  1. Supposedly GN'R content is being pulled off youtube. Mostly old stuff. So yes, it concerns him.

WTF. I suppose I have to download some stuff off Tube

soon before someone is going to jarmo up everything...

Jarmo up everything!!! Fucking love it. Hahahahahahahahaha

  2. Everyone vs. Sunny

This thread is gold! PURE GOLD ME SAY! pirate.gif

I used to be a regular there until jarmo thought he became friends with the band. Now I just cupcake around just to see what's doing.

Bit off topic. What Don Henley song did Axl guest on?

Oh and why would anyone here care about or even visits Jarmo's pighole?

  3. Hand of doom- Black Sabbath

    Star- Nazareth

    Halo of Flies- Alice Cooper

One of the boys- Roae Tattoo

    Marseilles- The Angels

Beethoven's Cunt- Setj Tankian (System are on before GN'R in rio and I would love to hear Axl N' Serj duo on a sing or two)

I don't think any of these songs will be covered by Guns N' Roses ever but it would be cool.

  4. I find it funny how this is true yet Axl still gets mad at the soundboard guy all the time... even though he must know his voice would be hard to prepare for and he never goes to sound-check..

I don't think he gets mad at the FOH soundtech, I think he's mad at the side of stage tech who is in control of the foldbacks.

  5. Axl's mic technique was one (big) reason Live Era was such a nightmare and had to be pieced together like a puzzle.

Well, I never got the chance to see GN'R pre 1993 so I wouldn't know but from the videos and live boots I've seen n heard, his technique hasn't seemed to change and it's pretty awesome now.

  6. Isn't there a way to apply compression to the mic so the quiet sounds are boosted and the louder sounds are made quiter? I am not a sound guy so I don't know if there is a way to do that or not. Either way Axl could just point the mic farther away when he is loud and pulls it back towards him when he wants to sing in his lower register and leave the rest to the sound guys

That's what I mean by Axl's mic technique. He knows where to hold it when singing at different levels. Because there is so much going on in a GN'R show, sound wise, it would be pretty helpful to have a sound check each show to set the levels. As we all know, Axl doesn't really do soundcheck which is why (if anyone else has noticed) the first few songs of some shows are a little ordinary especially the levels on the vocals.

  7. Yes but not because if the ways you've described. He has really excellent mic technique where he can somewhat control the volume. For the foldback/monitor sound techs he would be pretty hard, I think. Getting the levels in the monitors right for a singer can be a little frustrating, especially for a show like GN'R.

  8. i think Baz is fucking awesome - a bit hyperactive, but that's what makes him such a good entertainer.

fuck you to the haters. and to the guy who claims to be backstage and thinks he understands Baz's and Axl's relationship - you're an idiot.

I don't claim to know anything. But I can tell you what I saw. Fuckwit

  9. I find Sebastian in no way, shape or form annoying,

especially on Eddie Trunk's show in May of 06.

Eh, he kinda was. Kinda kiss-assy I thought

Not to mention he over-exaggerates everything.

During the 07 tour, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a few parties with the band after the shows. Nearly every time I saw Axl, I would see Baz trying to impress him by asking him if he wanted things and shit like that. He was like a puppy, craving attention. He tried having a shot at me and Pitman over something fucking stupid, and he said it loud enough so Axl could hear. Long story short, he apologised and we had a beer together while Axl didn't really care the slightest.

Baz suffers from a bit of foot on mouth syndrome and seems to constantly need Axl's approval. He's a nice enough bloke, though.

  10. 1 vote for Bill Ward and 10 for Lars?? That is pretty comical....

    Tell me about it!

Lars was a decent drummer and is still not half bad but Bill Ward, Vinnie Paul, Neil Peart??? People don't know a good drummer. With Steven over Matt in the GN'R drummer section just reconfirms people don't know drums.

  11. When I saw GnR in Sydney a few years ago, Rose Tattoo opened. GnR was due to hit the stage at 10pm. It wasn't until 11:30pm that they ended up coming on. It was a Monday night, so a lot of people had to leave the show halfway through the set.. Pretty irritating!

Apparently the show before that was in Melbourne, and while the support act was playing, Axl was still on the tarmac in Brisbane..

It seems like a common occurance. Has anybody else experienced the poor punctuality of Axl?

It was the Brisbane show, you're thinking of. Guns didn't arrive on stage until 12.30ish. The rumour was Axl was still in Melbourne as Tats N' Baz were playing.

I was at that show, it didn't bother me. I mean, you can sit there and whinge all you want about the band being late, or you could listen to the awesome tunes they played over the PA and have bourbon.

I've been to 9 GN'R shows. They were late to all besides Adelaide 2007 and Sydney 2010. As long as they hit the stage I was not concerned at all.

  12. So, when did it become "Axl's band"? After Steven was sacked? After Izzy left? After Gilby was sacked? After Slash left? After Matt was sacked? After Duff left?

This whole "Axl's band" thing is so fucking lame.

    AC/DC are still AC/DC

    Metallica are still Metallica

    Sepultura are still Sepultura

Why are Guns N' Roses now Axl's Band?

Axl is the only one left and none of the people in his band are anything more than simple hired hands, you have to be incredibly ignorant not to see that. And ACDC and Metallica are terrible examples to help your argument because they have had the same core for at least 25 years and several albums.

The likes of Tommy and Chris have been in GN'R longer than Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, Matt or Gilby ever were.

Metallica, AC/DC, Sepultura, Alice Cooper have all had numerous line up changes but nobody seems to mind. However, when Guns do it it's a massive fucking problem. I love all the versions of all the bands I have just mentioned and I have stuck by each of those bands through these changes. I just don't see why it's such a big deal.

We're all forgetting Deep Purple and Kiss as examples

    Very, Very, Very True.

It shits me that people bag GN'R because of line up changes. Every other band that does it doesn't have anything to answer for, but GN'R constantly have to defoend themselves as a band, and I have no idea why.

Alice Cooper is only about Alice Cooper, just like solo Ozzy. Sure you like some of the other guys hes with, but its a solo act and you know people will come and go. Metallica only replaced its bassists, only because of Cliff passing away. Had he lived they would have stayed original all the way. Besides, its only one position being replaced twice. How many times has that happened in Guns? Every spot multiple times, its no comparison.

Alice Cooper started as the name of the band. The band was known as Alice Cooper. When they split in the 70's Alice took the name as his own and created a somewhat different on stage persona. No one has ever had a problem with that. I don't have any issues with that. The only band I have come to dislike since a lineup change was Sepultura. Not because of the lack of the Cavalera's but because the sound had changed a fair bit and I didn't really dig Derrick's vocals.

Even though GN'R still sound great and have some really talented player in that band, they cop so much shit just because......... Well, just because.

Metallica have had 4 line up changes throughout their career. Ron was replaced by Cliff, Dave was replaced by Kirk, Cliff was replaced by Jason and Jason was replaced by Rob.

Anthrax and Megadeath are another 2 examples for ya.
