Well, since the "Last album you bought/downloaded" thread, which I got a lot of good recommendations from, was deleted, here's a thread for requesting recommendations like that.

I'll start off by asking you, what Bowie albums you find the best? I already have "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars", which I find really good. What should I get now?

And don't flame me for being late with the Bowie stuff

Good idea for a thread.

Basically all albums released by David Bowie between 1971 and 1983 are 7-10/10, ergo well worth checking out. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders of Mars is a good start, and I suggest you move further into his glam material first, like Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs. After you've done that, I recommend you get the rest chronologically. And when you reach the Berlin Trilogy, more specifically "Heroes", let me know what you think.

I got "... Ziggy Stardust ..." first, which was really awesome. Then I got "Hunky Dory", "Diamond Dogs" and "Heroes" and I really dig all of them I'm still missing "Aladdin Sane", but I'll download that one tomorrow, and after that, I'll try and get the rest in chronologically order, as you recommend. I love Gasolin too, I didn't put them on the list since they mainly sang in Danish Big big fan though!

The Cult. Where to start?

My favourite album by them is Love (which has She Sells Sanctuary) but if you're more into hard rock then you should probably go for Electric which is more conventional while Love is a bit more...I can't come up with a better word than psychedelic which isn't quite right. Sonic Temple is also pretty good.

Is there any of their albums which is in the style of the song "Painted On My Heart"? Because I really like that song and an album full of songs in that style should be cool

Stuck between DAD and Saybia. I would say that Denmark and Norway both suck when it comes to exporting music

Yeah, not many good bands have come out of Norway and Denmark, but in Denmark, I think there's a good 10 or so, who's really good

Well, yeah, the leadsinger is Norwegian and the 3 other members are Danish. I've always just seen Aqua as a Danish band, but you're right. I'll replace them with someone else

Really? You should definitely check out some of the others, like Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Sort Sol, Kashmir etc. Depends on what taste you have

Don't really know what to think about this. I guess it will be like how I feel about Queen + Paul Rodgers. Not the same without the original singer, but still quite good.
