  1. Kojima Disappointed With Metal Gear Solid 4

"Game-wise, it's pretty close to the original vision: you sneak into the battlefield and can choose whether to do a stealth game or interfere with the battle more directly. But the graphic, side things like motion-blending and the size of the map, totally was not accomplished to my original vision - to my satisfaction."

"When we first showed the game engine at TGS, the staff were really proud and happy. PS3 was a dream machine, y'know, and we were going to work on this and that - and we had so many ideas. But when we actually started developing the game, we realized there were a lot of restrictions and so it turned out how you see it today. The original vision was to go ten steps further, the reality was just one step, which isn't to say we didn't progress.I remember saying three years ago that we wanted to create something revolutionary, but in reality we couldn't really do that because of the CPU. We're using the Cell engine to its limit., actually. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the PS3 machine, it's just that we weren't really aware of what the full-spec PS3 offered - we were creating something we couldn't entirely see."

    :(

Kinda weird he's coming out and saying this before the games even out.

  2. EDIT: Has anyone heard anything about There Will Be Blood? We've got it here at the house and I'm debating if I want to watch that or Walk Hard.

It's brilliant. Walk Hard is pretty good as well. Tends to drag on a bit but an enjoyable flick nonetheless. There Will Be Blood is by far the better film though.

  3. George Clinton told Eddie Hazel to play like his mom had just died - this is what he did:

It's not only one of the best guitar-solos ever, but it's also one of the best songs of the 70s.

Agreed. Maggot Brain is an amazing solo.

    My fav solos:

    Lynyrd Skynrd - Freebird

    Eagles - Hotel California

    Buckethead - Nottingham Lace

Eric Clapton - Classical Gas and Layla

    RHCP - Californication

  4. anyone get their free guitar hero song? Dream on- Aerosmith

    today was the last day

I downloaded and installed it but i'm not sure how i'm supposed to play it.. Should it just appear in the 'Downloaded Songs' playlist? Because it's not. :(

  5. 'Guitar Hero: Aerosmith' is announced

Fans of rock band Aerosmith will soon be able to experience their Grammy-winning career after games publisher Activision announced it is releasing a Guitar Hero title dedicated to the group.

Stepping into the shoes of Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drummer) and Steven Tyler, gamers will follow the band from their first gig to global stardom.

“Having a game built around Aerosmith has been a huge honor and really a great experience for us,” said Aerosmith's Joe Perry. “We’ve put a lot of ideas into the game so that fans can have fun interacting with our music, getting inside our body of work and learning about the band’s history.”

To celebrate the game's arrival, owners of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock can download Dream On, a free Aerosmith track, from Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation Store for today only.

Just went on and downloaded Dream On. :D It's only available on the American Store though.

  6. You should see him now Shades, the guy is hardcore, like an Irish Keith Richards crossed with Hunter S. Thompson by way of Brendan Behan. Addicted to heroin for years and a major alcoholic and still rockin out at 50. He couldn't give a shit about his teeth, I think he has one or two left.

Yeah he lost another couple of teeth last year when he fell over a wall whilst vomiting. The front two teeth where lost when he tried to eat a copy of The Beach Boys' Greatest Hits, Vol. 3 LP whilst under the influence of LSD

On topic - Saw DKM live a couple of weeks ago and they were fantastic. By the end of the gig me and my mates were on stage with the band drinking cans of stout :D

  7. Anyone else listen to these guys? Just recently got their latest album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga and I haven't stopped listening to it.

For those who don't know who they are they're an American indie rock band.

Youtube of the video for 'The Underdog':

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LenPKPqvdJA

'You Got Yr Cherry Bomb' is probably the best song on the album but, as far as I know, there's no video for it.

Yeah I have known about these guys for awhile. If you are just getting into them, go back and check out these earlier albums.

Girls Can Tell and Kill the Moonlight ; They both are FAR superior to their latest album.

Got a hold of Girls Can Tell the other day. Another great album but at the minute I still prefer Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga . I've a feeling this one could really grow on me though. Still haven't heard Kill the Moonlight but i'll be getting it as soon as I can! Brilliant band!

Which is their best album in your opinion?

  8. Well, what did everyone think of the Lesnar fight?

I thought he did well considering it was his first, he just needs some proper experience, looked a bit lost at points I thought. Top comeback by Mir.

The title fight was good too, fantastic guillotine submission.

Needs to work on his submission defence.. he went in just throwing limbs in everywhere. Was only a matter of time until Mir grabbed a hold of one.

Would love to see him go up against another standup fighter though. Somebody who isn't a submission expert... Lesnar vs Sylvia?

  9. wii sports owns any other game on any other console out there.

That's just ridiculous  I wouldn't even classify Wii Sports as a game. It's more of a demonstration of what the Wii is capable of. That's why they include it with the console.

  10. Arcade Fire-"Neon Bible"

The album before this one, "Funeral," was a breathe of fresh air..........to bad it was raved upon by all the critics. Seems the band let all the adoration go to its head and produced a "dud." Where are the songs?

Hasn't this been praised by most critics? Here in Sweden it's on every goddamn critics "best of 2007"-list... I haven't heard it though.

Yeah it has. I don't understand why.

    It is crap.

I liked it. Didn't think it was as great as the critics claimed but still a good album.

Then again I haven't heard 'Funeral.'

  11. So, is there a difference between hip-hop and rap? I don't listen to much of it, but I LOVE Eminem. I've been listening to him a lot lately.

Hip Hop is the entire culture that includes Rap, Breakdancing, Graffiti Art, and DJing.

Don't get it confused with the "industry" garbage that they claim to be hip hop. Meaning all of the bling bling, materialistic shit that you hear on your radio and TV.

Just out of curiosity.. are you the guy that mentioned he was friendly with Housten Alexander in the mma thread? Becaue I read an interview of his the other day, where he mentioned hip hop culture, and he seems to think along the exact same lines as you  Sounds like a pretty cool guy as well.

    Current Hip Hop I appreciate:

    Outkast

    Nas

    Kanye

    Lupe Fiasco

    Ghostface Killah

There's a lot more but that would be the majority I listen to from todays scene. Not really into eminem as much but I can acknowledge he has amazing lyrical ability.

  12. Okay Gamers, I need your help.

I've bought Rock Band and all the instruments from the US, and they work fine on my UK PS3.

The Downloads/Add-ons/Extra songs that Sony add to the PSstore each week, how can I get my hands on them?

If it requires a mod chip then I'll pass, which brings me to my next question - when the game is finally released in the UK, will the downloads on the PS3 UK Store work on my US copy?

    Cheers.

I'd say if you created an American PSN account you could just download the add ons from the American Store and they would probably work fine.
