  1. I like dance music and also psy-trance.

I'm a big "infected mushroom" fan. If you don't know them check them out they are brilliant!

Here's a new song by them

I don't like the video but the song is great!
  2. ^ You are going to have a great time!! I saw them almost a week ago and they are AMAZING!!!!

A video from the gig I was:

It' being shot from a technician from the stage! And we are a loud crowd B)

Ok and a personal favorite from the same gig

  3. Bruce Dickinson

    Bruce-Dickinson-np02.jpg

The Maiden frontman has covered everything from classic rock to progressive to 90's metal.

    Members:

    Bruce Dickinson - vocals

    Adrian Smith - guitar

    Roy Z - guitar

    Eddie Casillas - bass

    David Ingraham - drums

    Discography

    Tattooed Millionaire (1990)

    Balls To Picasso (1994)

    Skunkworks (1996)

    Accident Of Birth (1997)

    The Chemical Wedding (1998)

    Tyranny Of Souls (2005)

    Where to start?

The place to start should really be decided by taste of music. Tattooed Millionaire and Balls To Picasso were much more classic 70's rock sytle, TM in particualr has some very Aerosmith-esque songs such as Tattooed Millionaire, Hell On Wheels and Lickin' The Gun. There were also a few softer ballad style songs on these albums, notably Born In '58, Gypsy Road and Tears Of The Dragon. Skunkworks featured almost grungy riffs with classic Bruce lyrics over the top, much more experimental than any of his other work. Accident Of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny Of Souls are all flat out metal albums, ranging from prog metal (Gates Of Urizen, Darkside Of Aquarius) to thrashy metal (The Road To Hell, Abduction, Killing Floor and Soul Intruders). The Chemical Wedding also seemed to be the basis of modern Maiden, featuring several songs that are epics, and the use of drop tunings (King In Crimson is actually played with the bottom 3 strings tuned to a bass!) Tyranny Of Souls is where I started, but only because it was all that was available when I got into Bruce. IMO, Tattooed Millionaire is the best starting point, as it features the best songwriting Bruce has done since early Maiden.

    Totally agree!!! ;)

Love everything cos each album is him trying to experiment on various stuff. Tatooed, Balls to Picasso, Scunkworks, Chemical wedding, have nothing to do with each other.

Chemical Wedding is my best album. Love it love it loooooove it

btw this pic is so cool!

  4. Malmsteen is perfect technically but I can't listen to him. Not to mention watching him live. I've heard the worst about his non ending show off solos.

    Not my style

There are so many other perfect virtuosos that compose marvelous stuff.

  5. As a starter album, I'd say check out Train Of Thought. I've heard them all and that's my favorite so far, it's the heaviest, most aggressive but with moments of real calm and a lot of prog goodness. It is so good that Octavarium felt like such a letdown... I gave my copy away.

Totally agree! It also has "As I am" in which is one of my favourite songs.

  6. I have that show on VHS, it's funny they show a news report after the gig where they interview people leaving the show, and one of them says the fans really messed up that kid that was spitting at Blaze.

Oh man, I just saw the Download set again. Bruce taking a tumble during Wrathchild is priceless!

I saw that video too last night. Funny funny!!!

Aw poor Bruce, he continued singing and there was no "ouch" nothing

  7. Blaze really is awful. That performance was dire.

No-one can sing Maiden like Bruce. He's the only voice of Maiden for me.

That rant was pretty funny though.

Totally agree. I was on the X-factour and I didn't like him at all

    Bruce is unique!

  8. not much of a struggle, he still got 'em.

His voice is still good but nowhere as good as it used to be. He really has probelms with the high notes sometimes. Compare it to Hammersmith 1982.

Why compare a 24 year old to a 48 year old?

Because moreblack said, he still got it. That's why, you need to compare them.

Compare how his voice has aged to say, Geddy Lee or Robert Plant.

Bruce hasn't lost much of a step...

I'm with moreblack on this -_-

Bruce still got it. He may not hit as high notes as in the past but his voice is so much more mature. I love it!

  9. what is Dream Theatre like? I've never listened to a single song but are they "Pink Floydish"? That's not based on anything..

Extremely technical tight music. Very good stuff, you should check them out :)

I too didn't know they had a new album coming out...I'll have to get a copy after work :)

Allegedly they're flawless live, which would be beyond amazing.

Yes they are flawless and in fact they add more stuff to their solos

It's also great that they do some covers in every live. For example 2 years ago (last time I saw them) they did "Highway Star" from Deep Purple. Amazing!

And also Jordan Rudess came on stage wearing a fun 80s style wig, which he removed later on. :xmassrudolph:

    I LOVE THEM!!!!

  10. am i the only one who actually likes "I was made for loving you?"

but their early stuff was awesome. I would have killed to see them live, their show must have been a real spectacle.

I love "I was made for loving you"!!!! :D

I wish I could see them live.

Some years ago I thought they were overrated, but a friend liked them and so I became a fan too.

  11. Wildest Dreams, Powerslave and Die With Your Boots on would be good too rock1

They deffinitely won't play Die With Your Boots on since they played it on the Early Days tour, and they deffinitely won't play Powerslave cause next year's the Golden Years tour. I guess something from DOD would be cool, but Maiden never change up their setlist mid tour.

    Wrong they do change it.

The setlist they had in Greece and and Dubai (which was the same) differed from the rest of their AMOLAD tour

I don't like DOD. I can't see what the rest of you like in it but even if I had the best of intentions to listen to it, it still sounds as one of the most weak maiden albums to me.

No, this isn't still the AMOLAD tour, the tour shirts proove it! :tongue2: Besides, they're doing a different setlist this year from '06 because they wanted to play classics in place they'd never played. Face it, a lot of people didn't like the idea of the whole album being played live.

    Yes I know it's a new tour :tongue2:

I meant that as they did it in the AMOLAD one they could still do it again. Anyway it doesn't really matter. As long as it's Maiden live it's gonna kick ass! haha

Concerning the AMOLAD yes you got a point. There are many mostly young fans that see them live for the first time so they 're looking forward to listen to the classics. But speaking for myself I enjoyed listening to the new songs. Not only they are great but also the band put a lot of energy when playing them.

  12. Wasn't it released yesterday?

Damn I gotta have it NOW!

I love Dream Theater. This band is such a guarantee , they just never make shitty albums especially now that they have evolved so much.

I'll see them live for second time this July on Rockwave festival.

I suggest everybody to go see them live. They are awesome!

Btw I don't see the resemblance between PF and DT. I was never a big PF fan. I can see though what's it about but I just like a few songs.

  13. How about this?

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=L2s9r2HKB7U

The band is in top form, the crowd is in love with it, quite frankly, its one of the greatest songs ever written, and a great performance of it.

    Up the Irons!!!!

love it love it love it!!!!

Wow the crowd!! This DVD is great if only it wasn't all about Steve concerning the director's cover.

Aaaah this voice!!! Gets better by time more mature!

Except for "Number Of The Beast", "Powerslave", "Piece Of Mind", "Seventh Song Of A Seventh Son", etc....

    I love this album.

oh not again Iceman! We've been through this before

but what else should I expect from a guy who likes S.A.G.A.P.O.

  16. Black Sabbath

    Iron Maiden

Bruce Dickinson (The chemical wedding is one of the best metal albums)

    Dream Theater (loooooove them!)

    Liquid Tension Experiment

    Metallica

    Megadeth

    Judas Priest

    Helloween

    Savatage

    Amorphis

    Sentenced

Gotta admit that I'm not listening much to metal anymore, but for DT, LTE, Dickinson and the last maiden album(AMOLAD) which was great

Edit: 1st of July Heaven and Hell, Dream Theater live!

    and 3rd of July Metallica!

    I'm going ^_^

  17. Lucky you guys that will be there

I hope I'll be able to at least watch it though

When it comes to maiden live, I just can't get enough! I've seen them 5 times the last was this march and Bruce solo 3 times.

Cool setlist! "The evil that men do" is one of my fav maiden songs and out of AMOLAD "For The Greater Good of God", great song, amazing live!

    Up the Irons!
