  1. The haters and doomsayers are well.....doomed to eat their words.....I'm going to enjoy this too much!!

Please explain to the forum UniBrowChild how these "haters" and "doomsayers" are "doomed to eat their words?"

As the polls and majority of comments here have alreadyproven, what the majority of fans want is the type of band they remember. A band that had five distinct personalities, a band with chemistry, attitude, integrity and recognition that had risen from nothing to take the world by storm and become the most exciting, refreshing band since the punk movement of the 70's. These same fans want a record that measures up to the ones they have been playing for years - AFD, LIES, and the UYI's. It's pretty obvious to all here with a semblence of intelligence that the new line-up and new record will NOT live up to these expectations which in turn will not be giving you and your minority band of Axl-lites the opportunity or pleasure of seeing them eating their words. MmmmKay? :rofl-lol:

  2. Is the world waiting for Axl Rose? No.

Were they waiting for him 20 years ago? No.

Advantage once again goes to Axl Rose if he can produce the music. Nobody knew him 20 years ago. If no one thinks he's around now, then he has the upper hand if he does this right. People keep complaining about the VMA performance, which showcased the new band. So, why are people thinking that no one will know the band has changed, yet, they mention that everyone knows what Axl looks like with the new band? Some of you need to give your heads a shake. If people saw the VMAs, they saw the new band. Anyone who didn't see it, has no idea what Axl is trying to do. Once again, advantage Axl, but only if he does this right.

Some good points here but i'll counter with this. The world WAS waiting for Axl Rose/Guns 'n' Roses twenty years ago, they just didn't know it until he/they hit them like a fucking freight train! rock3

  3. What a complete con! So we now have TV ads in Scandinavia showing the OLD line-up publicising the shows there and a bogus 'surprise line-up' charade going on for the Portugal festival. :anger:

The truth is no one knows who the fuck is gonna be in the band so the promoters are covering their asses and deceiving the fans in doing so. I've never known this happen ever. Tickets on sale for a world renowned rock band with no confirmed line-up. Is this really showing any respect to such a loyal and patient fanbase? :anger:

  4. it took the Eagles 14 years to release a followup Album, so this isn't unprecidented.....

Know your shit before you attempt to go toe ta toe with me old man - The Eagles 'Hell freezes over' to which you are referring is NOT a full studio album and contains only a coupla new songs. Therefore it has no relevance to the Guns 'n' Roses scenario. Mmmkay? :rofl-lol:

and I am going to sadistically enjoy watching you choke on your words

Funny you mention words as yours say nothing and only seem to blow smoke up your own ass. Have you yet added ANYTHING constructive to the debates on this forum backed up with valid facts, argument and logic? MMMmm NOPE - didn't think so. Personally i think you need to stop sucking up to the mods and playing to the crowd of teens that feed your fragile ego and try joining in the debate with logic and reason instead of posting all the pointless drivel and para-phrased quotes. In short... Piss or get off the pot. Mmmmkay? :rofl-lol:

and it IS against forum rules to bash the band....sooooo oh-oh....itchy trigger finger....REPORTED!

WTF. Dude acts like a school kid yet he is forty something... what gives?

On topic - Axl didn't need to BUT he has given himself A LOT to prove... so let's get to WORK Mr Rose. rock3

  5. right...

ok, the Axl Rose / GNR comeback will not be a failure...because its Axl Rose...and not anyone else...

    there's your answer...

you're just bored...with nothing to do...and can't wait for the first show...where everything will be revealed...

patience...as he said...you will be rewarded...

OK, let me get this straight. The comeback will not be a failure only because of Axl Rose?

The same Axl Rose that ruined tours in 1991, 1992, and 2002? The same Axl Rose that has spent 13 years working on an album after pushing/forcing at least 7 musicians out of his band and still hasn't completed it? The same Axl Rose that played the VMA's with his new band to show he was back only to proceed to suck (fail) on his first attempt at a big comeback? The same Axl Rose that shares no updates with all his fans? The same Axl Rose that doesn't communicate with even his current band members? I can see your logic. :rofl-lol:

I don't have any idea why you would so blindly follow someone who doesn't even seem to know where he is going. Hoping he will not fail is one thing, but to believe he won't and base that belief only on the fact that he is the same Axl Rose that has failed and disappointed repeatedly is...well, not too bright.

    Superbly put! rock3

Even the likes of Moby, Dave Navarro and Zakk Wylde have said in Rolling Stome magazine that having worked on or been involved with this fiasco over the past 13 years that Axl has had no clear focus or direction, yet idiots like Axls_Disiilusion, Warchild and the like still follow along like a lil herd of sheep believing that everything is peachy and this is the second coming of Christ! :rofl-lol:

  6. To the author of this thread, did you never hear of Aerosmith and the comeback album PUMP?

Try doing your homework - the comeback album was PERMANENT VACATION!

I'm just worried that a hell of a lot of people on these forums honestly believe that Chinese Democracy is going to be some great event that will redefine not only rock n' roll, but music itself. I'm afraid that a lot of people are letting themselves in for a giant disappointment.

Totally agree. Every band peaks and Guns are no exception. The album will at best be good NOT great. The 'band' will at best be 'still popular' but NOT massive. Their place in rock history is already written, this next chapter is a mere footnote. :book:

  7. The only thing Axl and co have going for them is that the current rock music scene is so dire that they have no direct threat from anyone around right now to put a dent in this comeback bid. In fact there hasn't been a decent movement in music since the Nirvana/Seattle scene of the early 90's and that wil help Axl in his cause IF he can deliver the goods.

However, as the VMA's showed, Rose is no spring chicken now and his new band are just a bunch of nameless, faceless hired hands, so, although i think they will be able to make a short term impact through hype and curiosity alone, in the longer term i believe they will fade like a painting in the sun. This will make the REUNION all the more sweeter though - just ask the Crue. rock3

  8. It all depents on the succes of a new album and single. Some of the sales figures from the 2002 tour:

    November 8th, 2002 - Tacoma, WA @ Tacoma Dome Attendance: 6110 / 17083

    November 11th, 2002 - Boise, ID @ Idaho Center Arena Attendance: 3919 / 6500

    November 17th, 2002 - Moline, IL @ Mark Of The Quad Cities Attendance: 5563 / 10448

    November 21st, 2002 - Auburn Hills, MI @ Palace Of Auburn Hills Attendance: 8857 / 15064

Wow! Great post here, 50 per cent plus empty arenas - and look at my original post to see current sales figures of 'live era' and 'greatest hits'. It's going to be interesting to see what happens come tour time in the US/Canada especially. :book:

  9. The nearest Warchild, Axls_Disillusion and Kaneda will get to the gig is reading Madison's review of it the next day.. :rofl-lol:

warchild said he's gonna be at almost all the gigs, including the NYC one :book:

Of course he is - every single, forty something, pseudo-muso who wears Charlie Manson T-Shirts will be at almost all of the gigs... they'll even be on stage dancing next to Axl! :P:rofl-lol::rofl-lol::P

  10. In contrast to a lot of your other posts, this one makes a lot of sense ;)

Ahem... All my posts make sense if you read them enough times. :P

I don't think that we'll see a sustained large volume sale of Chi Dem and I don't think we'll see a huge stadium/arena tour like the old days.

I agree. It's been so long and things are so different now i just can't see this one running up big figures, unless it's an undeniable masterpiece. Somehow though i just don't think it will be a Dark side of the Moon or a Physical Graffiti or whatever. Even three or four great tracks won't be enough to appease the critics and fans alike enough to make up for the time spent making it.

But really, I'm ok with that. As long as I get Chi Dem and as long as I get tickets to the shows I'm ok. I've LOVE to see them in a smaller venue than a larger venue.

Me too! Arena gigs have the spectacle but little else. Big bands in smaller venues fuckin rock! It would be amazing to see someone with the live presence of Axl Rose so close you could count the pin pricks from his botox injections! (just joking Axl-lites) :P

  11. Who else is going besides that fag Kaneda?

Who ever sees Kanedae start a mosh pit and bounce him around a few times for Warchild.

I would put Warchild and Kaneda both in the same catagory, theyre such attention whores.

The nearest Warchild, Axls_Disillusion and Kaneda will get to the gig is reading Madison's review of it the next day.. :rofl-lol:

  12. For sheer consistency over the past ten years i'd have to say Foo Fighters.

The current music scene really needs a kick up the ass though - where's the next Pistols, Nirvana or (original) Guns n Roses though... someone with balls, attitude and the music - WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEY?

    rock1 rock3 rock1

  13. just curious, this is my first show. should i be there early, so i get a good view. im not sure what time i need to be there

You need to be there the day before with about 500 dollars in your pocket and negotiate with the nearest ticket scalper because thats the only way you'll get a ticket!

Seriously do you guys REALLY believe you're gonna get into this show without some kind of connection? :rofl-lol:

  14. A lot of folk on the board seem to be taking for granted that the nu-Guns will be doing a massive arena tour when the time comes to hit the road. rock3 Although i agree that these upcoming club shows in NYC will easily sell out, it's fair to point out that when the real tour starts in promotion of CD later this year there is no guarantee that G'n'R will be able to perform at the level they did on their previous massive arena tours. A lot of the Euro summer shows are festivals with other bands involved, so these don't really show that Guns are the major draw. So, IF CD sales slow after the initial rush to buy it from the faithful, then the band will surely have to down grade from arenas just like lots of other big bands have over the years.

Remember, this is an act with a bad rep in the US/Canada after the last aborted tour, they've also been away from the big league for some 13 years and of course, the oriiginal guys the older fanbase identified with are no longer involved. This means there are absolutely no guarantees that G'n'R will be as massive as they once were. Perhaps the biggest indicator of their waning fanbase though are US sales figures of the 'live era' and 'greatest hits' which stand at a poultry (in comparison) 312,000 and 2.5 million respectively. So what do YOU think. Can Guns still deliver arena rock to sold out masses or will they have to play smaller venues and accept that the glory days are over? rock1

    You mean paltry.

As far as your post goes, we will just have to wait and see.

Gotta love that edit feature. :rofl-lol: Thanks for paying such close attention 'teach' :P

  16. Consider all the factors 1.these shows are the only confirmed US shows 2.The shows are in the biggest city in the world 3.The seating capacity of the venue is 3700 4.Ticket brokers have programs to hack ticketmaster ,so that probably reduces the amount of availble tickets to 3400. 5. This is going to be the last time you will see GNR in a small place which gives these shows an intamacy that will make these shows something that cannot be missed. Shit there are plenty of other factors too. So the question is how much will ticktes be on Ebay. I think they could go for as much as $300-500. Does anybody think that this is to much and who is willing to part with this type of cash. I know that come hell or high water i will be there even ifi have to sell a kidney.

    1. Richard Fortus has already confirmed there will be a US tour in september, it's only a question of where and when so don't sweat it.

    2. NYC is not the biggest city in the world but i take your point.

    3. correct

    4. Do they? How do you derive this figure??

    5. I doubt it. There will be other club shows this year in London UK and possibly the US too. Count on it.

Although i agree that these shows in NYC will easily sell out there is no guarantee that G'n'R will perform at the level they did on the '92-93 tour. :book:

  17. but theyre just drummers they arent that important :P

    Three points on that:-

    1. Try telling that to Robert Plant and Jimmy Page when John Bonham died.

    2. Quote from Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters) "Drummers are the fucking foundation of a rock band"

    3. Guns n Roses were in limbo when Adler was fired, they were desperate to find a drummer to lay down the drums tracks for UYI 1 and 2 - Sorum stepped in and slammed them down in just over a month. The rest is history...

Know what you're talking about before you diss drummers in rock bands. :fuckyou:

  18. No, myspace is for wannabes

Yeah that's why Soul Asylum has one with TOMMY STINSON on it?

*High 5's* to everyone - War FAG has been fucking OWNED!! NEXTTTT!!!!! :rofl-lol:

Just wait and see who's onstage...IF you can see the fkn stage from your pitiful seats..........

    I will have no problems..........

WTF is he on about is WarChild dreaming of touring arenas now? Umm, getting flustered anyone - You better believe he is! :rofl-lol:

  19. WARCHILD IS A SCREEN NAME GENIUS..............

we are all anonymous here...........and I don't release shitty music!

    Fucking warchild

Just in from ROB ZOMBIE (friend of duff's to stay on topic) :P

    Dear WARCHILD:-

Q: A lot of it has to do with the fact that people have total anonymity online.

Rob Zombie: "Right - that's the whole thing. You can be totally spineless. It always cracks me up when you see someone complaining on a message board all the time, and you get a mental picture of that person. And then they post a picture of themselves and you're like, 'This is the guy telling everybody how it should be done?'"

Q: And of course they live at home with their mom.

Rob Zombie: "Literally. All the Internet stuff is the same silly discussions kids have been having for years, but the only difference is that now it's posted for the whole world to see. [Laughs] It's like, if mom's still calling you for dinner, please don't comment on anything."

Oh YESSSSS!!! WarFag = Pseudo Muso :rofl-lol:

    Tommy who? :book:

  20. warchild doesnt know shit about music.

I'm afraid he does my friend. Sounds like he has been playing guitar for 20 years like me

YEAH, my friend...been around a while.......piano was my first choice but I can play guitar now!!!

had numerous songs copyrighted, and have a little band........do Lead Vocals too!!

These Kids don't have a fucking clue what goes into finished music!!!

    KUDOS!

    that dammned warchild

I've never heard a song by Warchild, so this isn't directed at you, but there is some pretty shitty songs that have been put onto albums, much less merely copyrighted.

Congrats on your successes - continued good luck and skill to you, but they don't do anything to establish your musical knowledge. How about downloading some of it so we can judge your talents for ourselves???

WARCHILD IS A SCREEN NAME GENIUS..............

we are all anonymous here...........and I don't release shitty music!

IF you have never heard of the replacements.....Do Yourself a favor and buy one of their CD's.......

and HELL NO, I'm not uploading SHIT.........crazy, but not THAT crazy......I'll let you know when and where

    .......release is gonna happen!!

    Fucking warchild

LMFAO listen to this wannabe - where's your fucking songs man? where's your MySpace page?

Wheres your gig dates? publishing deal? Piss or get off the pot War Fag! You're a psuedo-muso. END OF STORY!! :rofl-lol:

Hmmm - He spends so much time in the studio yet he's on here raggin on teens 24/7 and spouting dumbass quotes rejected by the Beavis and Butthead script writers? MMMyeahh

I smell - BSSSSSSSSSSSS - it smells like WAR Fagggggg!!!!

Anyways back on topic - yah Duff is the man... 40 MILLION reasons why and counting rock3

  21. look Ratfuck suitcase.....don't down T.S. in a far fetched effort to promote Mr. Spineless........

If you are going by Billboard record sales, go jack off to a picture of Britney, and leave the REAL

    musicianship up to other people...........

    Are YOU a Musician????? Hmmmmmm????

    that goddamned warchild

Ah yes - WarFag one of the types Rob Zombie talked about

"ding ding" War Fag - your mom just rang the dinner bell. :rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

  22. Duff---the most overated bass player i ever heard---and yes Tommy runs circles around him as far as skill

Not overrated because he himself states that he plays 'in the pocket', which is the perfect way to play for Guns and any true rockin band. You obviously don't know that Duff is actually a GUITAR player who realised that he would have to switch to bass when he moved to LA in order to even get in a band as the place was awash with wannabe guitarists. Smart move in hindsight. Besides this he's playing GUITAR alongside Jerry Cantrell in AIC this summer and that in itself proves the playing worth of the man. You cocksuckers really don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about on here. :anger: Try watching Duff command the stage in the intro to 'it's so easy' on old G'n'R live footage and opening the show for VR with his Suckertrain Blues intro. The guys a fucking living legend while Tommy Stinson is shit on my shoe in comparison. :fuckyou:

You don't know S*&T --- If you watch the old boots Duff is constantly fucking up and playing wrong notes. Want an example-- listen to the intro of Sweet Child from Paris 92. He fucks up the song so bad-- a song he has played hundreds of times at that point of time. I have been listening to him for over 15 years and he is an average at best bass and guitar player. And yes I know all about his shitty guitar playing. By far the weakest link of old GNR IMHO. I do think he is cool and like him as a person though

Knock Knock - here's the news. Any bass player that can boast 40 MILLION plus album sales in the US alone and has the level of adulation from the fans and respect from his peers the way Duff does is frankly way above the criticsm of some net forum dweeb/s nitpicking over some sloppy playing aided by drink and drug abuse, as is well documented. I'll take Duff's resume, songwriting credits and bank balance over Tommy fucking Stinson's any day of the week! If you want note perfect, scientific bass playing go listen to Jacko Pastorius and leave the rock n roll to those who understand it, bum notes and all! Duff IS rock 'n' roll. rock3

  23. edit: If I get in, I'll bootleg. Hopefully security isn't that tight and they don't check everywhere for cameras.

Unless there is female security... ;) It happens sometimes.

Exactly. Some venues are more strict than others. I went to a concert last year and all the security guy did was wink at me. I could have been carrying a hand grenade. I'm thinking it might be tight here just because we know how Axl is about cameras.

That's actually quite worrying considering the terrorism threat and the Dimebag darrell shooting!

All this talk of bootlegging is interesting - the last time Axl toured there weren't many cam phones around but now i can imagine a sea of them in front of Axl at every show. Would he go so far as to BAN all cell/mobile phones from Guns show? I wouldn't put it past him!
