I saw them in 1992 and Ive been waiting 14 years for this so it makes sense!

I went to the show Sunday night where they played very few "New" songs. Although I thought the production of the show was very very untogether I know it was one of thier first shows and chances are they will sort it out. One guy almost got blasted by pyro the first night and the night I saw the guitar players were all over each other. Regardless I love this band and I am not a "hater".

My wife however had this interesting observation...She didn't understand why she was watching a "Cover band" play old G n R songs and in all due seriousness they still look like the friggin Village People. There's the one guy singing with about a million dollars in diamonds on, The Punk rock guy dressed in plaid, The keyboard player with dreadlocks down to his ass with his shirt off, One guitar player looks like a confederate soldier and now there is a "Bumblefoot" in the band..must I go on? I read in this forum where people are talking about the fact that this band "Finally got thier look together"? This band???? That's together? Ahhhhhhh OK.

The best stuff they played the other night was the new stuff hands down.

Well my trip certainly wasn't cheap!

Me and a pal of mine got flights from Newcastle via ryanair for £256.00, and the hotel room(twin) was £87.00, and with the standing tickets hasn't been kind to my bank balance, arr well, its Guns N' Roses, its worth it!!

Any announcement I would imagine would be after Download. I imagine the festival organisers made GN'R not announce their own dates as it would affect any ppl thinking of buying tix for the festival.

So about 4 weeks or so I think till anything is made public

Download boasts them as the only festival/thing in England that Gn'R are playing in.

Yeah.. at the time it was.

And thus they'll wanna keep it that way until after Download, to get maximum capacity, and max tickets sold.

I doubt very much GnR managment promised the Download organizers that it would be there only England gig. People will buy tickets anyway regardless. The UK love festivals.

Chances are the tour will be promoted by Clear Channel the same promoters for Download. Standard procedure is that any tour is not annouced until close to/after a festival with that band in to ensure maximum sales for the festival where $$$$$s are at stake. The rest of the download bill is not particually strong imo so they will need to milk this exclusive as long as poss.

Just because he likes to party doesnt mean his voice is going to fuck up.. yeah it might.. but it might still happen if he puts his pyjamas on at a decent time.. at the end of the day.. GnR is rock n roll and thats the way Axl lives his life sometimes. At least hes not a fucking liar and just does it for show. Also he cant stop enjoying himself in fear of losing his voice..

I can only assume you're either extremely young or extremely naive or - more likely - a combination of both.

If a person has throat problems - and knows they will need their voice for a series of shows that will make or break their long-awaited rock comeback - it's just short-sighted if you don't make your throat the priority - before partying with pals. Axl even admitted it took Baz (who happens to know a LOT about vocals, vocal training, and caring for your throat) to get him help with his throat.

And hon, it doesn't take Einstein to figure out that drinking, smoking and sitting in smoke-filled rooms talking with new and old friends over loud music on little sleep - isn't going to help your throat problems go away.

this is going t o be a fucking huge tour and a major part of his life and he will make sure he has a ball doing it! ..

Actually, it will be a pretty short tour if the throat problems persist or get worse - and he can't sing.

I heard he had troubles last night, and that he himself even mentioned that he lost his voice the other day.

I think we all can agree on how great he sounded on the 12th of may show, it really sounded like the Axl of old. But all the theories of why he sounded like he did in 01/02 seems to come to place. He protects it, realizing he will blow out his voice otherwise.

I listened to a few clips from last nights show of The Blues and Better. Blues sounded good but Better were weak compared to the previous show.

If Axl voice is in trouble already during "warm up shows" then it´s a bad sign for the whole european tour.

Meaningless post I know but...I cross my fingers...

I share similar concerns.

During the show, Axl said he blew his voice out during Friday's show and that Baz lined him up with a throat specialist to fix it. I have to admit this is a concern if this is happening after only one performance. And - even more disturbing - is that he'd be out partying both Friday and Saturday night instead of resting his voice. ... I have to say this isn't a good sign for the future. But I guess time will tell.
