
  4. you must mean repetitive music. this song follows the same boring and "safe" formula as madagascar, twat, the blues, and even irs. it's uninspiring. if it wasn't for the great guitar leads, these songs would be the same old shit that's been on the pop stations for the last decade. i'm not impressed yet.

    at least better is cool.

I take it that you don't like Queen or The Beatles?

You can really hear the influence of them on CITR...Brian May even plays on it..

i admitted the guitar leads are good, it just sounds like axl arranged the songs with fruity loops

I agree, they are arranged wierd, but these are demos, they will change when we hear them on CD

    CITR

To be frank TheGreatOne, your description didn't exactly provide a great deal of extra insight to the track. Most of that stuff you said could of been assertained from the 9 second clip. Fuck me! A guitar solo?! In a G'N'R song?! Who'd have thought...

You should of posted something about the length of the song and maybe even a small sample of the lyrics to even have a small chance of convincing the more cynical members of this board (myself included).

    Bullshit meter is at 100.

That is probally the right answer.

But who knows, many people were doubting wes, too...

  6. you were fine until the last paragraph. I doubt one release by Axl's band will haunt VR in any way. VR will keep on rocking, and does not live or die by what some other artist releases. You can't stop the Big Machine.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    intelligent as usual. :sleeper:

As was the fine paragraph that he was laughing at, especially the bolded part. ;)

You know whats wierd? There has been more and more GnR fans posting here...but also, a lot of other members who usually would stay in the VR or AG section, because they didn't like this version of GnR, have began posting here and are now slamming the new band or any comparison to VR or other bands, right when activity is picking up for the fans who like the new band.

I don't know...it's just wierd how they're now posting in this section as regulars...

  7. You do know that NIN opened for GN'R in '91, right?

    ...

True. Unfortunately, the shows were overseas, where NIN wasn't that well known back then. As a result, the audience booed them off the stage.

I think it would be different if they toured together this time around.

Didn't Trent say that that was the only time where he was booed off stage?
  8. Wow.

What the fuck is wrong with people here?

ONE person could have said something like "That wasn't funny, it hits too close to home" or something...not the 10-15 people going apeshit about it.

  9. Damn...Axl isn't in the running for having the best week ever :P

Yeah, he should've really been in the running. I mean, he's been getting alot more publicity recently, one of his demos made it to an international chart and he's announcing his appearance at festivals. Who the hell has done better this week?

Damn...he's not even in the sizzler :(
  10. Why I chose to do it that way is that, you know, I can sit and write poetry 'til hell freezes over, and getting attached to any particular set of words... I felt that I would write to those words in a dated fashion, and we really wouldn't get the best music. "Oh My God" is a perfect example. When we finally got "Oh My God" where it needed to be, then I got the right words to it. With "Appetite," I wrote a lot of the words first, but in, like, "Oh My God," I wrote the words second, but the music was written like "Appetite." We kept developing it until it we got it right. [With] "Appetite," everything had been worked on, and worked on, and worked on. That was not the case with "Use Your Illusion."

Hmm, considering that "Oh My God" is a piece of shit, maybe he should go back to the old strategy.

Isn't that funny...the guy who wrote "that piece of shit" is now headlining pretty much every major festival this summer. Wierd, huh?

Show me one guy in this entire world that knows Axl Rose and/or Guns n' Roses as "That guy/band that wrote 'Oh My God.'" Face it. Unless you really adore Metallica's "Reload," then "Oh My God" is probably a piece of shit in your eyes, too.

Well, lets just say I wouldn't put it on my list of favorite GnR songs, but at least it's better than most music out there today...
  11. As for "every" major summer festival - c'mon, you can't be seriously saying that. Rock In Rio? That's every summer festival now? Coachella, Bonnaroo, Vegas Bonaroor, Teluride, Lollapalooza... they don't count anymore?
Umm...haven't you noticed...RIR isn't the only place their playing this Summer. Try:

    Download

    RIR

    Gods of Metal

    Rock am Ring

    Nova Rock

    ?

Lets see...I'll go to Coachella to see the greatest band ever... Octopus Project! YEE HAW! Sounds like fun ;)

I've never even heard of the other festivals other than Lollapalooza...and I said almost every major festival ;)
