He's not fully innocent either. There's a difference between playing fast and rushing the hits. He sounds anxious and nervous. He's hitting ahead of time and struggling to keep a steady tempo without speeding up the songs. 

A third party, they trust and respect, needs to sit down with them and make them understand something is wrong. They are all pushing too much. The adrenaline, nerves and pressure of the situation is playing against them. 

Now, I rather see a rushed GnR than no GnR at all. I've been waiting for this moment since I was 13 years old. I get goose bumps every time I see those two in stage together. I'm not gonna let some tempo problems spoil the moment. But it still needs to be addressed. 

 

P.s. Before anyone starts bashing me, I'm a professional musician who has been earning a living playing live for more than 20 years. If there's something I know is that when playing live, even though the drummer is the most capable of affecting the speed, the tempo is every band member's responsibility. 

Great post! Maybe it really is the nerves. And no its not that bad it would ruin anything, but just cant ignore it on couple of songs. Anyone noticed how much Duff goes to frank during the songs, he is really trying to keep it together.

Yes. Its weird I always thought Frank is decent because he is reliable, boring as hell, but reliable. Now hes boring and cant do the job anymore, what the fuck? No more click? Really, cant keep the rhythm without a click....another one with the same issue is Axl, he just cant count to 4 sometimes lol. But hes god so i dont care.

this is not Dream Theater or something though. 

Have noticed this. the worst thing is the songs speed up during the songs, thats just weird from pro musicians. In a lot of songs theres just confusion between them. Drummer is the most important thing in a band.

Did they ever do breakdown live? Might be a false memory, but have a feeling they actually did, once or twice?

yes two members of guns n roses have been asked to play guns n roses songs. axl owes them big time for that 

 I was sarcastic. Obviously I failed lol. CD is GNR album, agree, thats why its logical to play some songs from it, not sure if I like it or not though. But what axl owns for slash and duff, VR song? Highly doubt now that they are back in GNR, they are hoping for some VR songs to be played. 

If they wanted to play a whole damn show as a tribute to Weiland, that would be awesome!! STP stuff, VR songs....yeah would love it.

Also, at least one of the VR songs was presented to Axl first to be a GNR song. 

So suggesting that Slash and Duff were somehow "humiliated" for creating a hit album with VR - and then suggesting that a VR song is equivalent to Axl playing a random cover song is kind of silly. 

 

 Im not huge fan of VR, I admit, couple of great tunes. But they were/are huge. One of the greatest front man ever, grammys and all.  VR does not need Axl, it was great on its own. Duff or slash were not humiliated at all. They know they did great with VR. 

I guess im just wondering if some fans see this "reunion" as a mix of VR and Axls GNR, like both bands are equal or something. just think they should play GNR songs. VR song would be a cover song to me, not some song that "should have been".

This is GNR, not VR. Tribute to scott, sure why not STP song, lemmy, Elvis etc...totally yes. But VR has nothing to do with GNR. Its a different band. CD is GNR record, like it or not. VR stuff is not.

Never. Axl has no problem hitting those high notes, rasp or not. I understand if singer simply cant hit the notes anymore, and it helps to try half step down, its ok. Whole step down....it changes the music too much.
