  1. Abbey Road was released in 1969 mate, which was arguably was their best album.

Let It Be was released in 1970.

You clearly know jackshit about The Beatles. Let It Be was recorded before Abbey Road.

it was released after Abbey Road you horrendous retard.

abbey road was recorded after but released before let it be... what is so hard to understand about that?

  2. Buckethead's entire discography

really? he has a ton of great material and some really really great and complete albums, but too man are just not cohesive enough and there are definitely some songs that just don't have much if any merit

    badmotorfinger and superunkown - soundgarden

    dirt - alice in chains

abbey road and sgt pepper - beatles

i would say revolver too, but yellow submarine drives me crazy

    also...

houses of the holy - zep

    ride the lightning - metallica

what's the story morning glory - oasis (might get bashed for that one)

great southern trendkill and cowboys from hell - pantera

there have to be more, but that's just off the top of my head

  3. i actually like a little piece of heaven better... but i think that's just cause it's so over the top.

this is def. one of the heavier songs on the album and the solo is absolutely insane.

  4. gene simmons is a hack.

they put on a great show, but gene simmons is by no means anything more than average. and his live tone sucks balls.

you want good bass? listen to jaco pastorious.

    good rock bass? billy sheehan.

good rock bass that doesn't shred your balls off? tom hamilton or duff

he's not Stu Hamm or Billy Sheehan but he is a very solid rock n' roll bass player, and not a hack. he's very much in the mold of Paul McCartney with his use of active, melodic lines.

i do agree about his tone being odd. it's very mid-rangy and doesn't have any "boom" to it.

to your list of really good bass players, i'd add John Taylor of Duran Duran. seriously.

how i didn't mention paul mccartney is beyond me lol... but gene is no paul.

    Duran Duran rocks!

  6. Plus decking Tommy Lee can never be wrong.

Unless you're Kid Rock and you make Tommy Lee look like John Lennon.

    :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

i like kid rock... that song was ok - i'd wanna hear some more before i spent any money on it though...

  7. i posted a topic like this about a year ago i think. they're unbelievable live! you'll have a blast - howard sounds amazing and mike and adam are so freaking good. they're def. one of my favorite bands. can't wait to see em live again.

  8. You can't really find a more crappy band than Winger.

says the guy who's username is a nirvana song

Well, you blew it. No matter what you say, we can't take you seriously.

haha what i was getting at was that a guy who obviously loves nirvana isn't going to like winger, no matter what goes on in this thread... i can't believe i'm replying in this topic like 6 months after it was created!

  9. I fucking love killswitch engage! and only in the last year and a half or so,they are the only screamo band I like because they have great singing in there too. I hate screamo bands with the exeption of killswitch, and I didnt like there first album with Jesse,Howard jones has really got a great range on vocals and I feel much improved the Band upon his arrival. The guitarist Adam has a great voice too.I saw them at the download festival this year (minus Adam unfortunately) and they were excellent.Anyone else like e'm or am I on my own?? Just curios.

love em... but i would never call em 'screamo'

they don't sound anything like bands like that. maybe 'metalcore' is a better way of describing it.

saw em in december, they rocked my balls off

  10. And Howard Stern is talented? You crack me up.

Yes he is, but that was not the point of my post.

But keep kissing Justin Timberlakes ass, if it makes you feel better.

completely off topic and irrelevant, but howie's a hack. he was revolutionary back in the day, but if you wanna hear some good radio listen to opie and anthony on FM, then switch over to XM

  11. I LOVE his cover of Black Hole Sun. Glad you had an awesome time!

Me too, its such a great song to begin with but I love the way he plays the melody with the wah and sings the last chorus through the talk box. I was worried he wouldnt play it but he did and it was insane, great cover.

i just saw him a week or 2 ago - great show and black hole sun was pretty sick. the album version (frampton's, that is - no one can touch soundgarden) is good, but it was much cooler live

  12. you'll probably be horribly dissappointed with the white album lol :)

i would say get rubber soul and revolver at the same time. that's a good way to see the transition from pop band to legend. rubber soul has a strong pop element, but it's very apparent they were moving in another direction; revolver continues that.

then do the same for let it be and abbey road - those albums are just so amazingly beautiful and complex it'll take you months to get your head around them.

those 4 albums are amazing. sgt. pepper is what really got me into the beatles, too, btw. there's so much stuff to hear - i strongly suggest you go out and get a book about one or all of them it'll probably make you want to hear more and it'll help you listen for certain things.

then get the white album and take it with a grain of salt - there's a lot of good music in there, but there's an awful lot of shit as well. it's ridiculously overrated IMO, though the good songs are amazing.

  13. right now i'm on a 'great southern trendkill' binge. it's just so brutal. you can't deny it. though if this poll were taken any other time, i'd probably go with CFH or FBD - both albums are just pure genius.

  14. You can't really find a more crappy band than Winger.

says the guy who's username is a nirvana song

winger fucking rocks. reb beech is an outstanding guitar player. unfortunately beavis and butthead (and kips lameness) killed them. the first album is one of the best "glam" albums around. they're on a reunion tour with the original lineup. i had to miss em when they were playing in NY, which i am still bummed about.

    she's only seventeeeeeen (seventeen) rock3

  15. his drinking was really that bad. i've read so many books on the guy. he was mostly into hallucinogens, which don't take much of a toll on the body (at least compared to coke and heroin), but jim fucking draaaaank. i dunno about that supposed last picture, i didn't think he put on that much weight. wow this post is just full of italics.

edit: but the pic does look like him, i just dunno...
