  1. "On You Could Be Mine, a decent chugging rock number but hardly classic GNR, Roses voice was clearly electronically enhanced."

    Please.. Someone explain...

    What great journalism.

I'll explain. He says that Axl used a microphone which electronically enhanced his voice. That's how microphones work, they electonically enhance the voice. I guess that this was the first time that he had seen a singer with a microphone.

  2. I mean, the band sucks, but ... in a way or other, it's a band from the XXI century .... Duff is frozen in the 80's ... c'mon, this punk attitude doesn't fit in this band .... it looks like Marty Mcfly in the middle of the rockabilly age.

Pretty sure this is a cupcake thread, but I'll play along :)

BBF shreds like its 1985; he comes across as an old guy who hangs around guitar shops and plays EVH shred riffs (poorly).

DJ is like a tool, douche-bag 12 year old kid trying to be an 80s rockstar from the Sunset Strip.

Tommy wishes he was Green Day. But whereas Green Day has aged appropriately, Tommy just looks like a sad old man wearing plaid pants, waiting for the next ska band to come on, because ska is THE COOLEST NEW THING.

And the rest of them look like idiots.

    The end.

You sir know nothing about guitar playing.

  3. I wonder why they didn't ask him to join in 2002 then, when they replaced Paul with Fortus?

Or in 2005 when they replaced Buckethead with Bumblefoot?

Dj says that axl told him when he joined he wanted him in when the new band first started. I doubt that. Axl had two opportunities.

Seriously? You are asking why they didn't replace Buckethead with Dj??

Can you imagine Dj playing one of Bucket's solos??

  4. Axl is a lyrical and piano virtuoso. Buckethead is a guitar virtuoso. Why would you compare?

Piano virtuoso? Give me a fucking break. He wrote three decent piano songs, he's not Mozart.

I'm talking in the context of the modern day industry, obviously.

November Rain is one of the most iconic piano-driven hits ever.

So that makes Kurt Cobain a guitar virtuoso just like Buckethead? :shrugs:

    "Uno"

    This means nothing to me
'Cause you are nothing to me
And it means nothing to me
    That you blew this away

'Cause you could have been number one
If you only found the time
And you could have ruled the whole world
    If you had the chance

You could have been number one
And you could have ruled the whole world
And we could have had so much fun
    But you blew it away

    You're still nothing to me
And this is nothing to me
And you don't know what you've done
But I'll give you a clue

You could have been number one
If you only had the chance
And you could have ruled the whole world
    If you had the time

You could have been number one
And you could have ruled the whole world
And we could have had so much fun
    But you blew it away

You could have been number one
And you could have ruled the whole world
And we could have had so much fun
    But you blew it away.

  6. They play them because Slash created some damn fine riffs and solos.
About the writing thing, about who wrote what. Take Led Zeppelin for example, they have a bunch of songs written by

other artists but it's the way that they interpreted them that made the songs what they are.

Imagine November Rain without Slash's solos or Estranged without the swelling tones. Sub par songs at best.

I don't get it why people want to diminish Slash as a guitarist around here.

if Axl thinks that GN'R were or are better without Slash, he should hear his legendary timeless classics on Chinese Democracy. Don't get me wrong i like the album but imagine what Slash could of done to those songs.
