The number of the beast is an amazing album!
It has never crossed my mind before that it is underrated too. I mean if there are people that think of it as a weak album...
-
Iron Maiden for me, my best band!
Seventh Son is a great album. Maiden are one of the few bands that has made so many successful albums and hasn't ever had a gap in it's discography. Neither has ever released a crappy album.
I love maiden's music, and everyone in the band is awsome (I must admit though that J.Gers is my least favourite).
Bruce Dickinson is absolutely fucking awsome singer and frontman and he has also written some great songs.
Adrian Smith is one of my favorite guitarists.
And well Steve Harris ...
I like Metallica very much but I'm a Maiden fan!

BRUCE DICKINSON! The best frontman ever! A trully charismatic man!
Dave
Bon

I don't know which song you mean. But if you remember part of the lyrics, use google to find the song via them. For example search for "save yourself lyrics" or something and then check the results in youtube.

Metallica are awesome. By far the best performance of Download 06
70,000 fans in the palm of their hands and lovin every second.

I'll be there too!!!Metallica forever
oh cool!! I'll go there with Gina so we'll have a meeting!

Mick Mars is deffinitely underrated. Also Dave Murray, Chuck Treece (Most people have probably never even heard of him!), Roy Z and Alex Lifeson
Too right Powerage! In my oppinion RoyZ is one of the finest guitarists!

Forgot to mention:
Deep Purple - Highway Star (Machine Head)
One of the hardest rocking songs of all time, straight up energy!
Yay too right!
-
Pull me under- Images.., Dream Theater
Aces high as TTM said
Be quick or be dead (Fear of the Dark -Maiden) Actually most Maiden albums
Enter Sandman - Black Album,Metallica
Jungle - AFD, GNR
All I can think about now
-
Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands. I love them and I'll see them live again on 1st of July!
-
I don't hate any bands, there are bands that I like and bands that I don't care for.
Focussing hate onto a band is just lame. What have they done to you?
Too right. There are many annoying songs and bands, but listing them is just stupid

hey iceman, thanks for the suggestions and links!
Im leaning towards Brave New World or Dance of Death, they both sound pretty kick ass too me. How is Somewhere In Time?
See, most people don't like Dance Of Death, but for me it's a very underrated album.
And I don't own Somewhere In Time, but I heard a few songs (for example Holy Smoke) and it must be an awesome album. This will definitely be my next Maiden album.
Holy smoke is out of the "no prayer..." album

Somewhere in Time is an awsome album, one of their finest.
"Wasted Years" and the epic "Alexander the Great" are my favorites.
Personally I think that Dance of Death was one of their worst albums. A Brave New World was a great comeback and I think that their finest album since 7th son is their new one.
Edit: I've found a cool anime music video on youtube
It's not one of the best anime but it's cool to watch it and listen to this amazing songAnd here's
live from maiden England many many years ago (wow this spandex  oops sorry hehe) -
I must say I think the "fear of the dark" album was pretty bad.
The song however is genius.
I have no idea how Steve Harris come up with the lyrics. He must read alot
From wikipedia:
"The song is said to be about Harris' childhood fear of the dark."
And no way, the Fear Of The Dark album is amazing as I ranked it before, number 4 in my list. I love it. Amazing songs on this album.
I have to disagree. I love Iron Maiden. Probably one of the best metal bands out there, but Fear of the Dark is a lackluster album in my opinion. It has great songs like Be Quick or Be Dead, From Here to Eternity, Judas Be My Guide, and the title track, but some tracks are seriously lacking a Maiden edge. Weekend Warrior has to be one of the shittiest Maiden songs ever recorded.
I agree. It was also the period that Bruce Dickinson felt tired by Maiden and decided to take a break and occupy himself with his own music
-
Best metal band is Uriah Heep, come on...
I love Uriah Heep
-
Maiden were a very fun band. Just can't take a lot of it seriously you know.
I'm going to have to agree with Lithium in that I also prefer Di'Annio to Bruce Dickinson.
Technically I would say Bruce probably has a better range than Di'Annio and all that shit but I just prefer the first two Maiden albums to anything since. Di'Annio has more of a rawer edge to his voice and it's less singing about "dungeons and dragons" and all that. Still like a lot of the Bruce era though. It's probably as I'm more partial to punk rock than heavy metal.
That can surelly be it.
Paul was the punk element in this metal band. And that was really avant garde on behalf of Iron Maiden that years.
Don't get me wrong I love the first 2 albums and Di'anno's voice but still I personally prefer the Dickinson era.

Bruce bores me a bit. Paul was unique.
Maybe Paul would have bored you too if he had done 10 Maiden albums + the live ones.
There's nothing boring about my Bruce, but then again we can't all agree on everything
That's not why he bores me. He bores me because there's nothing really unique about him.
Okay you're talking with Bruce's no1 fan. Don't get me start it!

My fav band ever. I 'm a fan for 14 years now
Bruce Dickinson is the best!
Up the Irons!

My father has been a huge Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Rainbow fan. Therefore I was always into rock music and metal (Black Sabbath)
My favourite metal band is and has always been Iron Maiden and I've started listening to them by my cousin who was slightly older than me. Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Adrian Smith and the rest. Songs that narrate tales and create a scenery that they make you imagine and put you in it. Great music/rhythm, awsome solos and riffs, fun lyrics and this smooth heavenly voice. I also love Bruce Dickinson's solo work and especially the album Chemical Wedding which I definatelly recomend.
I love Judas Priest, Metallica, Dream Theater (one of my best bands), Tool, Nevermore, Savatage, Dio
When I was in my teens I used to listen to more bands which I don't anymore at least not that often. From Power metal... Gamma Ray, Helloween, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Angra, Stratovarious (I really can't stand them now hehe), Iced Earth (not power exactly at least some of the last albums were), Blind Guardian etc
And generally I liked too bands from other kinds. For a long time I was really into Sentenced, Amorphis, Rage, I liked Therion as well and others.
That's all I remember now, definatelly I'm forgetting stuff!

As I 've found it today in the official iron maiden site:
"The results of a study of more than 1,000 of the brightest five per cent of young people will come as relief to parents whose offspring, usually long-haired, are devotees of Iron Maiden, AC/DC and their musical descendants."
You do the comments hehe
source check out also the link in this page for "Brains in the bands" Go Bruce!!!
Alice Cooper is the only metal to interest me really...does that make me dumb? probably..
:rofl-lol:
Concerning myself, Bruce Dickinson has always been my favourite! haha

No Athens?
What the fuck! They've cancelled the show last summer and now they don't include us? They'd better put a show here!
-
I 'm a fan of both and I grew up listening a lot to both them.
As for Sabbath I 'm biased there are songs that only Ozzy can sing in this way (for example Paranoid) but on the other hand Dio in Heaven and Hell is absolutely perfect. So I cannot choose one but I think it is great to be able to listen to Black Sabbath in these 2 different eras and be able to see them live once with Ozzy on vocals (2 years ago) and once with Dio (Heaven and Hell, the upcoming July)!!
Concerning the solo carrier, I think both have made some excellent songs/ albums. As years pass I've changed my mind. Untill the age of 18 I preffered Ozzy but afterwards and now I preffer Dio.
Maiden or Metallica?

I can't say they are like GnR and especially on the members part. Since Nicko McBrain joined Maiden in 1983 the band has only added Janick Gers on 1993 (and Blaze for a short while).
So they appear to be quite stable and that's another thing I like cos they are so bonded!
I've seen them live 5 times and you could feel that!
That period without Bruce and Smith broke my heart though. I still remember the days when I heard the happy news finally!!!!
UP THE IRONS!!!! or as AMOLAD says... COME ON YOU IRONS!!!
