  1. it's not about how interviews work. it's about what the guns n roses fans want to know.

    so, let's get this straight.

axl (rightfully) is criticized for two decades for not doing proper TV interviews. people (including myself) accuse him of being too surrounded by yes-men to put him in a situation to be interviewed by a leno, letterman, or kimmel.

then, after 23 years, he does an interview on kimmel to promote his new live show. he gives credit (finally) to all his band members, including people like stinson, who have been there longer than the original members.

and you get on here and complain that he isn't addressing the gn'r fans' concerns. even though this interview was arranged to appeal to a general audience; an audience who hadn't seen axl interviewed in 23 years.

excuse me if i politely tell you to fuck off?

it's not about what you're bringing up. because the guns n roses don't want to talk about that stuff. the guns n roses fans want to talk about CD2. they want to know from axl rose when CD2 is finally coming out. how hard is it for jimmy kimmel to ask axl the questions guns n roses fans want to know from axl rose?

seriously mate, if you can't even come back with a logical response, why bother?

i already outlined why this interview wasn't for 'the gn'r fans,' and yet, at the same time, it was for the real fans. it's not about selling a nonexistent album, but it represents a lot for us who have been hanging in here for a decade waiting for him to do something cool like this. your pessimistic reply is probably in the top 10 of the most desperate, illogical, and stupid responses i've ever gotten to any refutation here - ever. and seriously, that's saying a lot. so perhaps you should re-evaluate yourself. you could have at least gotten creative with it if you were that intent on trolling.

CD2 isn't nonexistent. MSL says "CD2's been done for a very long time" and that "axl has masses of stuff ready to go." those are quotes from MSL right here on this mygnrforum. and. i believe MSL. MSL is credible. MSL is the chinese democracy insider. CD2 exists. CD2 is done and ready for release

Don't waste your time with this clown. If the focus of GNR is on anything other than on the years Robin Finck was in the band he bitches and complains.

Not sure if Finck6 noticed, but while this interview was playing there was maybe 150-200 members logged in seeking updates. There aren't thousands of fans world wide clamouring for answers to questions that he wants answered. His goal with this interview isn't to please people like him but to sell tickets to a show that's meant to appeal to casual fans. If this band had to solely rely on the hardcore fanbase for their livelihood Axl would be forced to sell his house tomorrow.

But guys like Finck6 don't get that and they never will.

what i don't get is why axl rose didn't talk about CD2. since it is the topic guns n roses fans want answers on. internet and worldwide

and robin finck was the lead guitarist of guns n roses from 1999-2008. so excuse me if i think axl rose should give a straight answer on whether the unheard chinese songs robin's recorded as the lead guitarist of guns n roses will be on cd2 or not

excuse me for having a brain and wanting answers from axl rose on CD2 this year. not 2013. not 2014. this year. 2012

You're not wrong to want answers for those questions, you're wrong in the vicinity in which to ask them. Going on a late night talk show to plug an important run in Vegas is not the forum to get into questions that very few casual GNR fans want to know about. HEAR MY WORDS: THIS INTERVIEW WASN'T MEANT FOR ANYONE WHO BELONGS TO A GNR FORUM! It's meant for the people of Southern California and people who might be traveling to Vegas in the next few weeks. His priority is moving tickets, not enlightening GNR fans about the status of GNR and when he thinks we'll hear the next great Finck/Axl masterpiece.

Seriously dude, look up the term context. Then apply it to why Axl was on the show and what the band has on its calender. That's what this was about. You're a fool if you think otherwise.

then i'm a fool for thinking axl would actually care to give the guns n roses fans hope for a 2012 CD2 release. i'm a fool

  5. Not interesting at all. An old man trying to sell tickets for his Las Vegas residency... pathetic.

how hard is it for jimmy kimmel to ask axl rose this "axl rose, is the next chinese democracy album coming out in 2012?" and "are the songs robin finck, buckethead, and brain written n' recorded before dj ashba, bumblefoot, and frank ferrer joined guns n roses still on the next chinese democracy album as originally planned?" how hard is it for kimmel to ask axl this on TV Talk Show?

  6. i think jimmy kimmel should've asked axl about CD2. the better music video. robin finck. buckethead. brain. the chinese democracy album. 2006 RIR. 2002 MTV VMA.

you don't know how talk shows work, do you?

look, i'm the first to be objective about axl's interviews. his pre-arranged shit with del james was fucking pathetic. there's a time to ask those kinds of questions. a talk show isn't it: they are pre-designed to afford celebs a venue to sell their newest products, while appearing genial and homely. if you're going to attack axl for anything, it certainly isn't for selling something: duh, bro. that's what talk shows are for. he's trying to sell tickets to his vegas show. why do you think letterman doesn't ask tom cruise, while promoting MI:4, why scientology is a cult? even in that case it would be somewhat acceptable, because cruise is known for it. the average person aware of GN'R/Axl Rose doesn't know who the fuck robin finck is, and probably doesn't even care about CD2, given the original album's lackluster sales. that's another topic for another time.

axl handled this perfectly, and kimmel was a great interviewer. big props to both of them. fucking loved seeing axl on TV again, man. i can't believe people are griping about this. really just makes me roll my hypothetical eyeballs (my real eyeballs are fixated on the screen in disbelief).

it's not about how interviews work. it's about what the guns n roses fans want to know. the guns n roses fans wanted to know about CD2 in 2012 from axl rose on jimmy kimmel. axl rose didn't give the guns n roses fans what they wanted with CD2 on jimmy kimmel.

  7. i think jimmy kimmel should've asked axl about CD2. the better music video. robin finck. buckethead. brain. the chinese democracy album. 2006 RIR. 2002 MTV VMA. if CD2 comes out in 2012. when there'll be a new guns n roses single on itunes for purchase and download. jimmy kimmel didn't ask the tough questions. axl didn't offer answers or to talk about the tough issues even when kimmel wasn't going to talk about it. nothings changed. it's funny chinese democracy insider MSL knows and talks more about guns n roses business than axl rose does on TV or on the internet. axl didn't talk guns n' roses business on Kimmel. maybe i should've known better.

  8. Everything is massive in India.

Interesting place for a band like this to be fair.

and jobs from america get outsourced to india too. IBM is a big example

  9. If it was released it would be the second set of Chinese Democracy Sessions hence CD2

exactly. hence dj ashba writing songs around the clock will have to wait for at least cd4. because cd2 and cd3 have been completed without his writing and recording. completed during the chinese democracy sessions. dj wasn't part of the chinese recording or chinese writing sessions. axl rose, robin finck, buckethead, tommy stinson, richard fortus, dizzy reed, goose, and brain are the main principal players in the chinese sessions.

  10. Sorry Soulmonster. I didn't realise you had downs. I'll use words like gom and gobdaw in future.

Is there really any solid evidence of a new album in its entirety? Amazing how there is no industry chatter, no leaks, no rumours about artwork, liner notes. Just a bunch of contradicting statements from liars and dreamers. Yeah, it must be right around the corner.

MSL says CD2's been ready. and that it features the songs he mentioned on his youtube video like soulmonster, the general, cuban skies, blood in the water, and monstrosity. to name a few. these songs were recorded pre-current gnr live lineup band. they're ready to go for release and purchase!

  11. Stop bitching about Axl's voice for God's sake...I've been watching Guns since 1990 and i pretty much have most of the bootlegs from day 1...The golden 1991-1993 era was golden not because of Axl's voice but because of the attitude of the band..Axl had some very shitty moments during his early days,i wonder how you forget about it...the point is that he is out there doing this thing and i support him and the boys...Things have changed, music industry is completely different now and being on the road is the only way a band can make money nowadays...India?Jakarta?...I won't be surprised if the band plays South Pole next year but that's the way it is...take it or leave it...

Once a fan always a fan.Rock on Axl

i must have Romneisa. cause i wasn't a fan of guns n roses then. i was a fan of guns n roses when robin finck, buckethead, and brain were the nu-big guns of guns n roses. when axl first started playing madagascar, the blues, and chinese democracy live with them. with robin, bucket, and brain on stage. around the world. so i don't know about that period. i don't know about the golden 1991-1993 guns n roses bootleg era. but you're saying axl sounded like he had strep throat then in the 90's like axl did at both benefit shows?

Go find some bootlegs or videos. There were absolutely some rough nights 91-93. Even the concerts from Tokyo that got released have some brutal moments in them.

is the tokyo guns n roses concert on youtube?

  12. Did anyone in the GnR camp ever suggest it would be called Chinese Democracy 2? With CD having been a commercial disappointment and that title having been a punch line for years, why would they want to dwell on that name. Seems silly.

Someday we might hear a new album but I highly doubt thats what it would be called.

cd2 is the next chinese democracy album robin finck, buckethead n' brain written n' recorded in the studio during the chinese democracy studio sessions. so far cd1 has been released from these sessions. cd2 is next. and cd3 after that.

  13. @bumblefoot

    Rehearsal time!

    512671proxy2.jpg

You can count Axl out of that.

um axl won't be rehearsing with the band for the vegas residency shows?

Regarding his last performance he really needs to

    sincerlEry,

    your commander in chief

if axl still has medical problems affeting his voice...axl needs to be rehearsing around the clock to be ready for vegas residency

  14. Please don't kill the messenger. I was watching Kimmel this morning (shortly after midnight) and he read off one by one a list of the guests for the show, each guest got a loud applause with Prince getting the loudest.

Then he mentions that Axl will be appearing on the next night's show - there was literally no applause, no reaction whatsoever.

Make of it what you will ...

i make it out to sound bad. hope axl doesn't get a cold auidence reaction walking to kimmel

  16. Kickstarter, while a novel idea, would only receive a negative backlash along the lines that Axl can't get a record deal.

according to MSL it's not about a record deal. it's not about money. axl is 1% wealthy. like Romney and friends. like Hollywood and Sports Superstars. it's not about that. because cd2 has been done a while. the songs have been written and recorded. cd2 is ready to go. it's been ready. but it's right now sitting on the shelf. collecting dust. why? like the beach boys say "god only knows" and god only knows why an album pre-recorded pre-2012 guns n roses lineup isn't out to purchase before upcoming vegas residency tour.

maybe we will figure it out after the kimmel show...

    SincerlEry,

    Your Commander In Chief

maybe cause MSL is the nu-chinese democracy insider...

  17. I'm betting we're gonna have a lot of talk about the tour and the current Vegas Residency and maybe a question about future plans with a vague "We're gonna tour Asia after the Vegas shows" and "we'll see what happens from there," but I doubt anything ground breaking comes from this.

My desire is for Axl to say they're going to tour for a bit then work on finishing touches for the next album.

so none of the MSL CD2 talk will be talked about by axl rose on kimmel tonight?

    wait and See

    SincerlEry,

    Your Commander In Chief

i have no choice but to wait, my commander in chief. since i have no inside info on what axl talks about tonight on kimmel

  20. What is not that bad? The fact that he flubbed the lyrics, or the fact that his voice sounds like a wounded cat? This is not what Axl Rose freaking sounds like, I don't care how old or sick he is. I'm not whining, I am honestly confused. I wouldn't want to see ANYONE who sings like this perform. Forget the fact that the name of the person singing is Axl Rose... if his name was Joe Bareass, I'd be like.. WTF is this?

I am literally in shock at how awful the acoustic WTTJ clip sounds. Maybe this isn't the right place to express serious emotions, but I honestly care about Axl Rose and what I heard disturbed me greatly. I'm in complete denial that this is what he can possibly sound like. It's as though the audio has been tampered with in some way, it is that bad.

it's not the audio. something is wrong with axl's voice. could be strep. or something more serious. we don't know. we're not doctors. but it sounds like axl need hospital treatment and time to heal his voice.

Thank you because it doesn't seem like anyone is taking this seriously. Haters are pouncing on it and fans are saying "it's not that bad" but I think there is serious shit going on here. It's like watching Jerry Garcia during his final days with the Grateful Dead. It's freaking me out.

IMO there's something seriously wrong with axl's voice. whether it's strep or bronchitis. something much worse. something is wrong. in 2006 axl had a killer voice. killer look. killer physical shape. the outline for the better vid with axl's role in the video. something is wrong in 2012. i'm not a doctor. i can't tell you what it is. what i can tell you is i'd advise against performing live until you're healthy. body and soul

Listen to Patience, Axl kill(t) it.

first show? cause axl blew out his voice on first patience. when that happens you want to take a break from performing until you're better
