I'm sure the will just ask about Tommy Hilfiger again anyway.
-
Who took that picture of Steven, and what is the point of it?
-
Ok, but he isnt Axl Rose.
When someone covers a song, they dont have to sing it exactly the same way as the original.
It was a good to listen to an acoustic version of civil war.
I liked it.
I know.... BUT, the parts where Axl sings "my hands are tied" and "I don't need your civil war" are what makes the song. It would be different had they tried to cover a song like Yesterdays or something where Axl sings in the same tone and voice throughtout the entire song, but when you choose a song like Civil War, you better be able to wail in the parts that need it.

Nope, it sucks. I'll tell you why. As soon as I heard him sing the "my hands are tied" part and realized he's singing it like the rest of the song, it ruined it. Axl sings in two different voices in the real song, and thats what MAKES THAT SONG. There is tremendous passion that comes through the song when he sings the parts that are higher.

Can you guys just IMAGINE what would have happened had Tommy Hilfiger tried this shit with Axl say, back around 1991? He would have gotten his ass smeared across the bar by Axl and his body guards. But Axl is in his 40's now, he's grown past that. Tommy Hilfiger is older and obviously is a complete tool. Fuck him and fuck his shitty clothes.

Whats with the lyrics on the screen in the background?
-
It's pretty much a given that when the damn thing finally comes out, it will sell at least a million copies fairly quick, then probably slow down a bit but keep selling consistently.
-
Because Axl got tired of hiding in his mansion and decided to get out of the house.
-
Like it or not, Axl *must* have a thing for Kid Rock to allow him to come up on the stage with him.

I LOL'ed at Axl's facial expression. almost like he's rolling his eyes just chilling there with his hand in his pocket. haha.

Someone mentioned all the UYI "filler" songs. Here's what I think they are:
I:
Perfect Crime, Double Talkin Jive, Bad Apples, Garden of Eden
II:
So Fine, My World

It's real. I know Axl's voice like the back of my hand. it's him
-
For what purpose though? Unless you meant it as a way for them to gauge fan reaction to the new material?

I'm curious, when you guys say "rasp" - what song from any of the studio albums is a good example of it? I'm guessing the way Axl sings November Rain?

I can't add much to Kaneda's post, as I was not there last night so I have no idea how good/bad it was.
I can say this: I AM JUST GLAD THEY ARE PLAYING. It's really that simple. I'm glad Axl is getting out there and doing his thing, regardless of who the backing band for him is....

20+ pages.

Like someone said before, this is the most excited I've ever been about a concert I'm not going to.
I guess I just like knowing where Axl is for once. He's sitting somewhere in a hotel or backstage in NYC getting ready....
Post setlist ASAP guys, we need to know!

There is a certain age group in the media that wants GNR to go away. I've accepted that and just don't pay attention to it.
-
My friend and I won tickets for the GNR show in Philly in 2002, only to have it cancelled. But I have a question, what was the real reason Axl didn't show up? Anyone know?

Maybe i should call the hammerstein tommorow and ask for confirmation....

We love Axl Rose because we recognize something like Axl in ourselves.
Axl has changed many lives - I know of no such songwriter who could move the masses in the way he could.

I'd imagine Axl is a hardcore liberal. At least he was at some point. I remember Rush Limbaugh bashing him for no reason about 15 years ago when he had that short lived TV show, and Rush only does that to liberals.

CD listed for Fall release on random site based on Axl's comment

I won't believe it until I'm holding the album in my hands standing in the checkout line.
I just don't think it's ever gonna happen. I hope I'm wrong....
