I have a Guns n roses/ Metallica t-shirt from when they were touring america with UYI and the black album... bout it off ebay for $10

Got a link or pic? I'd like to see 'em.

  2. hey

hopefully we got some people here who know about using software and stuff. normally someone does it for me  but i decided to use little home recording software, so i tried kristal software. it`s free and actually pretty easy to use.

but how do i get all the layers together. if i record three layers and save it, it`s gonna give me three layers saved. so how do i make "one song" out of this, so i can burn it on cd or something???

thanks guys and sorry i am not into this stuff ;)

How do you record through your computer?

  3. DONT FORGET, YOU CAN'T GET CERTAIN TONES UNLESS YOU HAVE THE SAME EQUIPMENT AS THE ARTIST WHO'S PLAYING THE SONG!!!

    Calm down.

You mean the intro? thats just delay.

For the general distortion, i think for the large part its just playing around with your controls.

What equipment have you got? Have you got an overdrive/distortion pedal?

i got no pedel's as i'm too skint to afford any atm. and i'm playing a Vintage made Les Paul with a Marshall MG30DFX

Hey, same as me B) .

Except for i've got the 15 watt version :(

I've just had a quick look at your one (bearing in mind i don't have quite as much controls), and i'd say for these mashall amps, for izzys guitar (left ear) have the gain low around 2-3 (that may sound low, but its about 1/4 of the circle round, plus izzys has a more of a bluesy sound than slash's). For Slash's it has a higher gain around 8 i'd say (thats about 3/4 round the circle). I usually have my bass very low (i don't think it does an awful lot on marshall amps, but i keep it low anyway), with treble and contour on full.

Another thing to do is get a footswitch, as your amp has a socket for it (i don't know how much they cost though)

  4. they were fairly good i thought. the intro was obviously wrong, but apart from that i thought it was pretty good.

what? The intro didn't sound wrong to me, but on the other hand, the little "sweep solo" did :book:

Note wise it sounded pretty much spot on, its just in the octaves. Sounded and octave lower than it should be to me.

Edit: listening to it again, i think it is in the correct octave actually. :)

  5. You send blank discs, and postage money with a self addressed envelope, and the person burns the concert to the blank dvds and sends them back in the envelope. Not much more to it, really.

I usually just make sure there is a stamp on the one thats coming back to you as well as the one going there. That way you don't need to send money.

  6. I was born in Detroit where I lived most of my young life, I know its a shit hole of a city, but I love it down there. I just like the urban environment, everything is so close together, a few minutes of a walk away, and its so big. I also like the bustle, how there is always something going on. Fuck, I just love everything thing about the city, the lights at night are quite the scenery too.

But a few years ago my dad moved through the ranks at his work, to the point where we had to move closer to the middle of Michigan because he has offices all over the state and it would be a more convienent location. So we moved to a small but rich town with the best school district in the state, right outside of the capitol city of Lansing. I hate it here. Its boring, it smells like cow shit, and the school has really high expectations that just never seem to meat, no matter what. Sure, Ive met some cool people and made some good friends, those who got me into music and such, but I miss life in Detroit.

Its quite ironic, most of the people living in Detroit would kill to be as fortunate as my family and live in a town like mine, while I have this fortunate life and would much rather live in the city... where it all began. I guess at the end of the day its not about money or education at all, whatever, Im still trying to figure a bunch of shit out.

I might have strayed off topic, I dont know

no no you didn't... this is a really great read from most of you guys

    Yeah, interesting read there sweetness.

  7. Well.. I was brought up on a shit hole council estate in a rough part of manchester.. I've smoked 20 a day since I was was 12.. I've lived with my dad since I was 13 after my mother threw me out coz she couldn't handle me.. Been arrested twice for possesion of cannabis..

I've spent most of my last 4/5 years at my uncle's flat smoking pot and drinking.. Listening to great music.. They taught me between them how to play guitar and bass..

Its probably more a working class upbringing than a rock n roll upbringing thinking about it... :drevil:

    xDSGx

    That sounds...sorta...hard to believe? :chef:

    Thats what i was thinking.
