Classic style or not. He's rushing it. There's also the fact that he sounds more aggressive in parts where Adler would add a longer pause (slightly off tempo, aka "groove") and Sorum would play it more "square", if you know what I mean. I think he just needs more time touring with the rest of the band. Rehearsals are just different.

I guess the subtext here is "we have sorted it out ourselves". It would've been more constructive if simply put that way but some kind of communication is better than none. With that being said, I think they risk burning bridges with people who didn't really claim any influence over the reunion but were credited as such.

"what would knocking on heavens door be without you on the drums?" LOL
haha. That's what I was thinking
Looking forward to that drum solo.

Duff - Got his shit together after the early 90s, definitely grew up a lot as a person but still is a great player and seems to be a down to earth guy.

Not trending on Yahoo but the money is the same.
Trending on Facebook. What's a Yahoo?

wasnt everybody pissed that gnr hasnt changed their setlist that much since 2001, that it was time to stop playing the afd songs?
well, if a reunion happens be prepared for more years of that same, tired setlist....
but maybe salsh could stand on the piano while playing the solo
#INTEGRITY
cant wait to hear the new version of the godfather theme
maybe this time it will be longer
Well, nothing would prevent them from playing VR and CD2 songs. Too good to be true though.

It sold ONLY ONE copy in Southamerica and they inmediately dissected the tape, put it up on YouTube for the "bros" to watch at the cyber-cafe
(will not tell to which channel it is uploaded, tho' )
..which they didn't because they were busy responding to your mom's messages on Whatsapp.

Based on what Dizzy is saying now and what happened before CD. We should be less than 5 years away from new material.

looking very seriously starts now!

Are you guys really focusing on the setlist comment and ignoring the "we have too much material" one? I mean, hahaha. They don't even play a new song live these days because they have too much material recorded to go through! It's overwhelming.

Axl's voice got 2000% better.

I can safely state now that I play SCOM intro better than Ashba.

Duff looked better than anyone else up there. THAT'S why he doesn't fit in.
This.

Do you remember when Robin used to sound pretty awful? 2006 came along and he looked and sounded like another person; the guy was playing amazingly well. DJ has never reached round 2. The "I will make it look like I am Slash" doesn't help either.

Problem is releasing records is almost a futile enterprise. Especially new material. Old music sells more than new. People want a iPod or phone with the history of music on it.
So the label aren't that bothered.
So Axl would be right to hold on to make what he thinks is right artistic statement.
In one hand he doesn't release more of the material they've recorded but still go out and tour playing the hits with the new band. What's the artistic statement here?
A proper artistic statement would be to suck it up and tour with the people who actually wrote most of the songs or release the material written with the folks in this current incarnation of the band.
Don't get me wrong. I think he's doing just right playing the hits with the new band. The problem is to refuse to actually release material recorded with them; and if it is because there is no money to be made. There is no artistic integrity here. Don't tell me "but CD has been released". We are still talking about "the band" which has released a single studio album since 1993. It's 2014.
It's like if you retire but continued to randomly stop by the office, giving your "new teammates" instructions they had to follow but blocked them to get key parts of their work done. Could he just be (even if subconsciously) afraid that BBF, Ashba and others will have 1 second of actual mainstream fame and leave him?
tl;dr Axl Rose seems to be a living insecure contradiction.

This looks like Bumblefoot and friends. He's on fire and the band sounds really amazing. Axl just needs to put his act together one more time and good things may still come out of it. I am not holding my breath though.

It looks like Axl is wearing the same exact outfit at each show.
That seems a little weird. I can see maybe busting out that same jacket and hat if he's going for a signature look or something. But why would you wear the same pants and t-shirt at every show?
Maybe they are filming each show and Axl/Beta want him to look the same so at the end of the tour they can pick out all the highlights and package it as a live performance dvd?

Axl sounded crappy on most moments
Thank you for your sincerity.
Looks like you had a blast. Well done, Manets.
Ditto.
I am glad you had a good time, Manets!

Very short, but it does sound better than the previous shows, even though the vocals are pretty clean.
He sounds like a shadow of his former self and no I am not talking about 92'. Seriously, folks. I would be the first in line to defend the guy if he had hit the gym and took his own voice seriously between legs of the endless ChiDem tour. It seems he doesn't record albums anymore so touring is his primary job. He has no excuses.
You are just setting the bar ridiculously low for someone making millions by performing his work from 20+ years ago at a very poor level. I don't expect to see a 27 years old on stage. I do think that he should be somewhere between 06' stage presence and 10' voice. The problem is that he doesn't give a fuck and still has lots of delusional enablers to keep him going.
Heck, have you forgotten this was the guy who disappeared from stages for almost a decade? You would expect someone like him to push harder, esp. after what happened to MJ, but no, he's just pulling out an Elvis at this point.
Someone else made a point that "the media" is supposedly praising the concerts. Are you saying we care what the media thinks about this incarnation of the band now? If you do, all I see are snarky comments about black towels, Axl being the only original member and the concerts starting late. I am fluent in Portuguese, so don't BS me with "ermahgerd, the Brazilian media is in love with the band now". They couldn't care less but will report on it. That's the same media reporting that Paris Hilton landed in Rio. They will write an article about any foreigner that was/is a celebrity reinforcing whatever stereotypes were set beforehand.

Seems he finished Jungle off well.
Where? That ending was fucking brutal, especially his attempt to run and sing at the same time which brings back VMA flashbacks.
Axl doesn't sound like a gifted or pro singer in this short clip at all. The age of "run and sing" is over. I feel sorry for the guy. Actually, I've been thinking about it lately. Sorry as a song fits like a glove if you think about it as a message from a concerned fan to him. :/
