not to be pessimistic but does anyone else feel this Axl breaking his foot stuff is kind of partially ruining this GNR comeback ? This is the first big public comeback essentially and then coachella in a few days (im assuming he will still be in a cast then), this would not be a big deal to me if say this happened 3 months from now but at the start kinda lame.

But I must admit the band in particular Axl are sounding great so far.

Not me, I think it's pure crazy rock and totally befitting this reunion.

  2. I agree that it will be interesting to see if this is a working band or just a touring band. Though I'd like to see guest spots from other lineups maybe, I fear that too much of that turns it into the latter. I'd rather this incarnation produced stuff together.

Michael Jackson had a good voice too.. Don't want him in Gn'R.. Tons of bands have a keyboard player to help out live.. Guns N' Roses have Dizzy.. That is more than enough.. Was the Skin N' Bones tour suffering without some little pop chick singing and dancing? Experimenting with synth sounds over classic rock songs and sticking out like a sore thumb while she is at it? I'm sorry.. The inclusion of her is just god awful.

You're not wrong, I'm just consciously not letting it bug me. Yet, at least.

  4. Locomotive hands down. It's the perfect storm of musicianship, awesome lyrics, Slash's guitar work, and Axl's multiple UYI "voices". It's also more likely to get played than Coma, which would be my pick otherwise. FINALLY and most importantly, it's Slash's, and I want more than anything for GnR to "belong" to all 3 originals again.

They're gonna need 2 if you ask me. I'd be fine with AiC doing the tour, but I think they'll still need another band on the bill. It's been suggested in the thread, but I think someone like Royal Blood or Rival Sons would be a good idea for the first opener.

I know you're not a fan (and Axl probably isn't either), but QOTSA would be cool as one of the openers.

  6. I was a huge fan of the possibilities of the CD era, but it became increasingly clear and disappointing from somewhere in '06 on that it wasn't going to be the creative juggernaut I was hoping for in '02. The whole thing just steadily lost steam which is sad.

But since I grew up with GNR, now that Slash and Duff are back, the whole CD era seems like a weird dream.
