To be honest, I think it would've surpassed it. No tacky cover versions or b-grade material like Back Off Bitch or Garden of Eden. Just straight up killer rocknroll.

I had to omit Estranged as you can't have four 8+min epics on one album.

    1. Right Next Door To Hell
    2. Dust N Bones
    3. Civil War
    4. Bad Obsession
    5. Don't Cry
    6. Locomotive
    7. Breakdown
    8. Double Talkin Jive
    9. November Rain
    10. The Garden
    11. You Could Be Mine
    12. Bad Apples
    13. Coma

Bad Apples should be nowhere near a Use Your Illusion 1 disc album

I must be the only person that genuinely rates Eye On You highly! Imagine that blasting out at a gig- would sound absolutely fantastic.

Eye On You kicks ass.... imagine if we got access to the vault...there is probably loads of great experimental stuff there...but Axl just sits on his ass..refusing to release music..Christ the dude has serious issues...needs a good kick up the hole

I don't think Axl's intention was to only release 1 album in 30 years. He talked about what he wanted to do and it was a lot more compared to what we got. In the end I believe the consequences of his hard headed approach and perfectionism to relaunching Gn'R, the popularity of the classic lineup, and the influence and agendas of some of the people he worked with have all contributed to the failure of new Guns.

and maybe at some point he just said "fuck it" after reconnecting with Duff cause he was smart enough to see he ran out of do-overs and the only way to move forward successfully was to reunite with Slash. Everytime someone quit the band, it had lost the momentum it had and some of it's identity.

I think Axl makes a distinction between touring and studio albums and the reason he hoards completed material is cause the quality of the records and the legacy of the band still means a lot to him (just a guess)

It's always someone else's fault...how do other artists manage to release material?.

Fernando can sleep easy tonight knowing that I expect literally nothing from GN'R except a big shit sandwich

Just joking, would love to hear new music with Axl singing, but I have absolutely no expectations of ever seeing such an announcement. My guess is we won't see an official release of any kind until at least 2025, probably even later :shrugs: Wish that weren't the case, but it is

2025?...really? ..based on what logic?...or did you just pull that year out of your arse...nobody knows anything..

The one potential upside to Slash leaving would be a heightened possibility of hearing the "CD2" songs released with Bucket and Robin on it, assuming they intend or have re-recorded all of their parts for an eventual release with songs from that era.

One bummer will be if they re-record all of Brain's drums with Frank. I hope they do what they did with CD, and leave most of Brain's work alone.

Fuck me..that band is done..if it was good enough Axl would have released it..move on

Even if they had new music ready to be released (which they don't), it makes no sense to put it out now. The money is all in touring and new music can't sell tickets when they can't have concerts.

AC/DC are about to release a new album... Bon Jovi just released one..its shit..but he still got it out...Smashing Pumpkins are releasing a new album next month...tired of excuses.. Eddie Van Halen just died ...life is short...someone should tell Axl

Yeah, everyone talks about the quality of their bsides, but almost all of their albums bar one are wildly inconsistent and full of filler. Bands/artists should only release bsides if they have enough quality material for their main albums imo.

That's a bit harsh...Definitely Maybe and What's the Story are all killer no filler....I fucking love the obnoxious cocaine fueled Be Here Now...My Big Mouth is incredible, Dont Believe The Truth was great as well..

At the time, I was excited about DJ joining. I'd seen him with Sixx AM in 2008 and he was good enough, and entertaining. He'd had a big hit on the rock charts the year before, and helped with Motley's relatively successful Saints Of LA album. He was different from Finck of course, but the 2009 lineup did have some great potential. I don't think Axl really started 'going through the motions' until 2011, at which point DJ also started getting a lot sloppier.

The first Beautiful Creatures album with DJ is fucking great...the dude can write hard rock riffs and songs... don't know why he was such a dud with GNR..the absolute butchering of the This I Love solo..Mother of God

I think he'll feel less pressure releasing this next record now that he has two other buddies with their heads on blocks beside him. I think he'll be just as collaborative as he was during the CD sessions.

Let's remain cautiously optimistic for the end of the year or start of next, after that we can collectively give up😄

Its not gonna be released until they tour again..so you are looking at late next summer....and if the Americans continue to not treat Covid seriously... well ....we are going to be waiting longer than that

I think the most important thing is that the quality is at least somewhat comparable to the rest of the albums in Gn'R's catalog. Like Faith No More's Sol Invictus or Tool's Fear Inoculum. It didn't fuck it up. Maybe less like Metallica's Hardwired. Double albums seemed to go over well for Metallica and Maiden fans. (The Book Of Souls)

at least when Slash says he's working on Guns stuff I can believe it and he usually comes up with a lot of ideas so I don't think lack of old or new ideas should be a problem.

maybe it's best to just release a potential double album all at once so Axl doesn't get a chance to not be in the mood to release the second half.

    Hardwired was a great album

I think Fernando saying that Covid prevented them from new music is because they wanted to tie it to the tour. Probably they were going to release Hardschool as a single at least.

But man, if this was true, the GNR fanbase is the fanbase with the worst luck in the history of music. They've had 12 years of opportunities to release new music, four years since the reunion and JUST when they're about to release new music covid hits.

Imagine how Liverpool fans feel..waiting 30 years for a league title
