  1. :rofl-lol:

Tommy is a true gunner rock3 I hope he stays in the band forever.

Sorry, but he is out rock3

wrong. dont make up unfounded rumors noob. if you dont like Tommy in the band, well theres the fuckin door :monkey:

    bye!

Holy shit A_D is throwing fits and firing people now? - dude really THINKS he's AXL!! Where are the men in the white coats? :rofl-lol:

Tommy's just like all the other new members - totally mercenary and totally replaceable. :P

  2. And his solos on Shadow Of Your Love and My Way Your Way are absolutely dreadful too. Plus they have absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the song!

Ah SHADOW of your LOVE what a kick ass song that is!! rock3

Like Alan Niveen said, Tracii GUNS n Axl ROSE'S would be a huge selling point! This would bring back the faithful in droves. Fuckin' A, bring it ONNNNNNnnnnnnnn!!!!!!! rock1

  3. The man, the myth, the legend. Rockin Robin Finck rock2 rock3 :xmasssanta: :shades:

Yeah, that's why AXL is actively looking for another guitarist, because he knows Finck can't handle the job. End of Story! :fuckyou:

Robin Finck-ter - the queer, the nobody, the hired hand who Axl knows can't deliver on his own! :rofl-lol:

  4. Whatever your thoughts on Tracii the fact remains that he is a founder member of the group that still bears his name. There are few that could step into the void left by Slash and deliver the goods. Zakk Wylde comes to mind, as does Dave Navarro and yep, good old Tracii Guns. He looks the part, has the history and knowledge and most importantly he can play. Robin Finck-ter should take his goth schlock ass and go join Marilyn Manson or Good Charlotte instead and leave the real lead guitar duties to those that can handle it! rock1

  5. I'll take Nightrain with the new band (+Buckethead) over the old band... that's how much I respect Buckethead's work on that song. Hopefully Axl & Co. can dig up another virtuoso to play alongside Robin...

HAHAhahaha WTF :anger: - that's the most fucked up comment yet on this board. Nightrain is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songs ever recorded and Slash n Izzy fucking wailed on it both in the studio and live. I piss on Buckethead, his brutal gimmicks and his widdly widlly scientific guitar schlock. Buddy, go jerk off to your Vai and Malmsteen discs and leave the REAL rock n roll to those that understand and appreciate it. Prefer the new band's version!!!!!! ROFL what a douche :fuckyou:

  6. Dizzy himself said SLASH IS NOT COMING BACK. I just get really irritated that a month ago everyone was all over these leaks and it looked really good for the band, and now half the threads in this section are about Slash

FUCK Dizzy, he's just a bit part player and always has been. He knows nothing and has no clout in the band whatsoever. If he left tomorrow no one but you would even care!

Who cares if you get irritated. Your constant bashing of one of the all-time guitar greats is even more irritating and proves that you are a cupcake who has no respect for the accomplishments of G'n'R and their ultimate, irreplaceable lead guitarist - Mr Saul Hudson. Remember this, when u are watching Finck-ter (or whoever it maybe) mimic or butcher Slash's creations live that 80 per cent of the songs u are listening to are glorified karaoke versions that can never live up too, let alone surpass the originals from which they are taken from. Your support of an UNCONFIRMED line-up with NO RELEASED product over the original G'n'R everyone identifies with is laughable, as are you! :fuckyou:

  7. n00bs get ready for a bashing from axls dillusions

Fuck Axls_Disillusion, noobie fans like him who diss the original line-up, and Slash in particular, after only discovering the band some 5 years ago are NOT true fans of Guns 'n' Roses. This is a band with a history and a legacy people still want to hear, and seeing as the latest version of the band has NO new product or NO confirmed line-up as yet it's a totally redundant argument to diss Slash, the back catalogue or former members that could still rejoin at any moment in time. :fuckyou:

Slash and Axl are the iconic figures of the band - every killer rock band is represented and recognised by a legendary singer/guitarist tandom ie: Jagger/Richards, Tyler/Perry, Plant/Page, Hetfield/Hammett and yep... Axl/Slash. rock3. The rumors and speculation are so great for an Axl/Slash reunion that this is obviously what most fans want and that is why it will happen. Maybe not today, tomorrow or next month - but it WILL happen. rock1

  8. Im not a newb but here is my newb response.

Slash will tour with GNR Izzy is on the new cd . I know i sound like a retard but i think Slash rejoined in januray only Izzy and Axl and the new gnr know that. He has done all the rerecordings at axl's house and the cd is being mixed in new york now. so let my fellow Gunners bash me now !

So, what makes you think Slash and Izzy are back onboard? Do you have sources or is this just idol speculation?? :book:

  9. I think you all are underestimating what the majority of fans want and that is the OLD songs! People don't go to see the likes of the Rolling Stones, Motley Crue and Metallica to hear new stuff as their current set lists prove, and the same applies to Guns 'n' Roses. Even if CD is released prior to the Euro shows songs from it will account for the minority of the set. The only question that really matters is can these new guys deliver the goods like the original band did, and we all know the answer to that... NO FUCKING WAY! :fuckyou:

I don't think the majority of fans want the old songs. Sure the old songs are great but I think the majority of hard core fans are past ready for new material and would feel insulted (further) to have a tour without the CD drop first. Les hardcore fans probably just don't care anymore and it would take new material on the radio to get their attention again.

    :fuckyou:

Rolling Stones release a Bigger Bang in 2005

Motley Crue released Generation Swine in 1998 and New Tattoo in 2001 and some new tracks on Red White and Crue in 2005

Metallica released ST Anger in 2003 and the current tour is escape from the Studio which sounds like that they need to get on the road and tour

But all of the above have toured on new material

If you read the post properly I actually said that fans primarily go to see these types of classic rock band to hear the old classics and the SET LISTS of their shows prove this. Go check them out on relevant web sites and see how many songs from recent releases are included in their live sets. It's one or two recent songs from each at a maximum - i believe Metallica are currently playing a massive amount of Cliff Burton era songs and only one tune from St Anger in their whole set! Therefore G 'n' R will be expected to do the same and Axl knows this. Too bad the newbie fans don't, because if you think you're going to hear more than 2 or 3 new songs then you'll likely be disappointed. But then again, G'n'R fans are used to being let down time and again over the last decade so what can ya do! :rofl-lol:

  10. I think you all are underestimating what the majority of fans want and that is the OLD songs! 11. if it is a secret gig (and i use IF) then maybe it is for VIP guests only i woundr if slash and duff are invited :rofl-lol:

    rock on rock3

Slash tried to attend a GNR show in Las Vegas, but Axl's people banned him. That wasn't cool.

You know what wasn't cool? Trying to make a spectacle of yourself when Axl was unveiling the new lineup for the first time! That was their night. Do you seroiusly think $lash would have just blended in with the crowd?

WTF?? :anger: Once again this cupcake who it seems only got into the band in 2002 (LOL) disses one of the original band members yet calls himself a G'n'R fan!

Slash had every right to attend the gig as a member of the public. Obviously Axl was very insecure/paranoid about the new line-up otherwise he wouldn't have instructed his goons to keep Mr Hudson out. He knows and we know that they can never live up to the seminal 5, especially when the set list is primarily stuff that Slash co-wrote and played on. rock1

  12. id bet money on this happening :book:

Me too, it's a common occurence for big bands to play small secret/warm-up gigs in London. The Astoria and Brixton Academy are usually the venues used for this.

The new Guns may not even be able to sell out arenas like the original band did, it all depends on record sales and fan interest. Notice that they are playing A LOT of multi-band festivals in Europe to test the waters first. Personally i think they'd be better in smaller venues as the current line-up (whoever it is this month) is unproven and haven't even had the chance to learn their trade before stepping on to the BIG STAGE! rock3

  13. why is this in the gnr section?

Why are YOU in the G'n'R section? All you do is hang around the forum like a bad smell and shit talk about the founding members of the band! :fuckyou:

Slash should rejoin Guns and do VR as a side project. After all, there's plenty of time in between albums. :rofl-lol:

  14. No, it wasn't the fake Spin review, I brought that up to here, this writer is a freelance music journalist that has contributed to SPIN, but he wasn't covering for SPIN when he heard Chinese D. I really wouldn't make this up.

HAHA! Having worked in media, i can assure you there is NO WAY on earth advance copies of CD would be given out to a freelance journalist who can't even guarantee who he is writing for, especially in this day and age of internet/music piracy. Only key figures such as the Editor of Rolling Stone and a few other key media outlets would even be allowed to hear it and even then, each copy would have to be couriered, signed and accounted for and then leant out for a short time only before going back to the record company. Alternatively, a few lucky people in major cities would be invited to a personal, invite only listening party and that would be it. I promise you this is how it works. Keep on rockin' in the free world! rock1

  15. There are times when he is going to sound like his former self, sure, that's inevitable. And in the studio, he can do god knows what to make himself sound however he likes.

Listen to a full show, he is not the same singer and is not as good of a singer.

It was never about Axl being a great singer. In terms of vocal ability he cannot be ranked alongside the likes of Robert Plant, Mike Patton, Chris Cornell or Layne Staley. But as a frontman, Axl is one of the all-time greats. It sure will be interesting to hear what he sounds like live though - i personally believe the charisma, presence and intensity will still be there, but the actual voice will not be too clever. <_<

  16. Hmm interesting thread this. I think what really needs to be said is this. In the big picture, every band has it's day and although some of us (idiots?) have lived in hope for over ten years plus that G'n'R are still relevant, the truth is they sadly no longer are. If CD never gets released and the new band never plays live. or indeed if the old guys don't reunite either, does it really matter anymore? Every band peaks and evry band eventually needs to call it quits. Isn't that the case with Guns 'n' Roses? Do we REALLY need this fucked up situation to continue or is it better to remember the good times and just move on... rock1

  17. Woodland Ranch Recorders, Woodland Hills, CA: Mid 2004 - Present

Are you sure he is still doing it there?

I am five minutes from that Studio and so far it was used recently for other Recordings (Madrid Theathre).

But I guess if you say so than.

That was News to me to even read that.

Well there may be more than one studio there. Same as village recorders have about 4 or 5 studio's of various size's.

    As for producers:

    Producers:

Mike Clink: Pre-Moby (Worked on the GnRNext lp it wasn't named chinese democracy nor was it the "new" line up)

    Moby: 1997

    The Youth: 1998

    Dave Dominguez (Producer & Engineer) : 1998

Beavan (Producer) and Critter (Engineer) : Late 1998-Early 2000

Billy Howerdel (Computer Engineer): Early 2000

Roy Thomas Baker (Producer) Early 2000-Early 2002

Axl Rose (Producer) and Eric Caudieux (Early 2002-Early 2004)

Axl Rose (Producer) and Curt Cuomo (Assisting) : (Mid 2004 -->)

Mike Clink was got rid of fairly early into sessions for the new album, Then with the "new" line up moby went in and got a great instrumental album layed down. When he started pushing axl to do the vocals, he was fired.

Dunno what the youth or Dominguez did or for how long they were involved.

Beavan moved the band towards that wierd industrial sound they attained. Oh my God i think was produced by him

Roy Thomas Baker brought the band back towards stadium rock again away from the industrial stuff.

Thats just a general guide to what the producers did. From what i know most of the album will be post Roy Thomas Baker (2002), so Axl will be listed as the producer with Eric Caudieux and Cuomo as assistants.

Now lets hear the damn thing :P

Wow! Great post. very informative and it builds up a credible picture of why this project has taken so long. It would appear then, rather than CD being an ongoing work that the various efforts have invariably been scrapped along with each producer that has come and gone up to the Roy Thomas Baker efforts. It may be worth bearing in mind that the majority of the UYI's were banged out in a relatively short amount of time once Sorum joined and stability was restored. This soap opera has dragged on long enough, it's now or never for Axl now!

  18. Axl - vocals

    Slash - lead guitar

    Finck - 2nd lead guitar

Fortus - rhythm guitar (Izzy probably wouldn't want to join anyway)

    Duff - bass

Brain - drums (Matt rejoins The Cult...though I'm not sure if that position is still open...or maybe Matt even comes back)

    Reed/Pittman

I agree with this line-up but why would you need two lead guitarists? Slash is more than capable on his own, with Fortus on rhythm. After all, he wrote all of the relevant guitar parts for the pre CD songs in the first place.

And WTF -Stinson has now left to join Soul Asylum? It just goes from bad to worse.

  19. Back to reality morons!..........LMAOF....... :rofl-lol:

I cant wait for Slash playing on "Better"......

The fact that YOU think Slash can't learn or play great guitar on ANY song thrown at him shows how little you really know about music. Guys at his level ie: iconic guitar legend, practice up to 8 hours a day every day. That's why they are multi-millionaire superstars at the very peak of their profession.

PS. Nice pictures of Buckethead. Who does he play with again? :rofl-lol:
