  1. I started out reading HTGTH and this forum in late 05 and eventually joined this place in 06, at that time I wanted every bit of information about Chinese Democracy I could possibly scrap up.

I signed up at HTGTH but got bored of it pretty fast.

Exactly the same for me actually. I posted under a different username back then though.

  2. I think it's part of an overall strategy to "play possum" if you will. Remember the theory that Axl decided to release some of his weaker meaterial on the first CD volume, because he knew that it would be met with such backlash and bias that it was inevitable the album wouldn't live up to the hype the industry created for it? I think something similar is now part of Axl's plan... tour smaller and smaller theaters, doing less promotion and selling less and less tickets until people are tired of slagging Axl and beating that dead horse. Then, the tastes in pop culture are bound to swing the other directsion, because that's what always happens. By the time this and other smaller club tours draws to a close, expectation and ravings of the general public can ebb to the point where Axl can unleash new music and a new arena tour to a general public who's had it's palette cleansed by the cyclical nature of popularity.

    Are you serious?

  3. ]When I first heard on the radio, some days before the album became available, Ain't It Fun, I knew I was listening to a classic track. It still rates as one of my favourite Guns N'Roses songs ever, even if it's a cover. Its so raw, and real. I love it.

One my favourites also actually, though I tend to forget it. Axl's voice in that song is just so raw and real, as you put it. And the guitar.. Love that song!

  4. Just woke up after last nights show. What can I say that has not already been concluded? Absolutely amazing show! KILLER setlist (was about to die when I heard You're Crazy), great crowd with a great overall atmosphere and the band was just tight. Amazing night, thanks to all who was there. Only thing bothers me though: how did I NOT manage to catch anything? Damn. And Powerage, I saw you shaking hands with Axl, lucky bastard. But how could you not with a spot like that? :D front row, right in the middle. Thought you were going to get crushed when the mosh pit started.
