  1. Tom Petty has passed away and the rights to his archive footage turned into a mess, with legal battles over ANY little small or big thing. Release of a Wildflowers reissue with additional tracks (it was a double album originally) has been notched and there's lawsuits flying even over his house.

Even on this situation there's going to be a stream of an unreleased concert tonight.

If you have any excuse over Fernando and TB's management or Axl and releasing material, I think it's time to see things as they really are.

If the booklet is your source then I wouldn't trust it. We have Fortus on video specifically explaining which part he wrote while seeming very proud (as he should be) while playing that chorus riff. That part is the balls of the song and this is one of the main reasons why I think he's a good fit for this band with Slash. He can bring that element to the material which is crucial imo.

I remember this video, but couldn't find it. does anyone have it at hand?

Also I don't remember if it's on the same video that he discusses working on Slash era riffs and ideas.

These videos would be nice to rewatch, in hindsight!

  3. Funny thing is that Stevie Salas was up to Buckethead's spot around 2000:

Stevie Salas jammed with the new Guns N' Roses line-up at a recording studio in Los Angeles. They played such classic songs as "Welcome To the Jungle," "Its So Easy, "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Paradise City" and "You Could Be Mine." The jam session went on for about 5 hours and reportedly they really rocked!

I haven't bought a CD in ages, but I did get back into collecting vinyl a few years back so that's how I buy all of my physical media now. I begrudgingly joined the streaming world a couple months back which I do like a lot for travel. It helps to have a wide variety of music on me at all times. I don't like it for listening at home though because I very much love everything about physical media; the cover art, passing it around, the media itself, etc. I really hope those aspects never go away, but that could just be the old person in me helping.

Having said all of that; this is the one question I didn't get from the interviewer. It's not like digital will be the only way to get music any time soon, so I don't see that being a worry overall. I guess I see asking about most people getting it that way, but if a new GN'R album were to come out in the next 5 years, I would bet good money that it will see a CD & vinyl release for certain.

The interviewer is Brazilian and here the reality is way different than in US. Vinyl and physical media is a niche, for rich people basically. Streaming, especially free like YouTube, and illegal downloads are the most common way of accessing music. I think it was supposed to be a different question, regarding new releases, disguised as physical vs digital but Axl and Duff dodged that bullet.

  5. If, and ONLY if i was in the band, I would like to play a setlist like this:

    1 Welcome To The Jungle

    2 Outta Get Me

    3 You Could Be Mine

    4 Better

    5 NEW SONG

    6 Mr. Brownstone

    7 Chinese Democracy

    8 It's So Easy

    9 NEW SONG

    10 Estranged

    11 Madagascar

    12 Sweet Child O' Mine

    13 Patience

    14 IRS

    15 Civil War

    16 November Rain

    17 There Was a Time

    18 My Michelle

    Encore:

    19 The Blues

    20 Don't Cry

    21 Paradise City

    At least I can dream...

But I think it wouldn't be so far off the reality... Maybe the illusions' songs wouldn't be played, but, you'll never know...
