  1. Maybe the Ginger Tosser is going to release Chinese Democracy over three discs but not in the traditional sense. Maybe disc one will have vocals, disc 2 guitar and disc three everything else. To hear Chinese Democracy you have to buy all three discs and then play them simultaneously to hear the songs properly.:scared:

"I was concerned about a couple of steps that the Russian government took in the last several days. One was reducing the energy supplies to Czechoslovakia." --John McCain referring to a country that no longer exists, Phoenix, Arizona, July 14, 2008

Ha, cool.:D I wouldn't believe that John McCain has no idea about countries that exist or no-exist for 15 years. We splitted with slovakia in before The Spaghetti Incident was released :D

In topic, it would be absolutely awkward to release CD like that you've written. How many peoples owns 3 Cd players?

I really guess that it will be like one of the possibilities I've written few minutes ago.

  2. It's cool there are 3 versions of CDs... I can only guess what it is about.

Maybe, we will get 3 whole different and original albums. It would be awesome

-- maybe it's that Chinese, Russian and German thing...but I don't think so

-- maybe one is in classic-GNR-tune, one sounds little bit industrial and the last one sounds little bit like Queen does.It would be pretty cool

-- or just like illusions, 3 well-ballanced CDs.

Or, there will be few same tracks and than bonus tracks, different on each of them.

-- also it's possible that on each of CDs are best tracks of all material and then on first one old-gnr-tuned tracks, on second one industrial-tuned etc.

-- maybe it's only for sales - who wants to have all tracks, he has to buy all 3. Most peoples would be good with only one Chinese Democracy

Or, threre is only one real CD and there is difference only in cover or something like that.

    What do you think guys?

  3. youth, I don't think I can change your attitude. Just like for example gunsnmotley said:

anyone saying downloading doesnt affect cd sales needs to get a grip...it DOES!! how else can you explain album sales going down around 10-15% per year??

all you need to sell is 50K to get a top 10, sometimes top 5 album!!

I agee with him and I agree with redactors of music magazines, or anybody else in music industry and all others. For sure, leaking and than downloading do not help albums sales. It's like leaking movies before premiere for sure do not help visit rates of cinemas or DVDs sells.

so that's it, and about publicity,if there are no leaks, there is some kind of mystery about Chinese Democracy..it's interesting for journalists, it's interesting for us.We don't know exactly how it is like and that's why we're interested in it even more. If CD would leak today, yeah, of course, newspapers will write about it tomorow, but that's all, that would be end of that mystery, there would be only few mentiones about CD in 6 weeks, when CD is released. And all CDs need publicity.

  4. No, its not a fact. Maybe the RIAA's price fixing of CDs, watered down mainstream garbage, and overall poor attitude towards both loyal fans and new technology have played a part in declining album sales. Internet downloading did not kill album sales, corporations did.

15 dollars for a CD with 2 good songs that cost 35 cents to produce? And you're gonna blame Kazaa? No sir.

9 leaked tracks = HUGE publicity, including rolling stone, Time, Drudgereport, etc = more album sales

Well, you can also say that gravity on earth is not a fact.

CDs are expensive becouse sales are low, it isn't to the contary. CD sales were falling down like napser downloading etc. were growing up. Lots of people who used to buy CDs don't do that anymore, becouse they can easily download everything and they don't care about anything else. I'm sure you know that. I know few peoples who now buys CDs but I know lots of people who have gigabites of Mp3s on their computers. Most of them also used to buy music legally in the past, when there was nothing like torrents or napster.

  5. Youth, I don't want to argue, but it's a fact that leaking album 6 weeks before release date is bad for sales. If you think that leaking and illegaly downloading of music is helping to music industry, it's funny. Just look at numbers, how many albums was sold per year in 80s or 90s..and the difference between nowadays. Huge difference, it's a fact, numbers can not lie.

  6. Please, do not leak Chinese Democracy. It would be the worst thing that can happend to Guns N' Roses, Axl and us. If it will leak too soon, there will be no hype, no fame, GNR won't be ever big band like they used to be only becouse of downloading motherfuckers. I guess that if someone will leak it, he will very soon root in jail. FBI is here.

Of course. Downloading has never, ever helped an album's sales or been used as a marketing tool. Downloading has destroyed the music industry. When napster came along, there was never, ever another successful artist. 1999 was the last year an album was released. No song has been recorded since, and certainly no artist has ever gotten hype or fame via the internet.

Please, get fucking serious. The 9 tracks that leaked garnered more buzz and attention for this band than every cancelled show or atrocious music award show performance ever has.

It's very different (but 9 tracks leak was bad too, I know about many peoples who don't care about GNR since that).. There were only few unfinished tracks. If whole album will leak, there will be nothing to look forward. There won't be the "Chinese Democracy myth" anymore. Of course, there would be lots of people who would buy it even that, like fans. But with this hyped, magic never-released long awaited Chinese Democracy, it will be better. In 2008 it's hard to make lots of money and fame on music. There is good chance, that GNR will make it, so we, like fans, can only hope that no one will ruin it.

And there is another thing, the FBI thing. It wouldn't be smart to leak somtehing as big as CD is. If Kogil only becouse of few unfished tracks has lots of problems, like 10 000 $ only for bond and good chance to root in jail, someone who would leak whole CD would be absolutely dumb.

  8. I think we will get an announcement next week if Chinese Democracy is to be released this year. Any word on when No Love Remains is to be released? Next Friday would be nice, as it would correspond with the release of Body Of Lies.
I would assume we will see a pre-order in the best buy ad the sunday after this one

Oh, yeah. At the absolute latest.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a half time teaser this Sunday night during the Steelers / Jaguars game. I'm just wondering what song they'll decide to use. I'm thinking possibly 'Hearts Always Get Killed'.

    --------------------

Spoken: we are beggars and we are choosers - the myths, true believers, and the provers. once said, once again, no love remains

    THG

Ok, am I missing something here???

    +1

    Wtf ?

  9. There is option that Azoff decided to release CD as soon as possible and than reunite old GNR and make lot of money, so it's possible that we'll get CD this year. Or, of course, there is nothing like reunion happening and somebody has counted, that if recording costet about 15 000 000, and there are about 4 CDs, it isn't as bad as it seemed, If every will get back about 4 000 000...so they will release it also quickly. 2008-2012 are the years.
