I remember paying money to be able to stream it and being so pumped to watch a pro-shot acoustic gig...
Eddie Vedder did a couple of covers because Guns were running late (as per tradition for that era).
Finally they come out and wow... I just felt soooo sorry for those kids... no part of their bodies worked properly except their ears and they had to sit through it being literally too disabled to even be able to leave. Completely inhumane.

Yeah, either RQ or Coma should have been there instead of So Fine (or both, if we replace Madagascar as well).
Only RiR3 Madagascar is worthy, Coma and RQ should also be in there for sure.

Seems fake, amongst other things it is hard to imagine "Jackie Chan" being the title circa 2008 when the Village CD's have it recorded in 2000 and titled "Hardschool".
Also the Jackie Chan movie they were supposedly writing a song for (I believe) was released in 1996.

At this point I don't think anything is "top secret", it just seems like it because they never tell us anything we want to hear.
Unlike 2002 they've told us they're cancelling shows (before the riot!) and they've spent more time promoting the release of a childrens book than they did Chinese Democracy.
It is no secret that Axl has sold out, we just need to start listening.

Yep, that's fake. We've had several threads on that here in the past. Here's the last time the real artist behind that clip was discussed:
http://www.mygnrforum.com/topic/222320-fake-gnr-2019-leak-found-on-youtube/Anyway, wow! The guy does have an amazing voice. Gonna buy his album when he releases it, closest thing to new Axl vocals we're gonna get for a while

I assume you're referring to the well known fake that people are trying to pass off as real again.
That's my guess too. It's funny, but one of the things I'm looking forward to the most about a new album is how humorous the credits for each song will be.
If this is a fake then it is a remarkably good one. Lyrics start with (my interpretation) "I don't know what you're proud of when you're only looking eyes".

There is also the recent 32 second 'track 9' leak, only a cell phone recording - doesn't seem like anyone is talking about it here?

Maybe there's something about Axl that makes him angry when he hears of children being locked in cages?
Probably not the worst thing that happens to these kids on the journey (14yo girls arrive at the border with morning after pills packed by their parents), and those laws haven't changed since Obama - if he's reacting to this then he's watching too much Fake News.
Some musicians release politically motivated songs.... Maybe theres something locked in the vault

He never wore Che Guevara's tshirts. That's too much for a poser like Axl.
You appear to be correct, my mistake - I've confused the "kill your idols" slogan - Axl wore one with a picture of Jesus.

Now just a guess on my own, but it probably has something to do with everything Trump has said and done
The fact that he doesn't do interviews, doesn't release new music, used to wear Che Guevara (not the hero most people think) and Charles Manson tshirts etc. - its hard to fathom how he now identifies with "the left" and makes the effort to regularly comment against Trump on Twitter.
Makes me feel there must be some specific thing/issue... or maybe he just watches too much "fake news"
-
Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a theory why Axl is so anti-Trump?
-
My read on the chats where Axl replies "Down by the Ocean (Izzy)" is that it is Izzy's song and not a Gn'R title... the above song's lyrics are too much of a coincidence IMO

Axl sounding good so far!

Out of interest I tried listening to Steven vs Frank vs album on My Michelle... I do think the song as a whole sounds better with Steven, but their versions went for the exact same amount of time... both are way faster than the album version.
My opinion/theory - Frank throws in way too many fills and makes everything sound muddy/faster tempo, whereas Steven's style is more 'feel' and complimentary to the rest of the band.
Would love to see Steven on Rocket Queen & Paradise City, but very happy for all of them (and us) that he could be involved at all!

LOL Frank messed up the beginning
Worth it to see the infamous "Slash head turn"
Poor Frank... Axl skipped the "You're in the jungle baby" bit so the whole band had to adjust - it just took frank half a second longer to realise!

I wonder if he has the rasp?
Not sure about the rasp, but he is definitely looking less bloated and is in a good mood!

When Axl said the truth would come out about the Montreal riot, what did he mean? Didn't he walk off complaining off voice problems and was seen backstage drinking champagne & smoking?
When did he say that?
At some gig last year or year before.
Montreal 2010, skip to 45 seconds in:
Thanks. Wonder what he means.
I expect he is referring to the incident in 1992 http://ultimateclassicrock.com/guns-n-roses-1992-montreal-riot/ - certainly nothing to do with a new album!
-
I like it.
It sounds more like Muse than Gn'R - but it's catchier than anything on CD.

Thanks for posting!

It's been 1 year since Beta's father died, RIP.
What's the anniversary for Axl's voice? -
One of the more interesting interviews I've heard in a long long time. Thanks for sharing!

The first thing I've heard about Limp Bizkit in 10 years is about them dressing up like a band that hasn't been together for 20 years....

All the 'New GNR' band members just seem like the most down to earth, awesome guys.
