I'll give you my spin on it, I was there. Axl saw this guy taking pictures for an hour and 1/2. He finally decided to get pissed off. He gave the security about 5 seconds to take care of it, and he jumped into the crowd. A minute or so later, he slapped a security guard on the ear. Then he took off, riot followed soon after.

He's really gonna love looking out on a sea of camera cell phones next time around then.

It's not about being biased. It's about having common sense. You don't need to post every little thing that springs into your mind. Axl doesn't seem to take all comments that personally... seemingly you do! Does that make him a better guy? Yes.

I haven't seen Axl complain much at all.

He's been quite silent about commenting about anything in the press for much of the past decade.

And let's not forget that he went ape shit when some guy in the crowd was spotted wearing a SLASH t-shirt at a live show. I mean these people pay good money to be entertained not persecuted. Most professional athletes have no problem with being booed or slated for putting in a bad performance - they accept that it comes with the territory. Why should Axl be allowed to disrespect the fans like this - is HE above the law?

I, on the other hand, actually PREFER the new material to most of what I've heard before. I feel the new stuff is good - classic Axl voice / stylings with more contemporary and explorative musical stylings.

By stating that you actually PREFER some leaked, unfinished demos and Oh My God (the only finished track legally released so far) to undisputed all-time classics such as Welcome, SCOM, Estranged, Patience, Paradise, Nightrain etc is not only ridiculous, it's laughable. When the original guys hooked up with Axl in the beginning there was no money, fame or rock star egos to deal with. It was five starving musicians against the world with a common goal to make great music. It was a brotherhood of equals who shared a common goal. This is well documented. Everything changed as the band got bigger and Axl's psychotic personality disorders, inflated ego, creative and monetary greed and numerous paranoias about what he saw as HIS band eventually served to destroy it. I keep hearing this on the forum but i don't see any evidence to back it up. I have read in Rolling Stone and other various reputable sources that Slash and Duff left b/c they got sick and tired of waiting around for so long to release a record and play live and could no longer tolerate Axl's threats, bullying and overblown ego. Sorum has been quoted as saying he was fired (or quit) after sticking up for Slash when Axl and one of the guitar monkeys were dissing him and Sorum called them on it, much to Axl's chagrin. This 'not willing to evolve' is completely unfounded BS.

When are you going to get it through your thick skull that I/WE ARE Guns 'n'Roses fans? The last G'n'Roses record of original music was released in September 1991 with Axl, Slash,Duff, Izzy, Matt Sorum, Stevie Adler and Dizzy Reed as the participating musicians and that (along with Gilby Clarke) is the last line up we can relate to as Guns 'n'Roses. The current incarnation is yet to release a record or even play a live show to support it. So, until then, when we can make our decision on whether or not we will continue to support the band, you and your fellow Axl worshippers have no ammunition in your fruitless crusade to tell us we are not G'n'R fans if we don't accept a band we are yet to see any product from! This thread is dealing with the fact that there is NO lead guitarist to replace Bucket, or more importantly SLASH, the iconic lead guitar figure that all who come and go will be judged by, by us, the paying public. According to you, FINCK is the man for the job as he did such a great job in 2002. Funny that, seeing as other members here have said he butchered solos for some of the classic material and isn't up to the job. So, until the new band proves itself with a new record and a stable live tour by which they can be judged, we owe neither them or you anything.

Axl should not change the name or go solo. He was and is the heart and soul of guns. Slash and co left cause they didn't want to change. Same old shit a la VR.

First up, you obviously don't understand the dynamics of a classic band. One member does not carry the load of a great group. It's about chemistry within and every member plays an integral part. As i've said before there's a reason why Led Zep never carried on after their drummer died and they could've had anyone they wanted (this is not a comparison of Adler/Sorum to Bonham btw). The only people who THINK G'N'R is Axl are those too young to have seen them first hand and understand the integrity and chemistry of the original guys. It was a brotherhood of equals. Now it's a puppet show of no names with a famous has-been pulling the strings.

Secondly, where does this crap about other band members not wanting to change come from? Has Slash or anyone else involved ever stated that that's why they all bailed? They just got tired of Axl and waiting around to rock for over 10 years! it's all documented. You talk like these guys are stuck in the stoneage and incapable of evolving musically which is utter nonsense. You don't have to be Trent fucking Reznor or Moby to create cutting edge music. Unfortunatley, the reality is that Axl is not a decent human being (as he fully admits himself), and he sure doesn't give a flying fuck about the fans like Axl's Disillusion, as he has proven over and over again, more so than ever since the UYI days. However, i still appreciate what Axl did back in the day, and for that i still listen to his past repertoire with fondness and respect. However, the guy really needs to either go into obscurity and live of his vast wealth now, go solo and stand or fall on his own merits or just back down and do a Motley type original member reunion deal with the possibly of a new record after. That's the only way forward as far as i'm concerned.
