Bit hard when they have to go through middlemen to talk to Axl in regards to internal band affairs. Axl didn't even know what transpired between Bucket and the band, he had to hear from Merck and even Axl was skeptical about it.

I like at least half of the songs and you could put some weird stuff on the B - Sides (Silkworms, Catcher w/Brian May on Guitar, live footage, the Song chinese democraxy without the Intro, etc...)

You are right, but since i know the song (Shacklers Revenge), i totally knew what the guy was talking about.

But it´s kinda a disco Tune (like a better "Oh my god"), and as of course there is the high and the low piched voice; they create a certain atmosphere. But "demonic", "calm yet sinister" (are we talking about Black Metal!?), plus "ambiguity through symbolism" (same here, satanic symbols anyone?) was a bit much...

In this case of shackler's the higher voice and lower voice represent two different voices in the mind of the speaker. The higher one is demonic and aggressive, the lower one is sinister yet calm.It gives the song an ambiguity through symbolism.. it's not just in there because he didn't know which one to sing with. In using the backing track, he can have both voices and the same effect as the studio. Also the harmonising gives the song a kickass energy which would be missing if he took it out.

There's not really much reason to continue to dissect Axl's words-the simple fact is that he lied to us once again-not about the release date because he said that was tentative, but rather about the fact that we would be updated if the deadline couldn't be met.

So long as you're dissecting it even though you say we shouldn't, he said he would update us as soon as possible in regard to a new date.

There's no new date yet, so he's not updating us.

I mean, how do you use such a big event to draw attention to your album? Axl would almost need to make a huge political statement to actually get attention that ties the Olympics and China to his album. Because otherwise people would not even link the two in anything more than in an ironic coincidence sort of way. And if Axl does intend to make the kind of big statement he'd have to make, god knows he'll be criticized by a lot of people.

Just remember Axls statement at the Las Vegas Show in 2001. He was talking about the Dailalama (spelling) who fled from Tibet in order to get exiled, since Tibet is occupied by China. Axl was referring to some kind of movie about him and he mentioned that he looked back on the people who helped him and that they where all dead. Anybody remember 1990 (or was it 89). Chinese Students where having a Demonstration at the "place of heavenly peace", demanding more civil liberties/freedom. They where shot down by the military, using tanks.

like i said before, Axl saying "the timing couldn´t be any better" could be a reference to the 2008 olympics which are coming up on china, this will shine a light on the opressive communist country which gives a shit about human rights, the environment (spelling!?) and leads it´s economy in a hardcore capitalist way. There was that one post where she told a guy not to buy the CD because Axl doesn´t make music for people like him. And that it takes a certain time tp produce `n´ record it and so because it has to be done "RIGHT". (she did use capitol letters). I found that, along with a beer and a spliff, to be funny as shit. Thus, it´s not a waste of time i.e. nonsense.

But why would Axl be adamant about 2008? It's just really strange. Usually you don't know exactly when an album is coming out. You work on it and see how it goes and when it's ready you release it. But somehow Axl knows in 2006 that the album will be handed over in 2008? If that's the case then there must be something special about that year. I'd love to hear theories. Unfortunately, I doubt any of this is accurate. Though it appears, as I re-read that thread, that others have vouched for the fact that the interview did happen.

Yes, i have an idea indeed. The upcoming 2008 olympics in china!! I saw a special about it on german television and the chinese communist party (as of course) are using the olympics as a big propaganda machine (not unlike the nazis did in 1938). They (the chinese communist party) want to make it look like their country (including the opressive, human rights denying government) is something kina like a chinese democracy.

For the people of china the olympics do not mean a change for the good. Lots of people got kicked out of their homes (nice traditional chinese houses) , the places where torn down by bulldozers and the people where replaced in "communist style" flat-like appartments.

I also think this is what Axl meant by saying "the timing couldn´t be better". He gives us a teaser through Baz Album, and then in 2008 we got the olympics in china. This will shed light again on the opressive government and the fucked up human rights situation there. The whole chinese issue will be back on the map.

What do you guys think!? I´m really serious on this one!!
