In fact, he did blow his voice out in 2010. It's recovering, but it will probably never sound the same.

Yeah I know. But I mean, like completely blown out like Plant where he won't even try to sing the old stuff.

Of course that material is challenging, but so is GN'R material. Sucks that he feels he can't mail it in with the AC/DC stuff, meanwhile we get Mickey Mouse on YCBM every night. Doesn't show much respect for the GN'R fanbase to be honest.

If he sang full on rasp on every song for all these years he would have completely blown his voice out by now. This AC/DC thing is 12 dates.

They run that like a military operation.

You are only allotted 12 minutes, and that is strictly enforced.  They make you practice getting on and off the field in time with people standing in fro the crowd that day.

You are required to attend media day and answer a bunch of dumb ass question.  Doesn't matter who you are.  The Stones and Paul McCartney had to do it.

Do these sound like things Axl would do?

With Slash back, I'm on the "anything is possible" (kevin garnett style) badwagon until further notice.

Let's hope that they do not call the GNR, of if they do that the GNR does not answer.

The exposure from the Super Bowl is undeniable, but I cannot recall a rock band that's performed the halftime show that hasn't come off looking lame, old, and done.

Axl can go all out for a few songs and not look bad. Jungle at the last Vegas show was legit as good as his prime.

These guys are professional musicians. Of course they're doing it for money. Every tour is a cash grab. So is every album. When I go to work, it's a cash grab too. That's not a bad thing. It's a reality in a market economy. Work is exchanged for money. Get over it.

They are supposed to play the starving artist role forever so GnR_Stockholm can be happy...

Perhaps you don't even know what Richard can pull off from that guitar. And I'm not talking about Gn'R stuff, the guy is technically a monster and an all-around guitarist. He can play everything.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand, since Izzy departed I haven't heard anything THAT good from Slash.
He remains the Guns N' Rosrs legendary guitarist, but saying "don't compare him to Richard" is inappropriate.

Great, but what classic riffs/solos/songs has he written? Writing is part of the equation of being considered a great MUSICIAN. And I like Fortus, but let's stop with the hyperbole.

CD: Very good, he stays on Robin solo and he adds some good licks
TIL: Starts good but gets lost after
    Better: GOOD LORD NOPE

Fact is, his takes on those solo are really good as improvisations, but for being solid and definitive...he REALLY has to work on them.

I don't think it's fair to really compare live improvisations to recorded songs. If he sat down and re-recorded it then he'd add more melody to it.

  8. First off, calling fans of the old band mullet-heads is pretty lame and borderline autistic.

I was lukewarm on Chinese Democracy, but Slash bringing his own style to these songs has kind of rekindled my interest in them. I'm hopeful we will get a new release because the old creative differences (which is really the main reason they broke up) seem to have been minimized.

Those scenes are my least favorites as well. I enjoyed the first Avengers, second one is 100x worse than BvS, but Marvel gets a free pass for sucking it seems.

Yeah, I'll get off my high-horse for a second. I was entertained by the Avengers overall, I just can't call it a good movie. Marvel fanboys gonna fanboy.

A right step would be to remove the generic faceless alien "boss" and follow a new route but well, children viewers are still a target so it's kinda impossible... And they're still comic book movies after all.

Well, that's why I don't understand how an adult can say with a straight face that The Avengers was a good movie. I mean yeah, the banter between the team was fun. But I was bored to tears during the final video game CGI fest fight scene.

  11. I no longer like Superhero movies, except for anything Batman related (and the first two Iron Man movies and Deadpool), because he's just a dude. I loved everything about Batman in this movie and wished it were JUST Batman and Superman and a supervillain. This is going to get to be a cluster-f*ck with all the superheroes just like the Avengers is, with their 30 minute CGI battle royal against faceless enemies (yes, even the first Avengers sucked). I do hope the solo Affleck Batman movie happens with Affleck directing.

  12. First off, you gotta say, never hold your breath on new material. HOWEVER, I have no doubt there were some games going on behind the scenes with the label not exactly being receptive to supporting a new album after CD. Now that the reunion has happened, I imagine the label is going to make it as easy as ever for Axl to release something. That is what gives me some hope, along with Axl apparently seeming reinvigorated. I'm going to get rid of the cynicism and enjoy the ride.
